### 2/5 — Used to work great…

*2026-08-26, version 6.1.0*

I feel like this is becoming one of those apps that gets worse with every update. The lag in mapping on both mobile and desktop versions has become so bad that it is no longer usable in a practical setting. My department purchased this software to help make our jobs safer and more efficient, which it was until recent months. Now, I can practically arrive at an incident before the map and preplan load.

### 2/5 — Stop Changing Interface

*2026-08-21, version 6.1.0*

For public safety use, consistency should be a paramount performance feature of any app. First responders shouldn't need to re-learn the layout of the interface in the middle of an event (due to a new version roll-out). App should be simple, consistent and to the point of incident command. Enough with the revolving door of app updates, please.

### 2/5 — UI needs work

*2026-08-19, version 6.0.9*

User interface isn’t intuitive. Overly complicated. It works, if you love entering copious detailed info.

### 2/5 — Notifications

*2026-08-12, version 6.0.9*

First Due needs to develop a functional way for users to mute app notifications during scheduled times of the week.

For example, I do not want to receive First Due notifications when I am off the clock. The app should allow users to create a weekly notification schedule where they can select the specific days and hours when notifications are allowed.

A simple “Notification Schedule” or “Quiet Hours” feature would make the app much more useful, especially for departments with shift-based staffing or members who are not on duty 24/7.

Please consider adding the ability to automatically mute notifications outside of a user’s scheduled working hours

### 3/5 — Need more than one dept

*2026-08-07, version 6.0.9*

Biggest complaint is that you can’t have more thsn one dept. on the app

### 2/5 — Hard to read

*2026-08-06, version 6.0.9*

The words are too small. It's hard to find pertinent info quickly. Change this format it is terrible. Please look at bryix app and model after it please!!!

### 3/5 — Vibrate setting

*2026-08-06, version 6.0.9*

Can you add functionality so when you receive an alert, if critical alerts and sound are disabled, you can enable vibration? It would be very helpful in some situations.

### 3/5 — Crashing

*2026-07-27, version 6.0.7*

The app is constantly crashing as soon as I open it.

### 2/5 — Latest update is awful

*2026-07-25, version 6.0.7*

Not sure what happened with the latest update, but it’s terrible. Assigned units are not accurate, constantly have to refresh. Complete opposite of “Improved incident list and app stability”. I wish I could take the update back 👎🏽 Come on First Due. Fix it.

### 2/5 — UI

*2026-07-22, version 6.0.7*

The user interface is one of the worst on the market. Reviews are mid cause Admin votes it up but line guys vote it down. Packaged prettily to entice Admin to buy, but terrible for the end-user. Bring back ESO and TargetSolutions. 2 stars cause "eVerYThInG iS INteGrAtEd"

### 4/5 — Close

*2026-07-21, version 6.0.7*

I like the functionality up to a point. You need to read and take to heart the recommendations to add a dark mode. I heard you say it’s difficult, but you didn’t say impossible. Start with one platform and move on.
I’d love for notifications to be modifiable in the app so that I don’t have to listen to all my devices trying to tell me there’s a call. I want my work phone to be able to tell me everything but my personal phone and tablet to only show me the fun stuff like fires and boat calls. I don’t want to have multiple aliases so I can control each device on my account.
And work with first due to add some useful information to the incidents. We need times to be available. We don’t all have Command and have easy access to vehicle times and statuses. It’s not practical to have each unit choose their status when dispatch does it as part of their job. Our CAD sucks pretty hard but there has to be an easy way to direct that data you/they already consume.

You push out enough updates so you’re working on improvements. Here are a couple helpful hints. Don’t be too surprised if you see this in the Suggestions section on the support site.

Thanks
Chris

### 2/5 — Slow to update

*2026-07-17, version 6.0.7*

If you rely on this for CAD notes and updates, there is a delay. Also don’t like that it sounds tones again when I open the app

### 3/5 — Solid

*2026-07-16, version 6.0.7*

Pretty good overall, but can we please get customizable alerts, sounds and vibrations. This is useful overnight but not when I can’t change the settings to work in different environments.

### 2/5 — Just switched to this app

*2026-07-03, version 6.0.5*

It does what it’s supposed to do, but the UI/UX really needs some serious work.

We switched over from Active911, and I can think of 5 things that are worse here and more annoying to me as a firefighter.

I will email the developer my experience and hopefully some changes will be made and I can update this review to a shining 5 stars.

### 2/5 — Design & Look

*2026-07-01, version 6.0.5*

The look/interface of this website/App is poor. They should probably ask AI to do it for them because they can’t seem to make it appealing in the year 2026. Disappointing!

### 3/5 — Great app with a few hiccups

*2026-07-01, version 6.0.5*

The initial alerting, incident and hydrant mapping, and preplanning options are great. - I mean awesome! However, silencing the app could be a simple as turning your phone on silent. But there’s too many, unnecessary steps in the app to silence it. They also only alert one time per incident. So don’t expect any incident update alerts if there are any.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-06-29, version 6.0.5*

Worst app I’ve ever used, AI can’t pronounce streets, it seems like it’s down every other week

### 1/5 — Absolute garbage

*2026-06-27, version 6.0.5*

Our department just ditched Who’s Responding for First Due, and it is an absolute trainwreck. Calling this a functional app is a joke—it’s just a lazy, half-baked website shoved into an app wrapper.

