### 3/5 — Not What It Used to Be

*2019-11-21*

I had the app on the first iPad and I LOVED it. Now, there’s just one fire and a sleep timer. Kind of disappointing. I used to have my choice of fires.

### 3/5 — Doesn’t display in Landscape mode :-(

*2017-12-05*

Like the previous reviewer stated, when you turn the phone to landscape the fire doesn’t scene isn’t full-screen.
Once this is fixed I’ll amend my review.

### 4/5 — Love the app, but please fix the screen rotation problem

*2017-12-02*

Hoping the developer gets this: there’s a bug in the app now where when you rotate your device from vertical to horizontal, the video instead rotates 180 to the top of the screen and is upside down. I emailed you a screenshot showing the problem. Please fix this.

### 3/5 — Eh, not bad but...

*2015-12-13*

I would have liked to see more effort put into it. Less obvious loop points, have the stove door look less like an overlay, better centering on the small wood fire with the brick wall.

### 3/5 — Crashes

*2013-11-25, version 3.7*

App crashes (get only white screen and can't get out unless I 'uninstall' app) when I try to add my own music through 'custom' tab. Needs work..................If you just want to listen to crackling fireplace, it's okay; but I got it so I can add my own music. Will have to look elsewhere.

### 3/5 — 1.5-second Video Looping 800 Times ! ! ! (on totally unrelated "fire" soundtrack)

*2012-03-27*

This may actually be the least worst of the fire apps so far. But it's still a far cry from being anything like a real video of a real fire.
It's actually just a 1.5 second loop play 500 times across the soundtrack of a totally unrelated fire and as such seems to condescend to the intelligence of the consumer.
It's just okay, does the job I suppose, but come on guys, you can do way better than this!

### 4/5 — Love it

*2012-01-07, version 3.7*

Maybe it's not perfect, but on a cold winter night, I love turning on my fireplace for a few minutes and just relaxing with it. BTW, much less smoke than with my wood-burning fires.

### 3/5 — Ok

*2011-12-22, version 3.7*

Got it for the airplay in our living room. Hops right on, though it's a little weird, because instead of just "broadcasting" the playing app, it instead plays a 20 min movie of the same fire. Also you can't change the fire and on a 40" ws, looks a bit pixelated. Still worth .99.

### 4/5 — Great for any mood setter or for those cold winter days.

*2011-12-06, version 3.7*

Great app, I use it in the winter on my tv when I have family over. I also use it when it's just me and my girlfriend to set the mood. Great app but would like a few other fire choices, but other then that it's an awesome app.

### 3/5 — It's a good start

*2011-11-27, version 3.7*

Needs to be more hi def.. Even if you have to shorten the loop to 10 min. Others I've tried have better def for large tv's but the loop is too short and AppleTv displays that dumb progress bar every 30secs when it loops. 10min and high def would be the sweet spot IMO.... Also, pandora support would be cool. ESP for Christmas..

### 3/5 — Too crackly to be truly relaxing

*2011-11-26*

Love the concept! Love the fire until you listen to it for more than 5 minutes. Real fires do not crackle this much or this consistently so it starts to make me feel like I need to watch out for flying cinders. Still have though.

### 4/5 — LOVE IT

*2011-11-15*

Everybody should have this app for a christmas gift happy holidays ya all.

### 2/5 — ganz nett

*2011-10-22*

bin von der Auflösung enteucht! ist pixelhaft. kann ich so nicht wirklich weiterempfehlen.

### 4/5 — Fully functional app with just average graphics

*2011-09-05*

I own this app and A Very Cozy Fireplace HD, so I will do a comparison. The hardware I am using is an iPod Touch 4th Generation 64GB. First off, I want to say that all of the features on this app work great and I have had no problems with it. Additionally, the ability to use playlists from my iTunes library makes this app superior to most. Of the two apps, this one contains many more features when compared to A Very Cozy Fireplace. The fireplace noise was soothing and relaxing, though at times there was a little too much snapping (Use some dryer wood?). The authors get 5 stars for using 30 minutes of unique sound/video. The reason this app only gets 4 stars is because the quality of the video image is somewhat subpar. This is one area where A Very Cozy Fireplace HD is superior. Also, a 200MB + app size also a bit ridiculous considering what it does. Now the size is not a big deal for my 64GB equipment, but if I owned an iPhone, this would be unacceptable. In my opinion, the author needs to upgrade the graphics to Retina 4 display and find a way to compress the video size to be more space economical. Then I would give it 5 stars.

### 1/5 — Apple TV

*2019-01-02*

Does not work with my Apple TV , found another app that works great with Apple TV

### 1/5 — Biggest waste of money

*2017-01-16*

The picture isn't in focus! It's low quality video. I am very disappointed. Update with better quality please...

