## What is Finishwell?

Finish small jobs. Stop putting things off. Practice a skill. Finishwell turns what you want to do into a clear goal and a hand-drawn journey with a cat companion.

A GOAL CAN BE SMALL
Choose what finished looks like, then add the landmarks that fit. One step may be enough. Extend your route whenever you need, and keep a useful next action close at hand.

REPEAT AT YOUR OWN PACE
Choose daily practice, selected weekdays, or a weekly check-in target. Each repeating landmark has a finite total. Check in once per day, even off schedule. Missed days create no debt to catch up on. Your cat advances when you finish a landmark.

REMINDERS YOU CHOOSE
Optional local reminders stay off until you enable them. Only the current landmark of your foreground active goal sends reminders. Notification text keeps your goal titles and notes private.

RETURN WITH A CLEAR NEXT STEP
Read or listen to your saved next action. Keep notes and links, revise your route, or park a goal for later. Save a note, link, or photo of the result when you finish.

PLAN YOUR WAY
Manual planning works offline without an account. Optional cloud AI helps draft or rethink your route after consent and sign-in. Review and edit suggestions before applying them. Reading saved text aloud uses device voices.

START FREE
One active goal, unlimited parked and completed goals, manual planning, local reminders, reading aloud, export, and deletion. Pro unlocks unlimited active goals and expanded AI planning access. Choose monthly, yearly, or a one-time lifetime purchase; current prices and terms appear in the app. Previous Pretext records remain readable and exportable.

Payment is charged to your Apple account at purchase confirmation. Monthly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Lifetime is a one-time purchase and does not renew. Manage subscriptions in your Apple account settings.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 4.3 — 2026-09-28

Getting started is clearer: set a goal, define its finish line, and choose a first action before approving your route. Map controls are easier to recognize, text fits better at larger sizes, and completed goals lead directly to a keepsake. We also improved the iPad layout and keepsake sharing.

### 4.2 — 2026-09-24

Your journey map now takes more natural, winding routes, and the path you've already walked never changes. Share your whole route as an image with its dates. Better VoiceOver and large-text support, feedback drafts that stay saved, and no microphone permission.

### 4.1 — 2026-09-10

fixed several bugs and improved overall app performance for a smoother experience

### 4.0 — 2026-09-06

Pretext is now Finishwell. Turn small jobs, habits, skills, and bigger goals into a hand-drawn journey. Add one-time or repeating landmarks, track a finite number of check-ins, and choose optional private reminders. The compact journey card now shows its full actions without scrolling. Your previous Pretext records remain available in the legacy archive.

### 3.2 — 2026-08-11

Plans fall apart. Your day doesn’t have to.

Meet Off-Script Recovery: shrink the original Case to two minutes, or choose a useful Plan B for 2, 10, or 25 minutes. Check out honestly, optionally note what changed, and keep the original Case open when Plan B wins.

Every recovery creates a private, on-device receipt you can preview and share. After a few recovered days, Insights can reveal the patterns that help you restart.

We also polished the Liquid Glass inputs, keyboard behavior, and recovery reliability.
