### 5/5 — Love this app!

*2023-02-08, version 1.12.5*

Easy to navigate and a fun way to discover new tournaments!

### 5/5 — Fish Donkey

*2022-11-03, version 1.12.5*

Fish Donkey is the best thing that has happened to fishing in a long time.

### 5/5 — Perfect and Easy

*2022-07-21*

I use this to run a small private tournament. Everybody easily registers and I can easily use the app to communicate to the participants. We run the tournament by length and the app automatically culls and gives real time rankings. The app allows you to enter length and a picture of the species being caught. A bump board is recommended. It makes the tournament so much fun because of the real time rankings. Starts and ends right on time and the app doesn’t allow for entering before and after the whistle. Although, I use for a small tourney, it would work for any size. This is the best app for any fishing tournament. Used know for 3 years and never has a glitch. Perfect and easy!!

### 5/5 — Great app and tournament support

*2022-06-16*

FishDonkey has done a nice job creating an easy to use and fully functional fishing tournament app. We have used it at the Red Door Resort for a number of years and highly recommend. It is also worth mentioning that the team behind the app provides great support

### 3/5 — Can’t escape bump board ad

*2022-01-14*

Every time I enter a tournament the x to close the ad for the bump board they want you to buy won’t work cause it’s crammed behind my battery level on my phone so I have to close the app and restart because I can’t click anywhere without going to a separate site to buy a bump board I don’t want.

**Developer response:** I've see what your are saying. For some reason, your phone puts the x in a place you can't find? If so, that is a google ad problem. They have complete control over where the buttons are on their ads. We have to wait for them to fix that or we would have to eliminate all ads.

update:Google has made an update and we don't see that problem with closing the ad any more.

We have made sure that the ad does not interfere in any way with your tournament. There are no ads when you go to enter a fish and nothing will stop you from competing. This ad was only available during the "join a tournament" process and a bump board was offered because it is useful for your tournament.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2021-10-21, version 1.9.6*

I’ve used this app to run an ice fishing derby each year for the last 3 years. Easy to use and the admin help from Fishdonkey is amazing. If you need help with anything they are always there to help.

### 5/5 — Fish Donkey Review

*2021-02-14, version 1.7.3*

I’ve only used Fish Donkey as a competitor and not an organizer. Im very happy with how easy it is to use this app. I think all tournaments will start using your app.
One thing I would really like to see is a GEOGRAPHIC SPECIFIC FEATURE for fishing tournaments that are available. I live in Alberta Canada. It would be great to be able to find out what tournaments are available in AB, or even Saskatchewan or BC. I would have missed knowing about the Bonnyville Pontiac’s tournament in AB if I hadn’t accidentally heard someone talking about it.
Thank you and keep up the good work.

### 3/5 — Odin Harms

*2021-02-14, version 1.7.3*

Hello Fish Donkey,

When fishing solo in a tournament it has proven to be quite difficult to take photos with one hand to submit and enter a fish. Would it not be possible to utilize the camera picture delay function? That way an angler could use a tripod and have time to use both hands to get a good photo holding the fish and use both hands to hold fish on the bump board correctly and be able to sway the tail. I lost a 1/2” on what should have been a 32.5” lake trout entry because I did not have a second hand to help sway the tail on my bump board. Plus two hands is a much better way to provide safer fish handling. Please provide your feedback.

Cheers,
Odin Harms

### 5/5 — A bank-beater’s dream!

*2021-02-14*

Without a boat, it can be a challenge to find tournaments to be a coangler. Their app allows me to find and fish tournaments competitively against people across the country at waters near me. ITS A BLAST!!

**Developer response:** Blakester, we are really glad you are enjoying the app. Look for some more big events as we head into summer! Thank you for the review. - Darren from FishDonkey

### 5/5 — FishDonkey is an Excellent and Fun App

*2021-02-13, version 1.7.3*

FishDonkey is easy to use and makes fishing a lot more fun. Perhaps the best thing about FishDonkey is that catch & release is so good for the fish! FishDonkey is the only way to go!!!

**Developer response:** Carbles Champion and Winter Carnival Walleye Champion, thanks for the nice review!

### 5/5 — Fishing league

*2021-02-13*

Used in our fishing league this summer. It was a great option made the league that much more fun.

### 5/5 — Straightforward app

*2021-02-13*

The FishDonkey app is easy to use, it works well even in areas without cell service (just remember to upload your pictures from your Digital Livewell when you get back in an area with service or WiFi). I’ve used this for a bunch of virtual fishing tournaments and really like it.

### 5/5 — A MUST HAVE for any tournament angler!

*2021-02-13*

I love this app! It’s so simple and easy to use and there are so many different tournaments you can get involved in, many at super low cost or even free! Even semi-pro tournaments are much easier and better for the fish with using this app. Best part is, there’s always a real person you can talk to if you have issues. Thanks Darren at FishDonkey!

**Developer response:** Thank you!

### 1/5 — What

*2025-02-17, version 1.13.2*

I am 17 and this app says that age four and up can use it but reading the rules and regulations it say that you have to be 18

### 1/5 — Confusing

*2023-01-18, version 1.12.5*

Can’t figure out to enter

### 1/5 — General comments

*2022-01-27*

I have heard from contacts that people are unhappy about the fees with this app. In general fishing tournament organizers would like to go back to the old ways of doing things. I do think this app is helpful for having all the tournaments in one place. My main problem however is the lack of boat education about AIS and how to stop the spread. There is great potential for spreading this important information.

**Developer response:** Hey! You gave us a 1 star review and it isn't even about our app. It sounds like you haven't ever even joined a paid event so you based the review on hearsay? Please reconsider as we work very hard to make the best product possible, we support conservation, and this is not a fair review. Do I need to mention that you made this review during ICE season and you are talking about boat education???

