The official FINAL FANTASY XIV Companion app helps you keep in touch with your friends and prepare for adventure, anytime, anywhere! Access your in-game friend list, chat with fellow adventurers, make and share plans using the event list, manage your items, browse the market board, and assign retainer ventures!

Please note that an active service account and subscription for FINAL FANTASY XIV are required to use this app. 
Please also note that some features such as chat can still be accessed for the first 30 days after your subscription for the main game has expired. You will lose access to all features after this period.

This app costs about $20-30 a day to have enough coins to actually manage one ffxiv account. Its an additional $20-30 a day per character. If you dont spend money you can interact with 1 character once per day when in reality you need to be able to do it 100-200 interactions per day

I pay for this app, yet cannot see items retainers bring back from ventures. Using retainers to sell items requires additional $ for Mog coins, unless you only list 2 items a day.

If you think about it this app is 17.99 subscription($5 for app and $12.99 for the game which you obviously also need) just to be extremely limited on what you can even do. You only get 2 uses a day if premium, or 1 if you don’t pay extra on top of you game sub.

The black desert+ app is basically the same feature list aside from retainers, the chat system is linked directly with the actual game chat and all of which functions as a fully unrestricted app for free for a game you are not already paying monthly for, and no artificial limitations.

When I downloaded it I thought I was getting an app that would help me find mobs, has guides, and tips.  It’s not that. It’s a discord for people without discord I guess. I can barely operate the app. I keep accidentally editing the homepage. I have no idea what use this could be for. The market thing isn’t helpful, and the ventures you can’t even choose the one you want. You have to go in game to do the longer ones. 
I’d like the job guides, events, updates, world boss timers, pot timers, server info’s. Maybe even a mini version of my house on the app. That way I could log into the app and handle stuff from inside my house. That would be difficult but just an idea of something better than what the app currently is….
Something that I would actually find useful.
Take a look at the Dodo companion app for ark. That thing used to slap back in the day. Wouldn’t need to go to anyone else’s website, just toss up the app and I can find any info I needed. Like a mini encyclopedia of the game. AN ACTUAL USEFUL APP. 

Here is another idea for you, Global market access, global party finder’s. These are things third party websites give you for free. Cmon you can’t tell me yall can’t implement that into your app. I’ve made apps before with much more content. I’m a single human being. Imagine what you could make with a dedicated dev team.
Be for real, it’s a money grab.
Add those things and people will actually like your app.

Update: Y’all’s changed the layout system and I can no longer put things on the bottom of the screen, so the now clutter up over my character. This is not great, aesthetically speaking.

The free version is OK, I guess.

The paid version comes with some nice in game perks.

I’d recommend some better sorting options on here however. Let me search my retainers in more efficient ways, if you’re going to charge this much, for example let me look for all gear that can be used by a 40-49 Bard.
