The device itself works exactly as advertised. It’s small, lightweight, and attaches easily to the collar without bothering my dog at all. The activity tracking is very detailed and the app makes it simple to monitor daily activity, sleep patterns, and overall trends over time. I really like being able to see how active my dog has been throughout the day and make sure they’re getting enough exercise. What really sets FitBark apart though is their customer support. On the rare occasion I had a question, their team was incredibly responsive, friendly, and genuinely helpful. It’s clear they care about their customers and stand behind their product, which goes a long way. Overall, FitBark has been a fantastic purchase. Recently my battery was draining quickly and Pep with customer support easily helped me adjust a few setting. He also shared a few tips for better usage. The devices are amazing from tracking their location to their steps and how much they sleep at night! Any problem i’ve had the customer support chat has always been quick to help me solve the issue. It seems they are not available 24x7. The impact here is the app doesn't work and tells me that my internet connection is down. I can't track my dog. Support says they are doing maintenance that may impact performance. I say it's dead in the water and not good enough. ### 5/5 — Perfect for tracking health *2025-10-06, version 7.0.0* We’ve had the basic FitBark for several years now; I was pushing her to reach 5000 steps and she just couldn’t even for a 7 or 8 years old Australian Shepherd. Fast-forward to today, as a senior dog who is now on “palliative care” for hip issues, the health trackers are handy. If she isn’t feeling well, or is even just grumpy, I can check her stats and give her a nap or make sure that she doesn’t sleep through the day. Following the vet’s instructions, I established a base line with her, that I can specifically track with the app. When she was on strict room-rest, we tried to reach 1500; 3000 is our goal now that she can comfortably reach and still feel good the following day. I don’t have to guess how she’s feeling or try to pay attention to how much she’s sleeping, nor do I have to stay awake to gauge her sleep quality! The app comes with a journal where I can add photos or comments about how she’s doing or cover the reasons why her sleep score or activity level was so low. This is quite helpful for vet appointments when they ask about when the symptoms started, etc, or to quickly summarize a year of health history so that I can make the most of her appointments. This should’ve been our first hint but we were going to Mexico and my mom was dog sitting in a new town and we needed a tracker. Turns out the tracker part didn’t work anyway. Dog got out and it wouldn’t track. Customer service said it was cause she didn’t leave her safe zone but we picked her up 4 blocks away. After 4 months of nothing but problems (including 24 hours to get the stupid thing to charge) we ordered A tractive and it’s like night and day. Don’t waste your money on this. We are currently paying for 2 subscriptions right now (FitBark and tractive) because fit bark is THAT bad and there is no refund. Tractive offers refunds for unhappy customers. FitBark will NOT let you out. ### 1/5 — Beware if you have multiple dogs *2026-04-28, version 7.9* I’ve used the FitBark for a few months for one of my dogs & wanted to get a device for my second dog to compare their activity levels. When I bought the second device, I learned that in order to track a second dog, you have to pay for a second subscription. This seems excessive when I’m already a subscribed customer, payed for each device, and now have to pay double the subscription cost. It’s frustrating that FitBark advertises how you can use their app/services for multiple pets at once, but doesn’t mention that you’re going to pay for each one individually. ### 1/5 — Hate it, privacy invasive and way too needy and costs too much. *2026-03-29, version 7.6* Needs a WiFi connection for some ridiculous reason. costs 10 dollars a month. Needed way too much information about me and my pet I don’t feel comfortable giving to a corporation, and no option to skip past any of it. Buttons are too small and in the wrong place. Simple at a glance data such as daily goal values is hidden now. In old app it was so easy - simple graphic showing today’s points above the goal. Now it just shows % of goal. WAY too cluttered with data, I like all the new data, yet it’s really hard to find, read, and understand. The Legacy app version with the simple “clock” graphic is so easy to see your pet’s entire day at a glance. If the new app version included this, it might be tolerable. Please consider reconfiguring the data in this version in a cleaner layout. Also the refresh button and battery percentage are extremely hidden. Put that stuff on the main screen. Don’t bury highly used features. Please fix this new app. ### 1/5 — Do not Recommend *2025-06-11, version 7.0.0* I could never recommend this service. We purchased the fitbark for our cat (she came to us as a stray kitten) and purchased a 3 year subscription. Unfortunately, our kitty developed