Not sure why. So 1 star off for that. I always check the air quality. ### 4/5 — Unavailability of Smart Filters *2026-08-15, version 2.7.1* I have not been able to purchase a 2500 MPR filter with the smart sensor ### 2/5 — Buggy or no longer working with barcode scans? *2026-07-07, version 2.7.1* I noticed on the back of the packaging that you could start a 90 day replacement reminder using their app. After downloading it went to scan this filter’s packaging barcode, as instructed, and gave an error message saying “Try again” over and over. I’ll just keep setting a reminder in my phone to swap them out. Great app in concept but not if it’s faulty. ### 3/5 — Good app but still needs work *2026-06-28, version 2.7.1* We’re almost a year into iOS 26 and Liquid Glass but the Filtrete Widget still fails to display anything when Liquid Glass is enabled on the Home Screen. Would be nice to have the widget work with a feature of the OS. There were several apps that had issues early on but every one of those apps have fixed this issue and most of them months ago. Please address this before iOS 27 is released! ### 2/5 — Went from good to annoying *2026-04-18, version 2.6.18* Find a way to save and reuse my previous settings thanks. Been using app for a while and now all of a sudden I need to enter the dimensions for every filter? I have 12. It knew last time. Why enter new dimensions again? Why ask me what type of filter? And MERV. That’s like 10 button presses per filter times 12. 120 interactions to simply get a 90 day reminder. I don’t use the smart filters. I just wanted a timer. There are easier ways to get my marketing data. ### 2/5 — Filter Reminder - 3, 6, or 12 month ONLY *2026-03-18, version 2.6.18* The ONLY reason I downloaded this app was for the filter timer/reminder. Depending on the season, I need either 4 or 5 months. I have pets, and I live in a yard full of oak trees in an area with a lot of pollen. I am very disappointed in Filtrete. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — No alerts *2026-08-21, version 2.7.1* I haven’t received any alerts at all ### 1/5 — Waste of an app and excessive ewaste *2026-07-18, version 2.7.1* 1) The “sensor” they attached to the filter is just a dumb countdown timer, interferes with the tight clearances in the filter holder, and is just more toxic ewaste. 2) There is no reason to give Filtrete access to my private data when a simple reminder set in my phone does the same thing. The app claims to actually measure filter use and airflow. I removed one of the sensors and put it in a plastic bag where there is no airflow and no filter usage to measure. It is still recording filter use. So far it’s recorded 6% use in 4 days. At this rate it will have me replacing the filter in a little over 2 months. ### 1/5 — Useless App *2026-06-10, version 2.7.0* I cannot get past a system error on the app when trying to set up a new filter. Now only 3, 6 and 13 months. If you’re changing it why not make an option for your own schedule.
