I didn't realize they updated it to add in study series from other churches!! I was so encouraged to see studies from all the different churches we've been apart of over the years! Even more, their are SO MANY extra studies, from so many different sources. I'm looking forward to using one of them in my study tomorrow! Yes, they are $.99. WELL worth it. Thank you to everyone who has worked on these. Makes me feel closer to my brothers and sisters to see what they are teaching in their churches! :) I'll be checking it regularly to buy more!! ### 5/5 — Best dollar you could spend! *2013-02-03* For less than the cost of a Pepsi you get a great study series, with commentary, scriptures comes up by a touch. Great as reference during studies and for personal review. Just went over the Holy Spirit study by Hampton Roads and saw some insights that I will include in future studies. It only contains the study from 1993 and the font is wonky. ICOC is a cult anyway **Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback — you're right that the app had fallen out of date, including only having the 1993 study and some font issues. That's been addressed in the newest version, which includes additional studies and a properly updated, readable font. I'll leave the comment about ICOC aside, since this app is meant to be a neutral resource for the studies themselves rather than a place to debate the organization. I'd encourage you to download the latest version and see the difference for yourself. I'd also genuinely like to know your home church, as I'm adding new study series going forward and want to represent a range of communities well. If the update addresses what you ran into, I'd appreciate it if you'd reevaluate your rating to reflect the current version. Sincerely, Ed Partch Denver, CO ### 1/5 — Needs software update *2024-05-12* I’ve shared this app with a handful of folks who are unable to see the studies in the list view and thus unable to use the app as intended. It looks like this app isn’t maintained currently (4 years since the last update) and potentially the new iOS versions we have are not compatible with the current software. Hopefully that will change soon since this can be such a useful resource for folks. **Developer response:** Thanks for the honest feedback, and I'm sorry the app let you and the folks you shared it with down. You were right that it went a long time without updates — our main programmer stepped away from the project for several years, which is exactly why compatibility slipped. The good news is First Principles is actively maintained again, and version 4.0 has been rebuilt from the ground up for current iOS. Please download the latest version and let me know how it runs for you. Also, I'd love to know your home church — I'm adding new study series going forward and want to make sure we're covering what communities like yours are actually using. If you get a chance to try the update, I'd really appreciate it if you'd reevaluate your rating and let me know if it reflects your experience with the new version. I see each icoc church has changed them and reorganized them, or even deleted some entire studies.. proves the ICOC is full of autonomous congregations, each doing as they see fit. If you want the original studies reach out and I’ll send them to you or even take you through them :) 6145512200! Since the last update, you have to pay for anything and everything. Sorry. Could be for serious students but does not apply if you are just seeking to supplement your personal bible study. ### 3/5 — Bugs *2020-02-12* I’m only seeing blank screen when I try to open studies. So excited to use these as I study with people. **Developer response:** Sorry you ran into blank screens trying to open studies — that's frustrating, especially when you're excited to actually use them. That issue should be resolved in the newest version, which was rebuilt to fix long-standing display bugs like this one. Development stalled for a while after our main programmer moved on, but the app is back in active development now. Please grab the update and try again, and let me know if you hit any more snags. I'd also love to know your home church, since I'm adding new study series and want to prioritize the ones that will help churches like yours. If the bugs are resolved on your end, I'd be grateful if you'd reevaluate your rating to reflect the current version.
