## What is Filiz?

Your child speaks Turkish but cannot read it?

That is exactly what Filiz was built for. A child born in Europe already learns the Latin alphabet at school — A, B and K are familiar. What is not familiar is this:

the difference between ı and i · ö and ü · ş and ç · ğ

Apps made in Turkey start with "this is the letter A" and waste the first fifteen lessons. Filiz skips them and begins where it actually gets hard.

TEN MINUTES A DAY, ONE LESSON
Exactly one lesson opens each day and closes when it is done. No screen-time worry; your child will not stay glued to the device. Twenty lessons take them from letters to sentences.

THE "SAY IT" STEP IS NEVER SKIPPED
The research is clear: most second-generation children understand their heritage language but do not speak it. Languages die in exactly that gap. Filiz has the child read aloud in every lesson — and never says "wrong". What we measure is not accuracy but the number of Turkish words the child speaks.

MY CULTURE — 170 QUESTIONS, ALL FREE
"Why is Pamukkale snow white?" · "Why did our family come to Europe?" · "Why are there so many cats in Istanbul?" · "Why is knowing two languages a superpower?"

Answers are hand-written, sourced and fixed. The app generates no AI text. On religious topics no ruling is given; the source is shown instead.

VOICE ARCHIVE
Every recording your child makes during a lesson gathers in their own archive; they can listen back whenever they like. Six months later the app brings those recordings back — you listen together: "this is how you spoke last year". Recordings stay on the device.

WHAT IS NOT HERE
No ads. No data selling. No social features, comments or leaderboards. No streak pressure. No flood of notifications — one reminder only if you switch it on, once a day, at the hour you choose.

Voice recordings stay on the device. Nothing is asked of the child beyond a first name.