### 1/5 — Really Bad Graphics

*2014-10-14*

Not worth the money. Graphics are blurry and pixelated.

### 1/5 — Fire Provides No Real Warmth or Heat

*2012-02-14, version 3.7*

The sound effects and visuals in this app are nice -- but no heat is produced by the fire! My girlfriend and I literally froze at our cabin in Maine when we thought this app would keep us warm if we sat near it. I ended up making a real fire which took forever. Add in heat in an update and I'll gladly give out more stars.

### 1/5 — 256mb... Really?

*2011-12-20*

This app is as large as a racing game, and it's just some flames and crackling noises. My phone is crammed already - i'll be getting a 30mb fireplace app.

### 1/5 — Poor video quality

*2011-12-18*

Not worth it as the video quality is very poor. You would expect that everything would be HD these day!

### 1/5 — useless

*2011-03-12, version 3.6*

How many times are you actualy going to use this? Do you realy have notthing beter to do than cuddle with your iPhone/ iPod? The screen on the device is way too small for an app like this, and it is a total wast of A FOURTH OF A GIGABITE! Does it realy take that much memory to make a tiney fire place? IT IS JUST A HALF HOUR LONG VIDEO. Total wast of time. DON'T BUY THIS!!!!!!!

### 1/5 — I used to like it, but it is now junk

*2010-05-02*

What reason on earth would the developer have to make this update only work on OS 3.1.3 and newer? This is pure BS, and there is no excuse. I still have the earlier app on both of my phones, but I have, for personal reasons, chosen not to update my OS to V3.1.3 to date.

This app is one of the few that insists on my buying into 3.1.3 in order to use the latest version of the app. It is pure nonsense. There is no technical reason for the limitation at all. Is Apple offering a bonus to developers who steer users to the latest version of the OS? In any event, if you choose to use anything other than the latest OS 3.1.3, this app is not for you. The developers are either lazy, or owned. Either scenario is less than OK in my book....

### 2/5 — Very Low Resolution

*2020-02-13*

If you have a 4K TV this will make you sad.

### 2/5 — Airplay ❌

*2017-12-31*

Won’t connect to my appleTv! Waste of money!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Warmth

*2014-12-13*

You can almost feel the heat coming of this fireplace app.

### 5/5 — Fun

*2014-05-08*

Fun🔥

### 5/5 — Makes me Sleepy

*2013-03-07, version 3.7*

I really like it, my folks told me bout it and I luv it!!!! I fall asleep when I hear the cracklings in the fire, so relaxing, I like how it doesn't turn off because I abandoned it! Awesome app!!!!😴

### 5/5 — Fire!

*2012-10-21*

Neat. More holiday music selection would be nice. Also do you think it would be good to be able to add a log or rearrange the fire, options for crackle noises, a festive party in the background ? This particular app has potential to be a heart warming favorite. But please don't make the same mistake as everyone else, by improving the app but leaving the original foundation behind. It's a great app- add on don't remove .

### 5/5 — Cool

*2012-06-06*

This is a warm and cozy app that allows you to have a fireplace wherever you go. The beach, your bedside table, at work, in your car. It's just plain cool!!

### 5/5 — Charming App!

*2012-02-13*

Love this! It's perfect for nights when I'm stuck in my office writing while my husband and son are enjoying our real fireplace. It's also great to fall asleep to - the built in timer comes in very handy- for this - as does the ability to add songs to the queue. It's amazing how much better my favorite songs sound with the sound of a crackling fire in the background.

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2011-12-22, version 3.7*

Shocked that there aren't more ratings on this. Set your own Christmas music and prop the iPad on the dresser and give the wife a good rogering! Buy it!

### 5/5 — Fire place

*2011-11-20, version 3.7*

This is one great fire place my husband and I use it all the time. You can added music to it you can set the tone on how romantic you want your fire place to be I think I will take to the job during our staff dinner this is one great fire play every child, mother, father, grandmother, grandfather and great parents will love it I give it 10 stars

### 5/5 — I LOVE listening to music while on apps and Love This app

*2011-06-16, version 3.6*

LOL only think thing I wanted to play for my music while on this app involved fire... hehehe
(don't play ice ice baby while listening to this ROFL)

### 5/5 — Nice

*2011-06-14*

The description I read of this app made NO promises about compatibility with AirPlay, and I actually see the reflection of a happy DOG curled up near this fire (OK maybe it is a cat) so as far as I am concerned, this app is functioning within stated specs. Resolution is best on an iPhone, but I am running it on an iPad, and it gives me what I was hoping for: the sight and sound of a crackling fire, with background music options to boot. Good job, nice app.
