### 4/5 — One stop shop

*2025-09-29*

App has a lot of info in one app. Only issue is the info is not very trustworthy offshore. I’m not sure if app is getting offshore buoy weather readings or not. If app was more accurate I’d consider going pro. It’s too expensive especially when there’s too many other free apps more accurate. This has potential of being the best fishing app made.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the thoughtful review—and for calling out the app’s potential. 🙌

On offshore accuracy: we source marine conditions directly from NOAA, the gold standard for U.S. marine weather and buoy data. By default, Pro Angler sets an offshore forecast point about 20 miles from your chosen location. For the most precise read on where you’re actually headed, you can use the SET PIN feature (found on the homepage) to drop an exact position (GPS coords or a specific reef/ledge). Your wind, swell, seas, and marine forecast will then update to match that exact spot. You can also switch between nearby buoys to compare readings when conditions are shifting.

If anything still looks off, send us the coordinates + date/time you were checking—we’ll confirm the buoy mapping and get it dialed in for you.

We’d love for you to try that adjustment out. If it gets you the accuracy you’re looking for, it would mean a lot to us if you’d consider updating your rating to the full 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. In the meantime, please reach out to Lindsay at support@proangler.us
—we’ll make sure everything’s working properly for your offshore trips.

Tight lines and safe fishing! 🎣

Allah can guide you to all truth .

### 4/5 — Amazing app

*2025-08-06*

It’s an amazing app I love that you can use it in a way we’re it’s like fish instagram were you can share your story’s and cool fish you have caught but I can’t click on the map or it kicks me out but otherwise it’s a really great app

**Developer response:** Hey Biggersb245! Thanks for taking the time to drop some feedback for us! We'd like to clarify what happens when you mention "kicks me out" of the maps and get to the bottom of this so we can make sure you are able to take advantage of all the fish data! Please give us a shout at support@proangler.us

### 3/5 — I’m really kinda mixed on this

*2025-07-08*

As the title reads I have mixed feelings on this app I paid for the premium service to get the feel for what this could offer and it does not deliver what it says it claims it does. Example the last report was back on June 20th, today is July 8th. I do understand that this app most likely works off of local information but it only has one ramp in my area when in fact there are multiple which tells me either research fell of or they need help from local CPTs input. Now with that said their weather reports I stick with mixed with NOAA I’ll pull up the app constantly all day. Tides are slightly off but the weather is mainly what I’m watching. I do believe this would be a beyond an amazing app if all this would come together.
Not sure if the devs read this but if you want me to send you the bait shops and marinas just let me know and I’ll gladly do it.

**Developer response:** Hi Badmofracky! Thanks for taking a deep dive into Pro Angler, we do read and value this feedback! I'm here to get to the bottom of this! Our reports are updated weekly (in part by me actually!) so I'll need to know your home waterway to further investigate. You are correct, we do have many local contacts, in addition to other sources as well and certainly will ensure we have the the latest and most valid information. Please give me (Lindsay) a shout at support@proangler.us to chat about this and get everything working properly for you!

### 3/5 — Was amazing!

*2025-05-11*

The app use to be outstanding! I loved using it when fishing out of state in unfamiliar waterways! However… the app has become unstable, prone to many glitches. Simple tasks like searching for a new location outside of your current state/area does nothing. It just sits there, “thinking” with a white screen where the search data should be. Other features are getting very buggy. I think the Devs of this app need to spend some time debugging! Do that, and you’ll earn my 5-Star Review again.

**Developer response:** Hey there ArchangelMining! Out analytics show 99% uptime this month. Mind revisiting this review? Thanks for leaving a review, glad to hear you find the app useful while exploring the country. We have two solutions here - for browsing waterways outside your state, the easiest way is to use 'Set Pin' located on the top right of your Homepage. This will identify your current location OR you can drag and drop it to any waterway in the country! You can also use 'Change Your Home Waterway' to select a state and waterway by name. This is located in the main menu at the top left of your Homepage. You are correct, the search bar on your homepage is for locations nearby / within your state (and also quick access to fish species)!
We would like to confirm that you have the latest app updates to avoid instability and grab a few more details about these glitches to get to the bottom of this! Please reach out to us at support@proangler.us!

### 5/5 — Makes Fishing in the Chesapeake Bay a Breeze

*2024-10-31, version 9.6.8*

Fishing in the Chesapeake Bay is way easier now with Pro Angler. It's like my personal fishing guide – shows me where the hot spots are and even what the fish are biting on. Super handy!