We make the app to support conservation and run tournaments. That is what we do. We are not employed by the state to stop the spread of invasive species. I would love to stop the spread of AIS, but we seriously focus on our product and service. I understand that you care about AIS and we would LOVE to have you run an event that raises awareness about your cause of AIS and boat education. Also, you will love this part, there is no fee (ZERO) for you as the host to set up and run a tournament. Imagine that??? Our app is sitting right here waiting for you to set something up and use it as a tool.

Our anlger fees are not even high, we don't hear anglers complaining about the fees we charge. I think it is possible that your "contacts" might not even be talking about our app.

Again, please consider changing or deleting this review.

### 1/5 — Not worth the download

*2021-03-04, version 1.7.4*

Nothing but problems, and nothing works correctly and you have to have it approved by the creators. They only give you 6 tournaments and then it makes you pay for them

### 1/5 — SERVER CRASHES AND YOU WIIL LOSE YOUR $

*2021-01-30, version 1.7.0*

Just used app for Jaycees fishing contest.
Server crashed and digital live well will not allow you to enter your fish.
They admit to server issues
They will not work with you to accept alternative entry
They will not refund your $

Do not fall for same scam I did...

### 1/5 — Great Idea with a lot of flaws

*2020-09-20*

If you aren’t the one who paid for the tournament and you are on the team, you can’t check results, leaderboards, or anything else. It’s a great idea but unless you pay the money, your teammate has to bug the other team member to give him updates etc..

**Developer response:** Actually, you can always see the results on the website by looking at the live leaderboards. Sorry you had trouble in your team event... You must have been missing some information because this is not how we recommend that directors manage team events... you can contact us if you have questions but we hope you will try a different tournament. Thank you!

### 1/5 — Divisions?

*2020-06-06, version 1.5.5*

I tried setting up a tournament, but the app won’t move past divisions. It states “One or more element required”. I input the information but it will not allow me to move to the next step. Bummer because it sounded like a cool app.

### 1/5 — Did not work

*2020-04-27, version 1.5.4*

We had a virtual tournament on Saturday and the app did not work for any of our 12 fisherman. Don’t waste your time. It’s a good thing that we did not make this a paid tournament. Very disappointed!!!

### 2/5 — Photo access

*2025-01-09, version 1.13.2*

Why does this app require access to ALL photos and videos when the photo submission is taken real time? Seems fishy.

### 2/5 — Slow to update, doesn’t allow you to view leaders

*2021-01-30, version 1.7.0*

Not that great, bogs down. The structure is good, but doesn’t update leaderboard during tournaments. Slow to update.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great Support

*2026-01-14, version 1.13.2*

Great, easy to use app to host online fishing tournaments with amazing support if you need any help!

### 5/5 — AWESOME APP BUT ONE MAJOR SUGGESTION!!!!

*2025-04-07*

I love this app but I have one suggestion that would be a fantastic idea! I recently started doing FD tournaments and I loved them…. Living in a small town/ community I wanted to find a way where I could have a local tournament with just my buddies! I really think it would be a great opportunity for this app having a better selection while in the” set up tournament” option have a place where u can set up a local/ private tournament!

### 5/5 — Easy like Sunday morning

*2025-01-22*

I can absolutely say I do appreciate and enjoy the creators of this tournament app. Along with responsive owners you can always count on true measurements with the live release videos . Not having to travel to a weigh station where most of the fish don’t make it is a big deal to me . You’re saving on gas along with wear and tear on your machines . Our next generation will be catching even more fish with ours being put back and being able to spawn another year . If you truly care about the fish you’re catching and love to release them this is the tournament app for you . thank you guys for a clean and fun app to compete in !

### 5/5 — Best app ever developed!

*2025-01-12*

Your app is awesome, so ingenious. I regularly tell people what a great app it is and I regularly encourage organizers of tournaments to switch to your app!

### 5/5 — Great App

*2025-01-07*

Very easy to use and lots of great tournaments available. Best part is the fish get released to be caught again another day!!

**Developer response:** Thank you!

### 5/5 — Great product

*2024-11-04*

Very easy to use. Amazing customer service!

### 5/5 — Fishdonkey APP

*2024-04-27*

I use the app to manage all the fish entries for the ice fishing tournament I run annually. Working with Bonnie and Darren make it a really nice experience, indeed. If something requires a change or edit, they are responsive and offer creative ideas to help resolve them. It is totally a self manageable app. It is both dynamic and optimal for the user and the person using it to manage a tournament. I especially like the reporting it gives, as it allows me to gain intelligence from the data to make improvements and enhancements on the fly or for the next. Great work guys!!

### 5/5 — Montréal Pike Fishing Tournament

*2024-04-25, version 1.13.2*

I was initiated to the Fishdonkey app when I joined the Muskies Montreal Pike fishing tournament over 3 years ago during COVID.

The app is fantastic and very easy to use.

Great job with the app and great job to Muskies Montreal for organizing the tournament every year!

### 5/5 — SJR 500 Rainy River Tournament

*2024-04-11*

Used this app for the first time, and really enjoyed it!! Very easy to use. I followed the instructions I received after downloading, registering for the app, and it tells you how to do everything.
Being able to see fish entered from other anglers is nice. It’s great if you are a competitive angler. You can see entries in real-time. Entering a fish you have caught is so easy.
I would highly recommend this app if you are are going to host a fishing tournament, or even incorporating into your existing tournaments!!

### 5/5 — No Rebase Fishing Tournament

*2023-05-22*

After considering other fishing tournament apps we decided on FishDonkey. Four years later we couldn’t be happier!

**Developer response:** We love you too!
