This is terrible for parents. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t appear to work. *2023-01-31, version 3.0.22* Poor UX design - clickable items should look like buttons. I can view my child’s tasks but nothing else works. Latest IOS installed. ### 1/5 — Failed at first hurdle *2022-12-14, version 3.0.19* Trying to login with app, need school code to do this. Instead of giving you the option on the first page to search for it in the app, you have to login to the web edition on your PC…a bit of a convoluted process. Please fix ### 1/5 — Tasks due not synced with reality *2022-10-10, version 3.0.16* I told my son off today for not telling me about homework that was due thanks to the parent app telling me there were multiple tasks overdue. Turns out he had done them and marked them complete but the parent app doesn’t update to show this. Firefly say it’s a known bug with a fix at an unnamed point in the future but I would say that’s one of the main reasons parents would use the app, to see what tasks their kids have for homework. ### 1/5 — Useless App struggles to update *2022-10-01, version 3.0.16* Daughter is set homework, does it and ticks it off. Parent app fails to update, tried everything manual refresh, deleted app and data and did reinstall…. No luck useless ### 1/5 — Worse than useless *2022-09-27, version 3.0.16* The student app is good and functional. This one is not. Tasks are not sync’d, messages not updated — if something shows up in the first place. Shockingly bad. ### 1/5 — Can’t even see the timetable *2022-09-10* Terrible app. Needs to be rewritten from the ground up. Consider this - It’s an app designed for schools which can’t even display the timetable in a single view. Only two days per week and even then half the days lessons overlap so you can’t read the details. This is basic basic stuff guys. Very poor. Your website isn’t properly responsive either.. I would say there is a big danger for your market position to be overtaken if someone else enters with a decent UX…. Presumably you are only selling at the moment because of the lack of alternatives… ### 1/5 — Awful *2022-07-08, version 3.0.14* Almost unusable on iPhone. You can see messages and student notices but reports and other things. Although it gives notifications of reports cannot see them in the app ### 1/5 — Great idea but rubbish app *2022-05-23, version 3.0.13* App does not synchronise when my daughter marks tasks as done so on my app it appears as though she has many outstanding tasks when she does not. Also doesn’t mark read letters as read. Content doesn’t load unless I log in-out-in-out several times. And even then it’s hit and miss. So much time wasted. Can’t see tasks, bookmarks or anything else. Also in the done section it is totally blank. How does this a help to parents, when you’re trying to support your children? If I didn’t have to use this app, I wouldn’t. ### 1/5 — Utter garbage *2025-01-05, version 4.1.2* Frustratingly difficult to navigate before a recent update, it is now completely useless, can’t open emails, domain doesn’t match app, can’t get to any of the school links that used to be on the dashboard. The guide says “if you want to add bookmarks, go to the website” Seriously. Virtually impossible to read any data due to fields not fitting on screen or being truncated .. an app within an app - homepage looks ok.. but when you go deeper you are back in the old view. To the developers.. just build a completely new mobile front end… please. Now when you click on messages - it comes up with all letters without title so you’d have to click into each to find out what the letter was about. What’s the point of having a function that’s not useful at all? Search also didn’t work. Bugs aside which are regular the general quality is dreadful. The only saving grace is it’s free and not quite as painful as the website. Very helpful and useful! :) ### 3/5 — Hard to get to report to Absence *2024-12-12, version 4.1.1* I have been using firefly for roughly two years, usually no problems. Until recently there was a new update and I could no longer get to report my child as absent. This used to be on the dashboard and used to be easy, now I have to log into my computer to report as I no longer see anything in the app with this functionality. Also, the booking area used to take me to the web page to submit bookings with the school, but now it appears to be trying to install a certificate and didn’t work until I uninstalled and reinstalled to see if that would resolve the issue. I haven’t had this issue with updates before, just a bit frustrating with this last update. ### 3/5 — So many bugs *2024-12-08, version 4.1.0* It’s useful but can’t read messages or tasks since the update, I click on them but they aren’t there. ### 2/5 — Can’t mark tasks as done!!!!! *2022-01-22, version 3.0.2* Since the latest update, I have 2 children that I’m trying to keep track of re completed homework and despite them marking tasks as done, they still remain as ‘to do’ and then subsequently show as ‘outstanding tasks’ incorrectly! Not helpful at all. Please fix :-( ### 2/5 — Fetching data / retrying *2021-09-09, version 2.4.10* First time I have used this app on advice from the school and I just keep getting a ‘fetching data / retrying’ message. Any ideas why this will not work? ### 2/5 — App does not update *2021-08-18, version 2.4.9* My Parent App does not reflect what my child’s say with overdue and due tasks. There is always a notification saying I have something new or unread but when you open it, there is nothing new or unread. Screen notifying me to check emails is frozen with no option to go back to Home Screen or refresh.
