Very tedious. It is a classic, it’s fun yet challenging, and something to play casually or seriously. But there’s just one thing. The lack of auto save. If I leave the game for three minutes after playing for an hour, I’m at my last save. And I don’t save if I’m just going onto a search engine for 5 minutes. I once went from level 16 to 7, because I shut off my device without saving. Please either add autosave or make it hold my progress. Great remake though, but just can’t enjoy it like this . ### 5/5 — Amazing game! *2025-05-16* I had never played the OG game before but this version I believe is the best one to play for 1st timers with all its additions. Said that I hope you guys bring the whole collection to Apple Arcade cause if the 1st one is good I can’t imagine the rest! Lastly, it would be very but I mean very time saving and very helpful if you guys added auto sync to the cloud so that it doesn’t have to be done manually every time I want to move from my iPhone to my iPad and continue where I left off. All other Apple Arcade games do it so I hope there’s a way this game and the other final fantasy games become capable of automatically syncing to the cloud every time one saves progress please!! Since there is no auto-save, I lose everything since my last manual save. This is very frustrating. The graphics are nice and the music is excellent. But the mechanics are terribly outdated and the story is still non-existent. Battles are tedious and unsatisfying. I promise I’ll let you track my data😄 ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — !!!IMPORTANT BEFORE BUYING!!! *2026-04-28, version 1.2.2* They MASSIVELY made it easier from the switch and original. Level three and you already have 100 health as a fighter. Fights are made much easier, puzzles nerfed, and the effects are gone after a battle making heals and items essentially useless. This takes away from the game SO MUCH and makes me a little sad. You can play with nintendo switch, xbox, playstation and apple controllers which is a great plus. ### 1/5 — No Sound *2025-08-08, version 1.2.2* None whatsoever. Whenever switching to another app and heading back to the game, the audio will no longer play. This on its own doesn’t bother me in the slightest, however there is another issue present that makes this issue game-breaking. Whenever you make it to a point in the game where you obtain a major story item and the jingle plays (eg. acquiring the boat), if the jingle doesn’t play, the game waits until it plays. Of course, this means that if the sound is not working, the jingle never plays, and you are entirely soft-locked, forcing you to force quit the game. Didn't beat it until this past week. Got all of the trophies, except the trophy you get for getting all of the trophies... I think that's a glitch that I hope corrects itself over time.