The UI/UX looks like it was programmed by an intern in 2005. It’s completely unintuitive, actively user-hostile, and the alerts constantly go off for phantom calls that don't even exist. It is a textbook waste of taxpayer dollars and a massive downgrade.

I’m refusing to touch this piece of garbage and sticking to Who’s Responding until management inevitably forces this trash down our throats.

### 2/5 — Good Concept

*2026-06-23, version 6.0.4*

Good Concept, but it just doesn’t work well on mobile devices. Sometimes people don’t get the call at all, or get the call hours late.

Even on a computer it bugs out and doesn’t work as expected in terms of making reports.

Drains battery and lags a lot and often takes a few minutes to load on 100 Up/Down and 12Ping internet speeds.

Good concept but needs major improvement.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Needs works.

*2026-08-22, version 6.1.0*

It’s not user friendly. Needs a better, less complicated layout.

### 1/5 — Firefighter paramedic

*2026-08-21, version 6.1.0*

Software is horrible. Many fields are redundant. It seems that a generic software program was thrown together and let Fire departments deal with it. Do not recommend!

### 1/5 — Sales team better than software and app

*2026-08-21, version 6.1.0*

Don’t let your department heads be fooled by this software. It doesn’t work well and their support teams are bad. Their sales team might be the best in the world, props to them.

### 1/5 — Hate it

*2026-08-12, version 6.0.9*

We switched from another system to first due, and imo it’s horrible.

### 1/5 — Battery killer

*2026-08-07, version 6.0.9*

This app will take your phone from full to dead within a couple hours. Hate it. Rover was better.

### 1/5 — Never worked for our organization

*2026-08-04, version 6.0.8*

We switched to FD a few years ago. Needless to say we’re still usning out pagers. FD has been relegated to a messaging app. We’re moving to another solution. Terrible customer support.

### 1/5 — Cannot receive notifications

*2026-07-29, version 6.0.8*

The app has been nothing but buggy for me. Primarily the issue is not receiving notifications, despite phone and app settings being properly adjusted. I must refresh the incident list to see dispatched calls. Please fix this, it’s a big hassle. These are 911 situations.

### 1/5 — TERRIBLE

*2026-07-17, version 6.0.7*

If I could give this zero stars I would!

### 1/5 — Overpromised and under delivered

*2026-07-15, version 6.0.7*

App is terrible. Glitchy and laggy all around. Makes filling out both regular fire runs and PCRs a nightmare. Seriously, the paperwork side is awful for OPS. The AI is a joke. Training is needlessly difficult to log. What else can I say?

### 1/5 — Useless

*2026-07-08, version 6.0.5*

If you’re looking for an app that doesn’t notify you of calls and a messaging board that doesn’t work, you’ve found it here.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — only app that fire uses

*2026-08-10, version 6.0.9*

using this app everyday, is it perfect ? no but better have something than nothing. addresses are wrong sometimes but they have been fixing bugs and hopefully it will eventually be better.

### 5/5 — Works well

*2026-05-29, version 6.0.3*

Better than active 911

### 5/5 — The negative reviews are way overblown

*2026-05-09, version 6.0.1*

The app works great for notifications. Period. There’s been little issues over time but the developers seem to fix them quickly whenever they pop up.

### 5/5 — Favorite

*2026-04-21, version 6.0.0*

You’ll see bad reviews and that’s likely just due to preference from other competitors.
I love it. GPS mapping has been more accurate than the competitors and the user interphase works well. Hydrants locations and prefire plans are conveniently placed. Keep in mind the phone is supposed to be a reference. However my phone has better service than the laptops on the engines so I use my phone primarily.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2026-04-02, version 5.9.7*

Better then all other apps for fire EMS.

### 5/5 — Don’t believe the negative reviews.

*2025-05-29*

This app is by far the best of the emergency alerting apps on the market. First Due offers a complete app with almost all of the functionality that you can do in a web browser. They have come a long way in the past 6 months, and the necessary field based functions are mostly native, rather than opening in a web browser within the app. Ignore the negative reviews here, they are either by personnel who don’t understand how the technology works, or have unrealistic expectations.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback, we continue to work on enhancing the platform and provide a better service.

### 5/5 — I like it

*2025-02-11, version 5.8.0*

Any chance the app will be available for the Apple Watch, at least for emergency call alerts with addresses?

Thank you.

### 5/5 — Way better than ESO.

*2025-02-01, version 5.7.1*

Thanks for actually having an app

### 5/5 — 👍🏼

*2025-01-10, version 5.7.1*

Hands down the best alerting app I’ve ever used. It has completely changed how our organization does business for the better!

### 5/5 — Valuable Resource!

*2024-05-21, version 5.5.9*

This app has propelled our organization to the next level of pre-planning and fire inspections. The app stays updated and their support team is responsive. There are so many incredible features packed into this tool.
