## What is FitBytes?

AI calorie counter and food scanner for iPhone and Apple Watch. Snap a meal, get instant macros, log water, plan workouts, and follow a diet that fits your day - all fully on-device, no account needed, synced via iCloud.

FitBytes turns your iPhone and Apple Watch into an intelligent coach for food, water, and workouts. Built natively in SwiftUI for iOS 26, with on-device AI, iCloud sync, and a Liquid Glass design.

A WALKTHROUGH

1) TODAY — your daily dashboard
A motivational quote that shifts with the time of day and what you've already done greets you on every open. A calorie ring shows consumed vs. target with live macro breakdown (protein, carbs, fat, calories burned, net). Below it: meal suggestions that fit your remaining budget, a diet-plan progress bar, water quick-add chips (+250 / +500 / +750 ml), and the day's planned workouts with a tick-off circle that auto-creates the entry.

A floating Liquid-Glass + button is your one-tap launchpad: scan food, search food, log a workout, or log measurements.

2) SCAN A MEAL
Point your camera at a plate. On-device Core ML and Vision identify the food and estimate the portion. Label, grams, and macros pre-fill — confirm and save. No upload, no internet.

3) SMART FOOD REPLACEMENTS
Out of paneer? FitBytes shows the equivalents from a coach-approved replacement sheet:
• 50 g paneer = 2 whole eggs = 100 g chicken
• 50 g rice = 75 g bread = 200 g potato
• Almonds ↔ walnuts ↔ cashews ↔ peanuts
Tap a swap and the entry updates with the right macros.

4) FOOD TAB — one recipe at a time + eat-out
We show ONE meal-fit recipe with swappable ingredients, a single-tap log button per item, and a one-tap "Log all". Going out? An "Eat out" section finds restaurants near you and proposes a plate that fits your remaining macros — no leaving the app.

5) WORKOUT TAB
Log strength, cardio, HIIT, yoga, walks, runs. Apple Health auto-imports steps, active calories, and sleep. Generate goal-based weekly splits (fat loss, muscle gain, mobility, hybrid), repeat them for as many weeks as you like, and tick sessions off from Today.

6) PROGRESS — body, goals, every metric
Log weight, chest, waist, hips, abdomen, body-fat in one tap. Trend charts for 1d / 1w / 1m / 1y of every metric. Above: a Goal Tracker with weekly snapshots and monthly progress photos.

7) APPLE WATCH APP
Swipe-to-page Watch app for fast logging on the wrist:
• Home — calorie ring + protein / water / workout summary
• Water — three big +250 / +500 / +750 ml buttons
• Quick log food — meal slot picker plus 10 curated presets
• Workout — pick a type, dial in minutes with the Crown, tap Log
Entries flow back to the phone instantly when reachable, queued when not.

8) DIET PLANS
Build a plan meal-by-meal or paste in JSON / free-form text from another app and FitBytes parses it into a structured plan with totals plus daily adherence scoring.

9) PROFILE & THEMES
Edit your goal, targets, and units. Pick a theme — or let the app auto-tint to your goal so the whole UI shifts color as your priorities change.

10) SHARE — coach or partner view
Tap "Create share link" for a private CKShare URL. Send via Messages, Mail, or AirDrop. The recipient accepts in iCloud and follows your tracker live. Revoke anytime.

ICLOUD SYNC
Stored in your private iCloud database (SwiftData + CloudKit). Syncs across iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch. End-to-end encrypted by Apple.

PRIVACY FIRST
No accounts. No tracking. No ads. Photos and food labels processed on device.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.2 — 2026-05-19

FitByte 1.4.0 - smarter logging, smarter import

A polish-and-power release focused on three things: getting your real data in faster, getting your trends out clearer, and a much friendlier workout import.

- APPLE HEALTH AUTO-SYNC IN LOG MEASUREMENTS. Tap "Sync from Apple Health" and FitByte pulls today's Sleep, Steps, Water, and Workout days straight in. Weekly averages (steps, sleep, water, workout days) are picked up too, so the weekly log fills itself.