### 5/5 — Killer App for Lazy Lake Days in Minnesota

*2024-10-31, version 9.6.8*

Chilling on Minnesota's lakes with Pro Angler is the best. I've found some sweet fishing spots and the app's super easy to use. It's like having a fishing buddy who knows all the good stuff.

### 5/5 — Hawaii's Premier Fishing Guide App

*2024-10-31, version 9.6.8*

When it comes to fishing in Hawaii's unique waters, Pro Angler is unmatched. The app's local knowledge on species like mahi-mahi and marlin, along with its sea condition updates, make it indispensable for any angler in Hawaii.

### 5/5 — Southeast Coast Angling Perfection

*2024-10-30, version 9.6.8*

Pro Angler is a treasure for fishing the Southeast coast. The app's insights into local conditions in states like Georgia and South Carolina are incredibly helpful, especially for inshore fishing. It's become an essential part of my gear.

### 5/5 — Northeastern Fishing Companion

*2024-10-30, version 9.6.8*

Pro Angler is a game changer for fishing in the Northeast. Whether I'm targeting stripers in Maine or bluefish in Massachusetts, the app's local guides and tide charts are incredibly precise. Essential for any Northeastern angler.

### 5/5 — The Go-To App for Midwestern Lakes

*2024-10-30, version 9.6.8*

Fishing in the Great Lakes region requires specific knowledge, and Pro Angler delivers. Its insights into the seasonal patterns of Midwestern fish species have greatly improved my catches in lakes like Michigan and Erie.

### 3/5 — Too money oriented but nice format overall.

*2024-09-18, version 9.6.8*

Pro angler is nice but it lacks a lot of general information if you don’t have the premium version.
Pros- good for general information about tides and feeding.
Cons- without premium you don’t really get access to fishing information like reports and good spots etc.

### 5/5 — Always on Point

*2024-08-07, version 9.6.8*

Whether I'm up north or near the city, Pro Angler's always on point. It's packed with local knowledge, which is a big help. Even in well-known fishing spots, this app gives you an edge.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Ok no islands

*2026-01-18, version 9.8.1*

They don’t do islands
Why

### 1/5 — Fishing “feeding times”

*2025-06-16, version 9.6.12*

Always off by a few hours. Just this as a reference and download NOAA app and/or Tides Near Me etc apps. The weather buoys and towers day for example mosquito lagoon to cape Canaveral are going through weather platforms near new Smyrna(mosquito lagoon) and even cape Canaveral, offshore is easier, inshore they are basing tides off Patrick AFB weather stations. Just watch your tides, wind speeds, moon phases, etc

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2024-08-17, version 9.6.8*

No fishing reports on this app. When you try to pull up local fishing reports you only see a generic description of how the fish inshore and offshore.

### 1/5 — Not a good app

*2024-08-05, version 9.6.8*

The option to chose Canada it only shows Ontario and no other Provinces in Canada

### 1/5 — You have to pay for info that is free on numerous other apps

*2024-02-25*

The app does have a lot of information. A large portion of that information is not really the useful or unreliable on the app. You have to pay the monthly fee for info available free on several other apps. I would not recommend this app in its current format. You can get more accurate information on other apps.

**Developer response:** That's right, The Pro Angler App combines top fishing data all in one place, instead of checking 25 different apps! One big Pro Angler difference is our Reports, dynamic content from legitimate sources you won't find offline, such as Captains and Baitshops. Would love to chat more about which features you found useful and more specifically how we can improve. Give me a shout, Lindsay - Support@proangler.us

### 1/5 — Useless waste of 1’s and 0’s !

*2022-08-13, version 9.5.8*

I have an iPhone 7 Plus. This app just plain doesn’t work! When I try to change location, no can do! It keeps going back to the last location.

If I try to find locations nearby, I get a huge list of places I never heard of and can’t find. A GPS coordinate, distance or map is essential but missing. How can I hope to select a place!

I tried to “manage” my cookies but the screen only shows the top half but there is nowhere to select ESSENTIAL only!

Totally useless!

I would give “0” stars if possible! What am I missing?

### 1/5 — Had high hopes

*2021-10-05, version 9.5.2*

Never worked from day 1 , the most important boating info like wave height and seconds was double what it should be , and the wind speed page only worked once , terrible experience 👎

### 1/5 — Laughable

*2021-08-05, version 9.5.2*

Really? Sockeye Salmon and Walleye in a local pond in Connecticut? I have no idea where they get their species information from, seems they just pick all species that are know to have existed at some point in the state.
They claim they get their information directly from the state stocking program which is total crap. CT does not stock Sockeye Salmon, and only stocks walleye in a few lakes.

