### 5/5 — My kids like this

*2012-08-02*

This app is a fun way for young children to become familiar with their letters. It encourages recognition and helps them to differentiate between the letter shapes.

### 4/5 — Easy for my 2 yr old

*2012-06-27*

Easy for my 2 year to operate with matching. Not sure how much she is actually learning the letters and just matching but she and my 4 yr old both enjoy it

### 5/5 — Best Toddler App Out There*****

*2012-06-08*

My granddaughter absolutely adores this game and song! The simplicity of the game is perfect for those chubby toddler hands as they match the letters. I also bought the animal word game.

### 5/5 — Fab little app for phonics

*2012-06-06*

After learning that I could change the names of the letters to their sounds (phonics), I would absolutely recommend this app as a Secondary English teacher with a two year old. It's a simple game that does the job, my 24 month old could match the letters after a few games showing she was beginning to recognise the shapes of letters. Hopefully she will play longer as she gets older.

### 5/5 — First letters and phonics

*2012-03-21*

This app is great for those just learning their letters. The alphabet song plays as it shows each letter, encouraging letter recognition during the song. The game involves matching identical letters and then provides a word that starts with that letter. In the settings, you are able to change the game to match just lowercase letters, just uppercase letters, or lowercase letters to uppercase letters. You can also set it so it says the letter name or the letter sound. Perfect for the young children, it keeps it simple, but allows for growth development as they are learning their letters. The only change I would like to see would be for the option to hear both the letter name and letter sound during the game.

### 5/5 — Great little ones

*2012-03-18*

This app is great for teaching letters of the alphabet, including recognition of the letters.

### 4/5 — focused app

*2012-03-17*

This app has kids matching letters and listening to letter name and sounds. It also plays the alphabet song to a good beat. I like that you can change the settings to have kids presented with how many letters to match at a time. You can also choose to hear the letter name or the phonics sounds. This app is great for 2 or 3 year olds.

### 5/5 — Customizable to fit your students needs!

*2012-03-17*

Wow! I love how you can customize this app to fit your students needs. I would recomend this to teachers and parents with young children learning their letters (both uppercase and lowercase) and sounds that the letters make!! I also love the option where you have blank tiles and the child has to tap on them to find the matches...This will really help my higher level preschoolers!!!

### 5/5 — This app help my kid to know how to read I'll recommend it.

Thank you

### 1/5 — Dont get this App

*2012-09-28, version 2.2*

This app only has one game and the ABC's song. Your kid will get bored after a day

### 1/5 — Lame

*2012-06-25, version 2.0*

Worst app. / total scam. It only gives u small letter and the abc song if u want the capitalize letters then you need to upgrade which cost more. Not happy

### 1/5 — So disappointed

*2012-02-09, version 2.0*

I do not recommend. Too simple. Only one alphabet song, one matching word on each letter. We can find better one for free.

### 1/5 — Poor

*2010-08-16*

Does not do as promised. No sounds of the letters ie phonics, just percussive noises. Useless for learning letter sounds.

### 2/5 — Just OK

*2010-03-01*

I thought this would be an improvement from the other "First Words" apps that my 3 yr old enjoys... (which is all about spelling, not phonics) But it's no improvement at all. This doesn't even touch on the double sounds that vowels make. It's really basic letter sounds and matching. Not worth $1.99. Sure, the song is nice at the end, so this game is maybe worth $0.50.

### 2/5 — Their other app is much better...

*2010-02-08*

Dissapointed there isn't more to this app. Also purchased First Words. Our daughter prefers this one between the two. Not worth 2 bucks. MAYBE $1. Will most likely delete this one.

### 3/5 — Abc

*2012-10-11, version 2.2*

Good for my granddaughter's learning.

### 3/5 — Option for the song

*2010-08-02*

The abc song should be in the menu as my 1 year likes the song. to go through the entire alphabet is a liitle to wait for the song. Otherwise it would be 5 ******

### 4/5 — First Letters

*2012-08-02*

This is a great app for teaching Abc's and recognising lowercase and uppercase and variations in appearance of each letter.

### 4/5 — Ok game

*2012-07-26*

Nice learning game, my three year old really likes it, would be nice if there was more to it...like different words for the letters instead of the same ones every time

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great for a 1year old

*2013-03-28*

This is a very simple application, cleanly designed with appealing graphics, but effective. Great introductory learning app for babies that know the alphabet and ready to use a tablet or phone.

It has 2 parts: Letter matching pairs and the alphabet song.

Pros:
* Phonetic mode (most common sound of a letter) is available, learning the letter sounds is probably the best way to ready children for reading
* The alphabet song can be set to phonetic mode as well, only app that seems to have it
* The letter case of matching pairs can be customized

Cons:
* Baby learned the phonetic sounds of the letters so fast, she moved to First Words Pro, a pricy but worthwhile app.

### 5/5 — Love it

My autistic son loves this game. Now he knows his abc.

### 5/5 — Good

*2012-09-19, version 2.2*

Good stuff
Appreciate the latest update
My two year old loves it
I do to

Thanks

### 5/5 — Great and simple

*2012-09-05*

My toddler loves this game! I do wish that there was a way to control how many letters appear in the matching game before the song comes on. For example, it would be great if I could just have the first ten letters match before the song comes on, because sometimes the game is just too long for my toddler.

### 5/5 — Awesome app

*2012-08-26*

My autistic 3 year old can sing the whole alphabet because of this app!!
