First Light: Reclaim Your First Hour Stop scrolling. Start praying. Most apps are designed to steal your attention. First Light is designed to give it back to God. Built for the modern Catholic, First Light helps you bridge the gap between "wanting to pray" and "having a prayer life" through a structured, liturgical discipline that puts prayer before the noise of the day. PRAYER FIRST: PROTECT YOUR PEACE The greatest obstacle to morning prayer is the immediate pull of notifications. First Light gives you a simple, beautiful routine to open before anything else, so your first minutes belong to God. The Benefit: You reclaim your brain’s "Golden Hour." By meeting Christ before the demands of the world rush in, you train your mind to seek peace in Him first. A DISCIPLINED MORNING ROUTINE First Light guides you through a five-step architecture designed to anchor your day: The Daily Word: Read the full USCCB Liturgical Readings. You aren't just reading; you are praying in sync with the Universal Church. The Morning Offering: Surrender your day’s work, joys, and sufferings. Active Gratitude: Identify 5 daily blessings to rewire your brain for positivity and hope. Intentional Goals: Set 3 high-level goals. Align your productivity with your purpose. The Day Plan: A simple checklist to ensure your most important tasks aren't forgotten. THE EVENING EXAMEN: REST IN HIS PEACE End the day with intention. The Evening Routine helps you set the day down and process it through the Ignatian Examen. The Benefit: Higher sleep quality and reduced anxiety. By reviewing your failures and God's grace before bed, you "clear the deck" for a restful night in His care. BIBLE PROGRESS TRACKER: READ THE WHOLE WORD Don't be intimidated by the 73 books of the Catholic Canon. Our tracker maps your journey through the entire Bible. The Benefit: A sense of accomplishment and spiritual literacy. You’ll see exactly how much of the Story of Salvation you’ve uncovered, encouraging a lifelong habit of Scripture study. THE PRAYER BANK: AN ANCIENT ARSENAL Access a curated library of traditional Catholic prayers (Rosary, Memorare, St. Michael, etc.), each accompanied by its history and "When to Pray" guidance. The Benefit: You are never at a loss for words. Whether you are in spiritual combat or quiet adoration, you have the right prayer at your fingertips. PRIVACY-FIRST DISCIPLINE Your prayers are between you and God. Local Storage: Your journal entries and intentions never leave your device. No Accounts: No sign-up, no tracking, no data selling.
