One of my major gripes is you can change temp settings mid cook. If you attempt this the temp will keep increasing. You need to end your current session and start a new one. ### 3/5 — Dead on- except spikes *2026-08-01, version 5.7.7* Holds temp dead on when it settles, but still be prepared to manage spikes on a Kamado. Having to constantly check that the system is connected and working is no better than having to check temperatures! Please fix this!! ### 5/5 — Love this App!! *2026-06-17* I don’t normally write a whole bunch of reviews even though I should. However, as a whole ecosystem, FireBoard really has outdone themselves. I purchased a LoneStarGrillz pellet smoker and got it in April of 2024. Since then I got three pulse probes and a spark to add to the armada of temperature control. I honestly don’t what I would do without an app to watch, control, and predict my cooking. To note, I have a young son and another one on the way so my time is stretched way thing. It’s changed my process. The app works. It just works and at the end of the day that’s all I want is for my tech and my tools to work. ### 5/5 — EZ to use *2026-06-11, version 5.7.4* I find that information needed is quick to find. ### 2/5 — Recent updates have ruined the reliability *2026-05-31* This app has worked well for a long time, but in the past few months, there have been several updates where it’s gotten worse and worse. Half the time when I open it now I don’t even have pit control to see your control of the temperature inside the pit. It just shows the graph for the current session. I have to force close and reopen the app several times to finally get it to show the current pit temperature and setting. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Abysmal *2026-06-22, version 5.7.4* Really wish I had time to reverse engineer this and write my own system. So tired of this app: 1. Always forgetting the alerts I have configured for my channels. EXTREMELY UNHELPFUL! 2. Not being able to record 24+ hour cooks in a single graph. Fix your stupid ring buffer. 3. The very difficult to follow UI. Accidentally clicked in to the full graph view? Too bad, you can’t set an alert from there. You have to guess that clicking just the number on the main page will let you do that. ### 1/5 — Temp control *2026-06-14, version 5.7.4* The temperature control is very unreliable. The temps drop and spike for no reason. The support here is really lacking and the team is defensive even when there are known quality issues. Switched to a competitor and while not as flashy it just works. Update: have gone through multiple replacements and reorders. I think their k-type probes have quality issues.
