This game is so stupid, I’m happy idiots wasted their money on a company that doesn’t care about their audience 😂😂😂 ### 1/5 — Dead Game *2025-04-19, version 11.3.6* Game is completely dead with the exception of lingering dye hard fans and those who over committed their wallets. You can tell devs gave up on the game a long time ago. There hasn’t been any updates that’ll bring the game up to par with competition. They’re recycling characters with different versions of the same thing. No new and worthy collaborations like they used to do. For example, Nier character collab. The mundane and tedious dailies make you feel like you’re doing a chore just to get to auto repeat farming. I still think by now they should have readjusted daily limiters. It shouldn’t be a grind fest just to max your units. I have a ton of units sitting shelved and dusty because it takes weeks to months for materials. I have a second account just so I can do multiplayer… that should tell you a lot about the games state. You’ll notice game stability is dropping too. Recently, I freeze up 10x a day using auto repeat. It’s just a matter of time. The lights will go out some time soon. Sad. ### 1/5 — Power scaling makes no sense *2025-04-12, version 11.3.6* The problem with this game is they may give you cool stuff up front but the power scaling is ridiculous. If four lvl 120 characters can’t clear the first floor of the lightning dungeon that’s a problem. If it takes most of the days energy to farm materials to raise a character 5 levels (and you aren’t even guaranteed the material) that’s a problem. It’s not consistent at all. I wanted to raise up a character but after grinding 6 fights I didn’t get a single resource I wanted and I sunk a few hours into this. Not worth the time. It makes no sense. ### 1/5 — Beware of Gumi and square Enix *2025-04-01, version 11.3.6* So… yea without any foreshadowing or warning they decided to close down this game. Slowly watched this once great game degrade further and further all in the name of greed and profiteering. Congrats scummy Gumi! You managed to destroy a once great game with your absolute mishandling of everything at every turn!! Never again Gumi or Square Enix. ### 2/5 — Slap in the face *2025-03-31, version 11.3.6* For a game that depends heavily on nostalgia, this game treats its players like garbage. ### 1/5 — SE still doesn't know it's base *2025-03-29, version 11.3.5* Played from launch, it has its long loads, overpriced on gacha rolls compared to longer running titles like FGO and FEH. Been off and on due to the pacing and comeback events, only for the limited crossover events with FFXIV, Persona 5 and NieR. Sadly rather than trying to make things easier, less bloated and saturated(I mean all the login pop-ups and load times to skip them), SE continues to do it's bad habit on doubling down on bad decisions. Game never felt worth investing cash in because of this. But I really wish, we could get our character/unit data for an offline version so we can casually play through the story and events we've missed or didn't have time to complete. ### 2/5 — Very fun game, doomed to fail *2025-03-29* First things first the game was very fun, beautiful art clearly inspired by Amano, and was fairly free to play friendly at the beginning but like most gacha games, the power creep set in and after 4 years, the game became very grindy with paying players much more advanced than f2p, the last year of the games life has been plagued by the devs deciding to try to merge the timelines of the original JP version and this, the global version, leading to rushed events, shortened deadlines for pulling meta units incentivizing people to instead just pay for them, and altogether a loss in quality. I won’t besmirch the game much more as I clearly got my “moneys worth” in terms of time and energy spent, 5 years is a perfectly fine time to last, it’s just a shame since it could have easily gone another 5 in my opinion. To top that all off the devs will not be allowing any account merging or migrating so all the Global players on this server are now up the creek without a paddle as it were. I will say this is going to be my last square enix mobile game as this game WOTV is unfortunately another name on the long list of mishandled games they’ve put out and axed with undue cause. RIP WOTV, I’m sad we won’t get to see the end of your story. ### 3/5 — It was great while it lasted *2025-03-29, version 11.3.5* Annoyed to see it go, put so much money into it over the years, wouldn’t be so bad if we didn’t know these games continue in Japan. It was very good at first and it slowly got worse and by worse, I mean the game got saturated. They kept adding things more quickly like new units excessively making it much like more gotcha you gotta pay to play sort of thing and then after that five years was up, they canceled the game or I should say announced they are canceling the game. I will never be playing another game from Square Enix ever again never getting a penny from me nor will I ever play any of the Final Fantasy games ever again after this What a complete waste of time and money, the level of utter disgust I have for Gumi and square enix cant be out in words, to put it nicely. If you are playing this game for the first time, let me break it down for you… the combat isn’t even the focus of the game. As a matter of fact, they give you an “auto-fight” feature AND the option to skip the fight entirely. The whole point of the game is to just summon things (so they can make you want to buy stuff). All of the events for summoning people are glowing and draw your attention, meanwhile they leave the story button tucked in a dark corner. They also give you a full team of max level players right off the rip… what’s the point? All the artwork on the cards, 2D characters, and 3D modeling of the people, the creatures, and the landscape made it so vivid. It was fun and nothing less. I took a year or so break and came back once I heard about the EOS. I played it here and there, but man. This one got me in the feels with it ending. The game was so much fun, it was finally a successor to Final Fantasy Tactics and had great crossovers. It is going to be missed so much. Such a shame to see this one go, it had great mechanics and a great story.
