How much film is actually left on that roll? FilmGauge answers it in seconds. Measure the roll's outside diameter, choose the film, and you get the remaining length, the area it will cover, and an honest uncertainty band — not a falsely precise number. THE MATH A roll seen end-on is a ring. Divide that ring's area by the film's thickness and you have the length wound on the core. FilmGauge runs that calculation against real product specifications, converts freely between imperial and metric, and draws the roll to scale against rulers so every number has something to check it against.
