## What is Fish Check?

Know where to fish. Know when to go. Know what you've caught.
Fish Check is the fishing companion that works wherever you fish — plan your session before you leave, identify your catch on the water, and check the rules before anything goes in the cooler.

SPOT SCOUT — KNOW WHERE & WHEN TO FISH

Tell Spot Scout your target species, your area, and when you're free. It recommends the best local spots for that species and that day — using real tide data, plus wind and moon phase — along with the bite window to aim for and how to fish it (land-based or boat, bait and method suggestions).

No more guessing. No more trawling forums the night before.

FISH ID — KNOW YOUR CATCH

Snap a photo and identify your catch in seconds, trained across hundreds of species. Build your personal catch collection as you go.

REGULATIONS — KNOW THE RULES

Legal size and bag limits for many species and regions, surfaced right when you need them. Fish confidently and keep it legal.

WHY ANGLERS USE FISH CHECK

Spot recommendations matched to your target species — not generic maps
Real tide data, plus wind and moon phase
Size and possession limits for many species and your region
Works for land-based and boat anglers
Built by an angler, for anglers

Spot Scout draws on local knowledge and real environmental data to put the odds in your favour — conditions and structure, not guarantees. The fish still get a vote.

### 2/5 — Locations

*2026-08-26*

After picking a region like Port Lincoln/Spencer Gulf all the recommendations were set around Port Lincoln only and not the rest of the Gulf. Unless I missed something and can be set to other parts of the Gulf not much help.

### 5/5 — Great app

I’ve been using this app for a while now, and it’s easily one of the best fishing tools I’ve found. It’s simple to use, reliable, and makes checking fish sizes and regulations quick and easy. The information is clear, accurate, and saves a lot of time when you’re out on the water. It’s a must-have for anyone who wants to fish responsibly and stay within the rules. Highly recommend it to both experienced anglers and beginners alike!

Getting back in to fishing in a new state and I have found this extremely good for species identification and fishing info

### 5/5 — Essential for touring and fishing

*2026-06-06*

As someone traveling around Australia who is fairly new to fishing, this app is exactly what I needed. There are so many different species out there, but being able to ID a fish from a quick photo makes things so much easier. Love the catch log and the quick access to size ranges and eating descriptions. A must-have for any travellers around Aus.

Works really well, found it very useful with identifying some uncommon fish I wasn’t sure on. Certainly worth the price.

### 5/5 — Easy to use

This is really cool! I don’t know a lot about different species of fish so having this on hand when I’m out fishing is super helpful 👍