### 1/5 — Deleted without trying.

*2021-07-11, version 9.5.1*

As soon as I read the review where they automatically bill you for a subscription, I skidaddled without even trying it! I don’t like scams either! What a waste of my time and small effort when I was looking for a useful ap.

### 1/5 — Not very helpful

*2021-06-15*

Loaded the app because of an FWC email promoting it. I couldn’t explore the app for all the splash pages pushing a free trial. I never could find the state specific regulations for Florida. In general it was unfriendly to use and the info contained is nothing special. It might be of limited value to a novice but that’s it. For example, the “how to catch” a blue marlin is laughable. There is no real detail and if one were to rely solely on this app to catch many of the listed species the only thing they will catch is a skunk.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your review John, we can help you out. The regulations are on each species. Just tap FISH in the bottom right then select your Species. The REGULATIONS button will be right there. We are always trying to do better as an app and as a content coverage team and will look to improve the points you mentioned right away. Thank you, The Pro Angler Team

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Picture of big Pine.

*2026-07-08, version 9.9.10*

Is Baganda

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-05-11, version 9.9.6*

W app super easy and nice to use

### 5/5 — Reports that actually help

*2025-09-18*

The reports in Pro Angler are one of the main reasons I use it every trip. With other apps, reports always felt vague or like ai, like they could apply anywhere. But Pro Angler gets specific. It tells you what species are biting, what bait is working, and even techniques that are worth trying. That’s real value to me so I can have a better idea of what to rig before I launch. Last month, I followed a tip for smallmouth bass, and within an hour I had two solid fish in the boat using the exact lure it recommended. That kind of accuracy builds confidence. Pair that with the weather and you’ve got all the info you need before you leave the dock. To be honest the weather is probably more detailed than I use, but I'm sure it's useful for pros or guys in tournaments. It’s also nice being able to share catches and see what others are pulling in around me. That community aspect makes it fun, and the accuracy of their spots makes it useful. Basically it's everything in one place.

**Developer response:** Hey Fish4Life1122, thanks for taking the time to leave a review, we really appreciate it. Good luck on the water!

### 5/5 — Best for fishing spots

*2025-09-17, version 9.6.18*

There are a lot of things i use in this app and it works pretty well, but the local fishing reports are what sold me to download. They’re updated every week I think and are actually helpful, not just generic info. My friend and I checked the app before heading out, and sure enough, the weather and what’s biting lined up perfectly with what they said. For me, that makes it worth it because i can narrow down what to target and bait or lures to bring. I don't have to bother grabbing shrimp if I don't need to. You can tell it’s made for anglers by pro captains or anglers. I also have been using the GPS spots with the subscription. There are so many I've only checked out a few so far though. So much data! Thanks PA!

### 5/5 — Great

### 5/5 — New York Fishing's Never Been This Fun

*2024-11-10*

Fishing around New York can be hit or miss, but Pro Angler's made it mostly hits for me. It's great for finding those hidden spots and knowing what's biting. Plus, it's fun to check what others are catching in the area.

### 5/5 — Catching More Fish in Michigan Lakes

*2024-11-10, version 9.6.8*

Been hitting the Michigan lakes with Pro Angler, and man, it is a game-changer. Finding the best spots for walleye and bass is a breeze now. Plus, the app is pretty easy to use even when you are out on the water.

### 5/5 — Hawaiian Shore Fishing: Pro Angler's My Secret

*2024-11-10, version 9.6.8*

Shore fishing in Hawaii's been a blast with Pro Angler. It's like having a local guide in my pocket, showing me where to go for the best catch. The app's super intuitive and I've learned a ton from it.

### 5/5 — Catching Bass in Texas Like a Pro Now

*2024-11-10, version 9.6.8*

Ever since I started using Pro Angler in Texas, my bass catches have gone up big time. It's like having a fishing coach telling you the best lures and spots. Plus, I love showing off my catches on the app.

### 5/5 — Florida Keys Fishing Made Even Better

*2024-11-09, version 9.6.8*

Pro Angler's my go-to when I'm fishing in the Florida Keys. It's crazy good at finding tarpon spots and the tide info is super helpful. Makes a good fishing trip great, and it's so easy to use.