an aggressive form of cancer and less than a year into a 3 year subscription, we had to euthanize our cat. Can they cancel the subscription and give a partial refund? They sure will not. So I’ve paid 3x as much as the service was worth and the feedback was “We’ll share this with our developer….see you’re making a difference.” How laughable. I will never recommend this company or service after this experience. I hope you enjoyed my money. You never have to worry about getting a penny from me in the future. ### 1/5 — Hate the new app *2025-04-14, version 7.0.0* Hate the new app ### 1/5 — New User Interface is a Disaster *2025-04-06* I’ve used FitBark since 2015 and am on my third device (FitBark2). I’ve been very happy with FitBark and have made many referrals to dog lovers, including veterinarians, who’ve purchased a FitBark or given it as a gift. The device’s original user interface (UI), called the “Legacy” UI, is thoughtfully designed and contains a wealth of useful data. The Legacy UI is intuitive and well-conceived and executed. Customer service at FitBark has always been top-notch. Sadly, in 2024, the UI was significantly modified. I can only describe the new UI as a disaster. I tried the new UI for more than 3 months when it came out to fully understand and experience the changes. Everything that made the Legacy UI so good, the new UI is not. Instead of a picture of my own dog when the app opens, the new UI show a generic dog. (The image of my own dog appears later, but in a tiny image that cuts of the top of his head.) But the most valuable aspect of FitBark is, of course, the data, which the new UI renders far less accessible or meaningful. The main page has needless clutter, like FAQs, which should be on a less prominent page. Navigation in the new UI is confusing and accessing the data, including historic data, is muddled and counter-intuitive. As a long-time user - and advocate - of FitBark, the new UI causes me to not want to use the app at all. Whereas the Legacy UI is a pleasure to use, the new UI has taken the fun out of FitBark. The new UI reminds me of “new Coke” (CocaCola); a well-intentioned effort, but unmitigated disaster. **Developer response:** Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback with us. It helps me make sure my high energy dog is at least hitting his minimum goal every day even whether the weather is bad or we’re busy with life. I check into the app throughout the day to see how things are going and I’ll throw in a few extra rounds of fetch or another walk if we’re way under the daily goal. Over the timeframe (c8 years) the devices have been great, but the customer service has been outstanding. They truly are on call 24/7 and always able to work through the problems and solution. More recently my dog was showing in Italy and we are in GB. Rectified in minutes and followed up with 24 hours later to ensure all running smoothly. Highly recommend. ### 5/5 — Lost Dog? Not Anymore. *2026-06-17, version 7.9* ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five Stars I have been a FitBark customer since the early days and was one of the initial purchasers when the product first came out. Over the years, I’ve experienced the updates, improvements, and evolution of the platform, and I can honestly say it has become one of the best investments I’ve ever made for my dog. The reason I originally purchased FitBark was after a frightening experience while hiking in the desert. My dog spotted a coyote and took off after it. She disappeared for nearly two hours. At the time, she was wearing an Apple AirTag, which turned out to be practically useless in the remote desert environment where there were no nearby devices to help track her location. Thankfully, she eventually found her way back, but that incident convinced me I needed a real GPS tracking solution. Since switching to FitBark, I’ve had tremendous peace of mind. The tracking is reliable, the app is easy to use, and I appreciate the regular updates and improvements the company continues to make. The activity monitoring features are a great bonus, but for me, the biggest value is knowing where my dog is when we’re hiking, traveling, or spending time outdoors. I’ve also found the subscription pricing to be fair for the level of service provided. The customer experience, technology, and dependability have kept me as a loyal customer for years. If you’re looking for a GPS tracker that actually works when it matters most, I highly recommend FitBark. It’s been a complete game changer for me and my dog. This version works well for Google Reviews, the App Store, or directly on FitBark’s website. ### 5/5 — Love this *2026-06-02, version 7.9* It was straightforward to install, set up, and connect the device. I appreciate the feature that allows us to track activity, as it notifies me when I need to go for a walk instead of slacking off. I also like that you can follow other users and participate in friendly competition. I like to see the data in regards to other dogs her age and breed. Battery life is outstanding, last longer than my fit it. I had to replace some of the ties because our collar is much thicker than the average collar.
