Lovely illustrations too. As an educator, I believe this series will play a big role in revolutionising the way our kids learn to value the richness of our precious, beautiful and diverse heritage through language. My eldest who is 3 has really enjoyed the ‘I can’t speak Yoruba’ book and it’s become a regular part of our bedtime routine. Not only does it allow him to explore this new language, he loves the interactive nature of the app as he repeats the key words you can press at the end of the page. He’s not at a stage where he can incorporate the words into his vocabulary but it’s made reading stories more fun for the both of us and I feel a sense of pride as I can sense he has a genuine interest in my culture (or so I feel anyway). It’s also been really useful for the wife as she is picking up on the odd Yoruba word here and there, raising eyebrows whenever we go to family functions. Overall, a solid 5 star app which is intuitive as well as informative (won’t lie, didn’t know the Yoruba word for toes).
