### 5/5 — Just wow

*2015-03-20, version 5.6*

Thanks to this app my 2 year old knows her abcs upper and lower case. She spells everything on sight. We try to keep her time limited to electronics. It's nice to have a good educational app for when she does use it.

### 5/5 — Absolutely great learning game!!!!

*2015-03-02, version 5.6*

My 18 month old loves this game! So easy for him and saying the letters helps his abc's tremendously!! We upgraded and so glad we did! Would love to see a section for fruits too. Love this game for my toddler!

### 5/5 — Fun and encouraging

*2014-12-29, version 5.6*

My 2 year old daughter loves this game. It is amazing to see her put the letters in the right spot.

### 5/5 — Responsive and Fun with lots of Options

*2014-11-25, version 5.6*

Great app with logical parental controls and many options. With or w/o hints, short, long or random length words, force left to right or random. My son has "graduated" through the different options and chooses this app over others. It's easy to understand what to do, good feedback for errors, quick response when touching and dragging the letters. Also offers categories for what words you spell, i.e. home, colors, animals, etc. Or choose all words and get random mix. Nice options to keep the game fresh or growing with the child.
It's really worth it to get the Deluxe version. App works the same on iPad and iPhone and my son doesn't care which device he's on as long as he can play. The biggest thing is he is spelling these words outside of the app now and isn't that the point? Win.

### 5/5 — Teaches kids to sight read! Great app!!

*2014-08-10, version 5.6*

### 5/5 — My 2 year old loves it!

*2013-08-08, version 5.5*

He just turned two last month and found the lite version on my tablet. He sat and figured out each word in it by himself. After he finished playing it, he wanted more so (and I don't normally do this) I broke down and bought it. Best $5 I have spent on an app in years! He's already been through the vehicles and color parts by himself, and just started back on the vehicles. I'm lucky to have gotten the tablet time to write this review. Very easy for a two year old to play, and he's getting the matching down and recognizing sounds that the letters make after one day already. Kudos and thank you for a great and fun learning tool!

### 1/5 — Not multilingual as promised :(

*2015-05-31, version 5.6*

I was invited to upgrade to the Deluxe version after being really impressed by the multilingual tag on the sampler app (it said available in 5 languages!) but sadly this expensive version in only in English - Very disappointing :(

### 1/5 — 最悪

### 1/5 — Phonics issue makes it a ripoff

*2012-06-20*

I love this app and use it with my autistic son. The fact that many words disappear when switching to phonics mode has been known to me for quite some time, and I hoped that this would eventually be fixed. It hasn't.

In fact, this company has decided that they've solved this problem in the newest update by "explaining" what happens to the words when changing to phonics mode, to "clear up any confusion." First off, they don't explain anything--there is no attempt at trying to inform consumers WHY they can't get the phonics option to work with all of the words, so in my opinion they haven't cleared up any confusion or explained anything. This company has insulted their customers.

Yes, this app is nice, but it still continues to be a rip off when 90% of the words disappear when you attempt to do something that is advertised as a selling point for the app. This has been a known issue for quite some time, and this is the first time this company has even mentioned it. And their attempt at addressing it is to say IN THE APP that most of the words disappear. Good Jon, guys! Don't actually fix the issue that most of your customers have been complaining about. No, don't do that. Nope, just redundantly tell us all about an issue that we already know exists and all feel ripped off for.

This is the reason for my low rating. Of this company wants to insult their customers, treat them like crap, and not actually fix a well known issue, then they deserve the crappy rating. I, and many other customers have been patient, waiting for this to be fixed, and it hasn't. Don't buy this app until the phonics issue is fixed, or this bait and switch company gives a detailed explanation why they can't fix it, because you will being ripped off like most of the rest of us who've purchased this app.

### 1/5 — Money grabbers

*2012-02-04, version 5.2*

Not happy. Just paid £2.99 for deluxe version, only to find out they want an extra £2.99 for EACH lanuage. NOT a good way of keeping your custumers happy.

### 1/5 — Don't buy from the UK

*2012-01-10, version 5.1*

Don't buy if you like in the UK. This is the USA way of spelling words. Wish I could get my money back.

### 1/5 — Well made but new version needs update

*2011-11-04, version 5.1*

Edit: Something seems to have gone wrong after the update. Am now missing many of the words we used to have. Colors and shapes are now mostly gone, only 3 words remain under the Others category.
-----------------------
This is a well thought out app and is fun for the kids to play. However it should be continually updated with new words for free instead of having to keep buying different versions. Also the pronunciation for "n" is a bit off. Sounds a bit too much like "m".

### 1/5 — Not phonics

*2011-01-07, version 2.0.2*

If it had phonics not letter names it would be great.

### 2/5 — Disappointing

*2015-04-12, version 5.6*

This version has awful (simple) graphics. Also, the bulk of the vocabulary is three-letter words, which are front-loaded at the beginning of the list. Further, you cannot randomize the word sequence, meaning you have to go through the three-letter words over and over again before you get to the longer-words. My little guy gets bored when he sees the same words over and over again.

### 2/5 — Ok

*2013-03-02, version 5.5*

Good for learning letters, beginning spelling, but not really worth $5 when you consider the amount of content compared to other games similarly priced. Stick with the free one.

### 2/5 — Ok

*2011-08-19, version 4.1*

Would be much better if most of the words were not in american. Like Hog instead of pig

### 5/5 — Awesome Learning App!

*2019-08-13, version 7.1*

My son is almost 4, he's autistic and loves letters. We've been told he'll probably learn to read and or spell before he is able to talk.
1. The app is easy to get the letters to snap correctly. Other apps are too precise and it causes frustration.
2. You can change the settings so that you can spell in any order or in order. After a while I switched it over to in order and my son has since mastered this spelling things like Pentagon or triangle or other big words in less than a couple seconds.
3. Just discovered you can toggle the hints. Now we've turned it up a notch. He has to spell the words from memory and in order.
4. When you tap the picture of the word you have to spell it says the name of the object out loud so they can also associate the sounds with the order of letters.

This app is well worth the money! The art and animation are very basic but that's OK because our goal is identification of the sounds, spelling, and further driving the recognition of letters.

Have had the app for about 1 year now.

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2017-02-17, version 7.0*

I got this app to help teach my son his lowercase letters (already knew uppercase) in a fun way. I love how customizable the app is! In a short time my son has learned many of these words.

### 5/5 — Love this app for early literacy skills!

*2016-03-06, version 6.0*

In settings there is an option to make the user spell from left to right. Everytime you select a letter, the app says it and then will spell the word and pronounce it. My three year is definitely engaged and will repeat the letters along with the app!

### 5/5 — Simple but (therefore) attention-grabbing

*2015-11-13, version 6.0*

4 thumbs UP! (2 from me, 2 from the kid)

Our 3.5-year-old will easily sit half an hour playing this game (he would keep going if I'd let him). I like its simplicity without extra fluff. All the setup options are very intuitive and straight forward too. Our son kept picking letters out of order, and it was bugging the OCD in me. So I went to settings, and there it was, the "left to right" option. Tada!

We've only played the shapes category so far, but I like the variety that goes beyond the regular, way too common geometric shapes.

Having the Japanese option was actually the determining factor for us, and I would think any parents who are raising their children in one of the optional languages would really appreciate the multi-lingual function.

We had the free version for a long time but now that our son is really picking up on letters and sounds, we decided to get the full version even though I knew the app was old with no updates of late. But lo and behold, I was pleased to see that it was just updated a month ago! Yay!

The animation and the drawings are very basic, which can be improved, I suppose. I do however like the bold (again, simple in a good way) colors.
