Its an additional $20-30 a day per character. If you dont spend money you can interact with 1 character once per day when in reality you need to be able to do it 100-200 interactions per day ### 4/5 — Update? *2026-06-02, version 2.5.0* I don’t know if it’s just me but when I open the app it tells me I have to go to the app store to update the app to continue, but when I go to the app store there is no update, so I can’t use the app ### 4/5 — Cosmic Exploration Updates *2025-09-02, version 2.3.1* It’s starting to feel more like a companion app all the time and the new additions to include Cosmic Exploration are very welcome. I’d like to see similar features extended to battle related activities such as Occult Crescent where appropriate. Something to the tune of tracking challenges in instanced areas or something like that. ### 3/5 — Decent Interactions *2025-07-01, version 2.2.3* I like the ability to freely move items between inventory, saddlebags, and retainers! Very OP after a long sesh once you log off. However, it’s too expensive to manage retainers with mogcoins / the rate of kupo nuts should be increased if you have more retainers. Also big feature request : Please add integration with duty finder. A new menu/ widget that gives push notifications to the phone when party finder is full/ duty finder needs action from the user (commence, withdraw, etc) or allow the user to queue for instances directly from the app for a kupo nut or something. ### 4/5 — Useful once you have retainers *2025-06-17, version 2.2.3* This app becomes more helpful once you have retainers as it gives you a fairly nice frontend outside of the game to manage your market sales and retainer jobs. All I want is to be able to send my retainers on ventures. To do that you need kupo nuts or mog coins. You get 1 free a day, otherwise you have to buy them, so you can only assign 1 venture per day (but I have 2 retainers?!?) I would even pay a one time fee to buy access but that isn’t an option. This app is basically a cash grab. Having a companion app would keep people in tuned with the actual game they are already paying a subscription for, it already benefits them for this just to exist. So why add more micro-transactions and paywalls? I’m already paying to play this game, you want me to pay again? This is the dumbest, greediest, most pathetic money grab I’ve seen in a long time. Using retainers to sell items requires additional $ for Mog coins, unless you only list 2 items a day. ### 1/5 — Does not work *2026-06-04, version 2.5.0* The app keeps telling me to update the app because there’s a new version I go to the App Store and it says I’m up-to-date and it won’t let me go into the app ### 1/5 — App no longer works *2026-06-03, version 2.5.0* Since the release of 7.51, the app will instruct you to update and not let you use the app. There is no update on the App Store making the app unusable. ### 1/5 — Scam app *2026-04-23, version 2.4.1* If you think about it this app is 17.99 subscription($5 for app and $12.99 for the game which you obviously also need) just to be extremely limited on what you can even do. You only get 2 uses a day if premium, or 1 if you don’t pay extra on top of you game sub. The black desert+ app is basically the same feature list aside from retainers, the chat system is linked directly with the actual game chat and all of which functions as a fully unrestricted app for free for a game you are not already paying monthly for, and no artificial limitations. ### 1/5 — Meh *2026-01-27, version 2.4.1* When I downloaded it I thought I was getting an app that would help me find mobs, has guides, and tips. It’s not that. It’s a discord for people without discord I guess. I can barely operate the app. I keep accidentally editing the homepage. I have no idea what use this could be for. The market thing isn’t helpful, and the ventures you can’t even choose the one you want. You have to go in game to do the longer ones. I’d like the job guides, events, updates, world boss timers, pot timers, server info’s. Maybe even a mini version of my house on the app. That way I could log into the app and handle stuff from inside my house. That would be difficult but just an idea of something better than what the app currently is…. Something that I would actually find useful. Take a look at the Dodo companion app for ark. That thing used to slap back in the day. Wouldn’t need to go to anyone else’s website, just toss up the app and I can find any info I needed. Like a mini encyclopedia of the game. AN ACTUAL USEFUL APP. Here is another idea for you, Global market access, global party finder’s. These are things third party websites give you for free. Cmon you can’t tell me yall can’t implement that into your app. I’ve made apps before with much more content. I’m a single human being. Imagine what you could make with a dedicated dev team. Be for real, it’s a money grab. Add those things and people will actually like your app. ### 1/5 — Needs work *2025-12-20, version 2.4.0* Update: Y’all’s changed the layout system and I can no longer put things on the bottom of the screen, so the now clutter up over my character. This is not great, aesthetically speaking. The free version is OK, I guess. The paid version comes with some nice in game perks. I’d recommend some better sorting options on here however. I love the ability to organize storage and move inventory items from me to my retainers or my chocobo saddlebags. Buying and selling from the marketplace is easy and convenient. And initiating retainer hunting ventures on the go is awesome! (Hoping they implement something similar for Grand Company squadron missions soon too) The premium version is totally worth the money for the additional retainer alone, plus an additional saddlebag sealed the deal for me. ### 5/5 — Evolved into being a nice app *2025-04-23, version 2.2.1* The app is simple, but convenient. There’s still a paid aspect to it, but it is not necessary to get your milage out of it. AND the base version unlocks a cute adventurer frame and a cute emote for your WoL in the MMO! This app has changed so much and for the better. You can do so many things now. You can send your retainers off! You can buy items from the market board! (This is especially awesome because it’s real-time updated and not run by PC plug-ins. So if an item gets posted by a person who does NOT use the plug-in, websites like Universalis won’t show it. This is how I was able to get a 20k gil unhidden leather map!) You can also put things up for sale and change their prices and take them down, you can move inventory items around, or combine them. The app is extremely useful.
