## What is FirstCinema?

FirstCinema is a film diary. Log every film you watch, give it a rating, write about it, and keep the running record of your taste in one place.

KEEP THE RECORD
Mark a film watched and it lands in your diary with the date. Rate in half stars. Like the ones that stayed with you. What you log builds a profile that reads like a year of moviegoing rather than a list of titles.

NEVER LOSE A RECOMMENDATION
Add anything to your watchlist the moment you hear about it, and it is waiting on your phone when you finally have a free evening.

WRITE ABOUT FILMS
Post a review, keep the spoilers behind a tap, and read what other members made of the same film. Comment on the ones worth arguing with.

BUILD LISTS
Collect films by whatever thread you like, from a director's run to everything you want to see before the end of the year. Save other members' lists and work through them.

DECIDE WHAT TO WATCH
Two ways out of the endless scroll. The roulette deals you a single film drawn from titles you would plausibly say yes to. The survey asks a few questions about tonight and answers with one title.

FOLLOW OTHER PEOPLE
An activity feed of everyone you follow, so a film reaches you because somebody whose taste you trust just watched it.

BROWSE THE CATALOGUE
Tens of thousands of films, searchable by title, cast, crew, genre or decade. See what is playing in cinemas now and what is coming next, for your part of the world. Open any actor or director and read their filmography.

IN YOUR LANGUAGE
The whole app in English, Spanish and French, including film titles, synopses and cast biographies wherever they have been translated.

FirstCinema is free to use and supported by ads. A free account is needed to log films, write reviews and build lists.

Your own artwork on any film
Open the poster picker from any film and take one of the alternate posters, or upload your own from your photo library. Your choice follows that film everywhere in the app, and a screen in Settings lists every film you have changed, next to the artwork it replaced.

New From Friends
The home screen now leads with the films the people you follow just watched, rated and reviewed, instead of a row of faces.

Search by genre
Browse straight into a genre from search, and sort films the way you want.

Rebuilt screens
Lists, Members and People have been rebuilt. Follow buttons sit in the list itself, People shows what each person is best known for, and Lists browses by tag.

Calmer notifications
Similar notifications stack into a single row, and the list is grouped into Today, Yesterday, This Week and Earlier.

Also in this release
Sign in with Google. Add links to your other profiles, YouTube included. Your Likes tab is now a filter on the watched shelf, so liked films sit with everything else you have seen. Appearance settings show each theme as a preview and each language in its own name. Plus fixes throughout.
