Scam

Not accurate at all. Will cost lives and property if utilized by fire departments. Apple needs to take this app off of the web store and ban this developer for false advertising.

Response from developer

Actually, we've served several millions of requests to fire departments with zero incidents and we have many fire departments using our platform on a daily basis. Do not confuse residential with our fire department services. Also, a majority of the data in our system is in fact provided by fire departments who use the service. If you have an issue with any inaccuracies, please reach out to us directly so we can address your concerns.

Would not allow location to be moved to where I needed to look

It wants $3/mo to be able to locate the fire hydrant in a location other than yourself, even then it failed to locate the one outside my house.

Response from developer

The app uses your location initially to find fire hydrants. We also use 3rd party services to help find fire hydrants which cost money. We also provide fire hydrant data for a lot of major cities for you to browse. There are over 9 million fire hydrant sin the U.S. and while we don't have every single one catalogued, we're constantly striving to get the latest and greatest information. If you want your fire hydrant or city catalogued, invite your fire department to use our service. We pay out referral rewards.

Only works for a handful of cities and towns.

The description of this app should contain a link to the webpage listing the few dozen or so municipalities that it covers, so that potential downloaders nationwide can check before wasting their time.

Response from developer

Before you sign up there is a link to see what cities are currently covered, plus we have a service that attempts to find more fire hydrants outside of what we cover using 3rd party services. Unfortunately, there is no way of knowing what all cities are covered by the 3rd party services we use. Also, we have users that add their own fire hydrants to utilize our fire hydrant tools for mapping and distance calculations. We apologize that your city is not yet covered, but we do offer a referral program and if your local fire / water department adds their fire hydrants, you get a cash reward. http://firehydrantmanager.com for emore details.

App doesn’t work

After I paid for the app to locate a fire hydrant near me, the app did not work. You cannot look for a fire hydrate you can only add them, but I’m paying for the service, but I’m the one that’s supposed to add them into the app that makes no sense. I normally don’t leave review but don’t buy this app. Don’t download. It is pointless. It’s just taking your money

Response from developer

Before you purchase the upgrade, we clearly explain that your location may not have fire hydrants that are in our system or may not possibly be found by a 3rd party service. We also have a list all of the cities we have in our service on our website. Please read thoroughly before you make a purchase. Our app also allows you to add a fire hydrant so that you can perform tasks such as distance calculations and reporting. You are not obligated to add a fire hydrant as you expressed. Our app has helped many first responders so your statement on it being pointless is absolutely false and contradicted by these first responders. As far as “taking your money”, you are entitled to a refund from Apple.

Don’t waste your time

This app is useless.
