### 2/5 — Doesn't do Nest justice

*2026-08-25, version 2.26.0*

The app seems like a clean design, but functionality is a bit useless. The only decent thing is getting notified if my wifi is down. The alarm mute feature is broken. I get a notice 1 minute after it goes off (burnt toast) and having shut them off manually. I don't even think the "Mute" alarm feature works on the app.

### 3/5 — Works but bring back humidity reading

*2026-08-23, version 2.26.0*

Bring back humidity reading. This only stopped showing up at the latest update

### 2/5 — Perpetually OFFLINE

*2026-08-22, version 2.26.0*

The new name for the app is weird, sounds like “Life Alert”. It should have been atleast relevant to thermostats! Also the wifi connection is EXTREMELY INCONSISTENT, it keeps losing connection and going offline, I literally renamed it “Dumb Thermostat”.

### 2/5 — Constant disconnection

*2026-08-22, version 2.26.0*

Thermostat continually disconnects from phone app forcing reinstall. Frustrating

### 3/5 — Not great

*2026-08-19, version 2.26.0*

Way more false alarms than Nest

### 3/5 — Very convenient

*2026-08-19, version 2.26.0*

Very convenient and I would really really like it if it didn’t go off-line.

### 2/5 — Constantly signs you out

*2026-08-18, version 2.26.0*

A nuisance, covers the basics

### 2/5 — False alarms

*2026-08-16, version 2.26.0*

Seem to be getting false alarms that cannot be silenced. Pressing the buttons doesn’t work and the app is useless to silence. Has happened twice this morning alone. Detectors installed by a professional licensed electrician and a technician has been here for assistance yet still happening and the app doesn’t work to help so have to listen to blaring noise until it stops on its own. At least with alarms from ten years ago you could take the detector down and pull the battery out.

### 2/5 — Away/home

*2026-08-16, version 2.26.0*

The app is terrible at recognizing when someone is home unless you open the app itself.

### 3/5 — Used to love this app

*2026-08-15, version 2.26.0*

But seems like the latest upgrade removed the humidity readings, which was one of the best features!

### 4/5 — Good app but integrations could be better

*2026-08-14, version 2.26.0*

The app has an intuitive experience but I am unable to control fan mode using smart assistants such as Google and Alexa. Samsung smart things doesn’t even add my T6 smart thermostats. Temperature and heat/cool mode control work fine.

### 1/5 — Humidity Removed, Boilerplate Response

*2026-08-14, version 2.26.0*

I actually really liked this app for the most part. In fact it helped inform me of some issues I wasn’t even aware of in my cooling. I’m lucky I got my dehumidifier in just days before they elected to remove the humidity from the display.

I’m writing this display to add in the pile on in hopes they apply a hotfix to revert this. The boilerplate response to check your physical thermostat (or call and be told the same thing) is infuriating. Obviously this is affecting many many customers and the CS response is to fluff us off. Disappointing.

If they revert his I’ll bring it up to 4* maybe 5* if the dashboard showed an active status. For example telling you when the system is actively cooling/hearing as opposed to just on/off/auto.

### 2/5 — Think I’m going back to my next thermostat.

*2026-08-14, version 2.26.0*

None of the temperatures match from the dashboard to the priority screen. My app stopped calculating run time. Says my ac only ran 3 hrs on Friday and well I live in Az and it’s 108 outside. App should also give more info on runtime, like how often it’s on high or low speeds. I guess just get it to work correctly first. How do we contact developers of app. Would be nice if we had the choice to use the original app as it worked better.

### 2/5 — False alarms.

*2026-08-13, version 2.26.0*

All of a sudden I keep getting notifications saying there’s smoke and smoke is rising. A few times when nobody is home causing some anxious moments while I try to figure out and check my cameras to see what’s going on. The smoke detector is definitely not a nest protect replacement and the app is now making it worse .

### 3/5 — What Happened?

*2026-08-12, version 2.26.0*

The app was amazing until the humidity level was removed. Where did it go?

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Humidity Reading

*2026-08-23, version 2.26.0*

8/23/36 update: You keep giving the same reply to the humidity reading not being displayed on the app anymore & what you’re suggesting is NOT the issue. We are all not able to see anything displayed for humidity. Not even the word humidity. We were able to before your last update at the beginning of August. Fix this bug via another update! It’s not our t stat settings, it’s your app & we shouldn’t have to call the 1-800 # to get this problem fixed that wasn’t a problem before.

The humidity reading has been completely removed from the main dashboard now. I’m not sure if this is a glitch or a permanent change but please bring it back.

### 1/5 — Why remove indoor RH%

*2026-08-22, version 2.26.0*

I’m an HVAC contractor who recommended these thermostats to customers specifically because I could remotely view indoor humidity. Removing humidity from the app eliminated one of the most useful features for HVAC professionals. I personally own the thermostat, and this change is enough for me to switch to ecobee. More importantly, when customers ask me which smart thermostat I recommend, I’ll now recommend ecobee instead. Removing functionality from existing products isn’t an improvement. Please restore the indoor humidity reading. Went from 5 stars to 1 in just one update.

### 1/5 — Stop changing the app

*2026-08-22, version 2.26.0*

Resideo used to be something else. They changed the name and app , fine. Log in once in a long time and now it’s changed to First Alert. Whatever. Get signed into First Alert to get a notification that it will be a new app in a few weeks called Resideo Connect or something. Get a grip and stick with something.

### 1/5 — Sucks for a single device application

*2026-08-21, version 2.26.0*

It’s too busy for a single device application. I should be able to customize my dashboard. Get rid of the “Learn More” menu since I don’t need to “ learn more” with a single application. The app should be backwards compatible with the TCC app. Don’t like it.

### 1/5 — Sync issues

*2026-08-20, version 2.26.0*

Completed setup and will not sync

### 1/5 — Bad smart home support

*2026-08-20, version 2.26.0*

Every other smart home app (google home, alexa, etc.) only is able to work with the Honeywell Home app. There is no option to link with the new First Alert app. For new users this means you are stuck with this app until they decide to integrate it with other apps. Please fix this.

Edit: at least the support is good. hopefully this is more straightforward OR better documentation online or in the physical manual per device

### 1/5 — Absolutely horrible app

*2026-08-19, version 2.26.0*

Not sure which is worse, the app or the product. Luckily, it’s not about saving lives or preventing fires…oh. Wait.

### 1/5 — Absolute Garbage

*2026-08-17, version 2.26.0*

I don't know who the developers working on this app are, but they absolutely do not know how to test an app before putting out a release. This latest update keeps on freezing after opening up the app, typing inputs are significantly delayed or causing the app to freeze. Switching between locations multiple times causes the app to error out by having the display jitter. Honestly, there needs to be better app testers, especially those that know the products and the use cases associated with it, instead of just making an app for the sake of there being an app. The experience of the app has continously gotten worse overtime with use.

### 1/5 — False alarms

*2026-08-16, version 2.26.0*

Brand new unit giving off false alarms

### 1/5 — Extremely poor products

*2026-08-15, version 2.26.0*

Extremely poor products and even worse product support.

### 5/5 — Love the App

*2026-08-22, version 2.26.0*