- REDESIGNED WORKOUT IMPORT. A two-step flow that mirrors the diet import: pick where your workout is coming from (paste text, open a file, take a photo, pick from your library, or try a sample), then review on a dedicated screen. Pick Day or Week scope and choose Logged (creates real workout entries) or Planned (creates a recurring plan). PDFs and photos are read on-device with Apple's text recognition.

- WEEKLY TREND TICKERS IN THE MEASUREMENT SHARE SHEET. Every numeric cell now shows a small arrow + variance compared to the most recent prior week with data - green when it's heading toward your goal, red when it isn't. Steps, sleep, water, and workout days now appear in the share sheet as weekly averages, and the Diet Deviations row is finally aligned with the rest of the table.

- CLEANER PROGRESS DASHBOARD. The "More" section no longer duplicates the 12-week tracker and the per-day Daily Metrics editor, both of which already live in their primary spots.

Built natively in SwiftUI for iOS 26 and watchOS 10+. On-device, no-account, iCloud-only privacy.

### 1.4.1 — 2026-05-14

Bug fixes and improvements:
• Sharing tab redesigned to mirror Apple Health — send a snapshot PDF via Messages, Mail, AirDrop, or Files.
• Diet recommendations now respect your diet style and dietary restrictions, with day-over-day variety.
• Expanded restaurant suggestions across more cuisines.

### 1.3.0 — 2026-05-06

FitBytes 1.3 - workouts, your way

This release rebuilds workout planning around an exercise catalog and a real per-set tracker:

- BUILD-YOUR-OWN SESSIONS. The new custom session builder lets you assemble any day around three reorderable phases - warm-up, main work, and cool-down - and pick from a full catalog of exercises filtered by category, muscle group, and equipment. Stretches and mobility moves are first-class citizens, not afterthoughts.

- IMPORT & REPEAT A PLAN. Paste a workout plan as text or JSON, open a .fitbyte-workout file from Files / AirDrop / iMessage, choose how many weeks to repeat it for, and make it your active plan in one tap. Every plan can be shared back out the same way.

- PER-SET TRACKING THAT MATCHES THE WORK. Each exercise now has its own expandable set tracker. Strength work shows weight x reps, timed holds show seconds, intervals show round time, cardio adds distance - and bodyweight exercises stay simple. Add sets one at a time or auto-fill from the planned target; checking off the last set marks the exercise done automatically.

- SMARTER DAY DETAIL. Tap any planned day to see warm-up / main / cool-down sections you can swap, edit, reorder, or add to from the catalog without leaving the screen. Older plans without exercises offer a one-tap "generate from catalog" so they pick up the new flow too.

Plus the polish you'd expect: stable exercise IDs so swaps don't drift, a new exercise picker with search and equipment chips, and the same on-device, no-account, iCloud-only privacy posture from 1.0.

Built natively in SwiftUI for iOS 26 and watchOS 10+. Light & dark, Dynamic Type, VoiceOver.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-05-05

FitBytes 1.1 - eat-out, anywhere

This release rebuilds the "eating out" experience around your real-world location:

- ONE LOCATION SEARCH. The Today and Food tabs now share a single Apple Maps search box with live predictions as you type, plus a first-class "Use my current location" button. Pick a neighborhood once and we remember it.

- DELIVERY THAT MATCHES YOUR COUNTRY. Restaurant cards now show only the providers that actually operate where you are - DoorDash / Grubhub / Uber Eats in the US, Swiggy and Zomato in India, Deliveroo / Just Eat / Uber Eats in the UK, plus sensible defaults across Europe, the Middle East, Australia, and Canada.

- HONEST DISH SUGGESTIONS. When we recognize the venue, we explicitly say "Available at [restaurant name]"; for unknown venues we now label suggestions as style guidance so you confirm the menu before ordering.

- CLEANER TODAY CARDS. The "Log this meal" and "Try another suggestion" controls now match the restaurant card - same compact glass capsule everywhere, no more oversized buttons stealing attention from your macros.

Plus the polish you'd expect: location now captures the country code so providers stay correct after restart, the picker resets stale restaurant selections when you change area, and the entire flow keeps the on-device, no-account, iCloud-only privacy posture from 1.0.

Built natively in SwiftUI for iOS 26 and watchOS 10+. Light & dark, Dynamic Type, VoiceOver.
