## What is Fitness Stream?

Fitness Stream captures real-time workout data from your iPhone and Apple Watch and streams it to any HTTP endpoint you choose — perfect for live-streaming overlays, personal dashboards, or logging your training to your own server.

**Live Metrics**
Track heart rate, heart rate zone, active calories, distance, pace, steps, GPS location, elevation, and elapsed time — all updated every second during your workout.

**12 Workout Types**
Choose from Running, Cycling, Walking, Swimming, Hiking, Yoga, HIIT, Strength, Rowing, Elliptical, Dance, and Cooldown. Each workout uses the appropriate HealthKit activity type for accurate tracking.

**Stream Anywhere**
Enter any URL as your endpoint. Fitness Stream POSTs compact JSON payloads every second so you can build your own dashboards, OBS overlays, or training logs. An optional API key header keeps your stream private.

**Apple Watch Companion**
Pair with the included watchOS app to relay heart rate and workout commands between your wrist and your phone seamlessly via WatchConnectivity.

**Background Execution**
Start a workout and put your phone away. Fitness Stream continues collecting and streaming data in the background, with a lockscreen notification showing your current workout and elapsed time.

**Built for Privacy**
Your data goes only where you tell it. There are no third-party analytics, no accounts, and no cloud services. The API key is stored in the iOS Keychain.
