First Nations Storybook – Bush Cree edition houses a collection of books written and produced in the Cree language. Each book features colourful illustrations and Cree text as read by a fluent Cree speaker. The collection includes stories as told by elders, parents and students, local legends and tales that reflect the traditions, values and experiences of the northern aboriginal. The FN Storybook Project is intended to support individuals who are intent on learning and speaking their ancestral language. This project was developed by the South Slave Divisional Education Council with funding provided by the Government of the Northwest Territories.
