## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.7 — 2026-07-02

FitBud 1.7 — What's New

Live Activity for active workouts (iOS 16.1+)
Your workout now shows on the Lock Screen while you're mid-session — workout name, current exercise, elapsed time, sets progress, and the rest-timer countdown. iPhone 15 Pro and newer also get a proper Dynamic Island layout: dumbbell icon while working, timer icon while resting, and a full expanded view on long-press. Survives force-quits.

Notes on every workout
When you finish a session, jot a quick note — how it felt, what to adjust next time. Notes show as a preview on the History list and full-text in the session detail.

Log body weight without leaving FitBud
New "+" in Weight History opens a quick sheet — enter the value in lb or kg, tap Save. Writes straight to Apple Health.

Daily "time to lift" reminder
Set a time and days of the week; iOS notifies you when it's time to work out. Configurable from Settings → Notifications.

Search workout history
Magnifier icon in the History header lets you filter past sessions by workout name or by any exercise inside them.

Also improved
- Smoother Insights + Exercises tabs, faster active-workout typing.
- HealthKit sync fixed on device — permission prompts no longer overwrite each other; sync-workouts and read-charts grants coexist.

### 1.6 — 2026-06-09

What's New in 1.6

A big Apple Health upgrade: see more of your activity and (optionally) sync your workouts back.

  - Sync workouts to Apple Health — flip on the new Apple Health toggle in Settings and every workout you finish in FitBud is written to Apple Health as a Traditional Strength Training session, so it shows up in the Fitness app and
contributes to your activity rings. Off by default; FitBud asks for permission the first time you toggle it.
  - Health Workouts, reimagined — the Profile card now has an activity selector (Running, Cycling, Hiking, HIIT, Strength, Yoga, and more) with your last 3 sessions of the chosen activity. Tap View More for a new Bests / History detail
screen — per-activity personal bests (fastest mile, longest run, most calories burned, longest session…), a Sessions-per-week chart, and the full session list.
  - Every activity type shows up — outdoor runs and any workout type Apple Health tracks (hikes, HIIT, yoga, strength, swimming, rowing, …) now appear automatically. Previously, runs tagged as treadmill or anything outside a small curated
  list were silently dropped.
  - Auth self-heal — if FitBud had some Health permissions granted but Workouts was never asked for, it now re-prompts on first read instead of showing a cryptic error.

  Fixes
  - The Insights Records and Health Workouts History tabs no longer crash when empty.

### 1.5 — 2026-06-03

A new Insights tab with Personal Records and Training Volume, full kg/lb support across the app, an easier reorder mode (collapse + auto-scroll), the plate calculator for any plate-loaded machine, and you can finally edit existing exercises.

### 1.4 — 2026-05-23

A fresh new look! Redesigned across the app, with new color themes, Apple Health workout insights (fastest mile, 5K, and more), haptic feedback, and a more reliable rest timer.

### 1.3 — 2026-05-07

What's New in 1.3

  - Background rest timer — start your rest timer and put your phone away. You'll get a notification when it's time to get back to it.
  - Weight & steps history — view your data over 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, or all time, directly from the profile screen.
  - Plate calculator for Smith Machine exercises — the plate calculator now shows up for Smith Machine movements and Hack Squat.
  - Bug fixes and performance improvements.
