This is a must have for all:

This app is understandable whether one can read music or not. I recommend it to every music professional. You will not regret this purchase.

### 5/5 — Incredible help!

*2014-01-21*

This is one of the best apps I paid money for. It is worth every penny! Just buy it!!!

*2013-03-26*

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2012-05-07, version 3.4*

As a music educator this is an amazing and comprehensive fingering app that every band director should have!

### 5/5 — Best of the fingering apps available!

*2011-09-15*

While it's one of the more expensive apps for fingerings, it's a comprehensive and polished app.

### 5/5 — Awesome update

*2011-03-28*

Adding the mute button and fully supporting the Tenor and Bass trombone (accurately I may add!) are great changes from a responsive developer. This is now my go to app for fingering. Thanks!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2011-03-24, version 3.3*

Excellent app! Fingerings for the clarinet are great, especially for finding alternate fingerings. The most recent update makes finding chromatic fingerings much easier. Solid app all around.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2010-11-25, version 0*

Great app, helps me everyday with fingerings for the C tuba.

### 4/5 — Brilliant and extremely useful

*2010-09-15*

What an extensive and useful tool.. Many functions really helpful even simply as a tuning reference. Have used this in orchestral situations with great success.. A must have pocket reference.

### 1/5 — Wrong contra fingerings

*2025-10-11*

The contra has different fingerings than bassoon. They are all wrong after e natural

### 1/5 — Great content - *HUGE* battery drain!!

*2025-04-11*

I’ve been using this app for a while, but recently it has become a huge on my battery. In the last 24 hours it has run 4 minutes on screen and over 16 hours in the background representing 50% of my battery drain for the day. This happens on multiple devices. I have tried deleting ND and reinstalling but the problem still exists.

### 1/5 — Needs huge improvements

*2023-02-01*

I am not able to hear the saxophone sounds , only piano, even after selecting alto saxophone. Nonsense

**Developer response:** Selecting an instrument shows the fingerings for that instrument. This is not a synthesizer.

### 1/5 — Um...?!

*2013-07-07, version 4.1*

It's a great app but could you please put all the fingerings on there?! I'd like to be able to figure out all of them WITHOUT going to my other apps......

### 3/5 — No sound

*2019-10-27*

We need this app updated,no sound at all.

### 4/5 — No Sound :(

*2022-12-02*

Will the app be updated for the latest iOS? There is no sound at all. Even with muting and unmuting.

### 4/5 — SOUND NOT WORKING

*2021-08-31*

Awesome music app. But there is no sound.

**Developer response:** Try muting and unmuting it. The speaker icon may not accurately represent the current state. Sorry.

### 4/5 — Good app

*2014-04-24*

Needs to have an option to see their pitch rather than the default concert pitch. Include more alternate fingerings for woodwinds as well. With those options I would rate it 5 stars.

### 4/5 — Awesome and Very Useful!!!

*2011-04-13, version 3.3*

This app is awesome and very useful. Here's what will make this a five star app. As a band director myself, there are some alternate fingerings that are missing. For example, for trumpet...4th space E (concert D), there's an alternate fingering for that note and that is 1st and 2nd valve. Also...4th space Eb (Concert Db) can also be played as 2nd & 3rd valve. It doesn't show that. Another example, the flute fingering for Bb, there are 3 different fingerings for that note and it only shows the main fingering. I'm sure these are not the only ones missing. Fix this and I'll give it 5 stars.

### 4/5 — Very detailed app!

*2010-12-28*

It would be better though, if you heard the selected instrument's sound when you select a note, instead of just piano.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Amazing resource

*2023-02-19*

Great app overall. I have one critical update request to make the app much easier to use with students: PLEASE allow an option to switch to “light mode” from within the settings of the app. The dark mode visuals on the app are difficult for students to read. Since many of us use dark mode on our iOS devices overall, I have to switch to light mode on my entire phone or iPad every time I want to use the app with a student (and then back again afterwards). This is very time-consuming and annoying. Please fix this issue. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Great band app

*2021-08-05*

It’s definitely the best app for me and my friends, we are in a high school band and it helps, although it may be expensive its definitely worth it.

### 5/5 — Make your own fingering option

*2019-09-09*

I love this app. Always use it when I’m need of a reference. But there should an option to create your own fingerings and write notes for that fingering. I am a professional who sometimes uses alternate fingerings to change tone or make passages smoother. This feature would make leagues easier to keep up with my ever growing library of fingerings.

### 5/5 — Great reference app!

*2019-04-04*

This app is excellent!
I went for the one with brass and woodwind info and it does not disappoint. There are a full range of instruments to choose from, including trombone, french horn and Cor Anglais.

Alternative finger positions are easily accessed and it is so simple to move the note up and down by dragging, then left for flat and right for sharp. Very well thought out!

The stability is excellent and it hasn’t once crashed on my iPhone XS.

Highly recommended!!!!

### 5/5 — Fantastic resource!

*2019-01-21*

This has been on my iPod, iPhone, and iPad for many years now and has always been helpful when I have a brain fart on my woodwind fingerings for alternates and trills. Its also a quick way to give a clear visual to students so that I don’t have to say numbers and spin an instrument around wildly to show which fingers are used. This is particularly helpful for beginning clarinetists with too many pinky keys to handle.

Some helpful ideas:
1. fix the piccolo finger chart (it is VERY atypical for a piccolo to have a low D-flat or C).
2. Incorporate some extended range fingers (clarinet is already screaming high, but some standard rep has flutes going up to D and higher and almost all modern saxophone repertoire will have a G6 at least)
3. Add a chart for recorders! Both Baroque and German. (This is actually a recent need for me and what is leading to me writing a review today). Many musicals ask woodwind doublers to include recorder in their arsenal, so this would be very helpful to that group.

### 5/5 — Great but some fingerings are missing

*2018-09-11*

Saxophones can play Dflat 3, you just don’t have the fingering for it. It is the lowest note on the saxophone besides a low A on baritone saxophone

### 5/5 — Perfect Reference Tool

*2016-10-16*

I use Fingerings for Alto Sax, Soprano Sax, Eflat and Bflat Clarinet. Would be hard to live without.

### 5/5 — Da Best

*2016-08-13*

Great app. Accurate. I teach instrumental music in Jr. High and High School. I use it regularly every year. Shows alternate fingerings and trills. When students see the app, they want to download it for themselves as well.

### 5/5 — Yay!

*2016-07-27*

One of the most helpful music apps out there, absolutely necessary for music educators and music education students!

### 5/5 — Great tool

*2016-03-21, version 5.0*

Fantastic tool for any band director!
