Yes, I’d recommend the game. Yes, there is a lot of paid content. Though, I like to think of the current state of the game as a free trial to a paid game, considering that you may also just pay once and unlock everything, if I’m remembering correctly. It’s a wonderful game with a great message behind it, genuinely interesting newsletters, and more. Even with so much paid content and more being added constantly, the game is absolutely one I’d recommend, even as a free game only. I can’t recommend this game enough, it genuinely is worth the 10 minutes or so per round, and it really is just a wonderful little game. 10/10, I’d recommend with every chance I get. ### 3/5 — A Great Game, Although… *2026-08-01, version 4.11.6* I’ve been experiencing an issue where I can’t boot the game up after the first time I opened it. I enjoyed the few times I was able to play the game. Although, I’m discouraged from playing it any further because of this inconvenience. I think it would help to add some more features to make it more dynamic. For example, maybe some nations could have handicaps like slower research time. Maybe some countries could have uranium and plutonium deposits so when you expand into them you can build weapons faster.
