## What is Fiume?

Just say what's on your mind. Fiume captures it and helps you make sense of it. When something deserves real thought, Fio works through it with you, one step at a time.

Fiume is a place to write things down and an AI that gets to know you. Your memos, journal entries and conversations become the background it uses to understand you, so every conversation picks up where the last one left off.

VOICE NOTES: SPEAK, AND IT'S SAVED
No need to open the keyboard first. Fiume transcribes what you say and tidies it up. Then you decide where it goes: a memo, your journal, or a conversation with Fio.

Start a voice note from:
• The Action button, plus Lock Screen and Control Center controls
• Home Screen widgets, or by touching and holding the app icon
• Siri and Shortcuts, which you can also set up to work with Back Tap

FIO: FOR QUESTIONS THAT TAKE MORE THAN ONE ANSWER
Some questions take one sentence to answer. Others are worth thinking through. Fio is built for the second kind.
• Breaks a problem down around your goal and moves it forward step by step
• Looks at the images you send and helps you make sense of them
• Puts together complete reports you can come back to
• Remembers what you've told it, so you don't have to start from scratch

MEMOS: CAPTURE FIRST, ORGANIZE LATER
No title needed, and no need to decide where it belongs. AI can title your memo from its content, and clean up, polish or rewrite it for you.

JOURNAL: FOR THE DAYS WORTH REMEMBERING
Memos catch the thoughts that come and go. Your journal holds what happened each day and how you felt about it.
• After you finish an entry, Fio can keep writing with you and talk through your day
• Journal Insights: notice the feelings and thoughts you may have missed in an entry
• Weekly Insights: look back on your week and spot the themes that keep coming up (Pro)

TALK WITH SAGES: SEE IT FROM ANOTHER ANGLE
Sometimes you don't need an answer. You need a different way of thinking. Fiume brings together AI Sages from very different schools of thought. Pick one and start talking, or share how you're feeling and what's on your mind, and Fiume will find the right Sage for you.

HELP AI GET TO KNOW YOU
Tell Fiume about your work, your interests, your values and anything you'd like AI to remember. You decide whether AI can read your journal. If you don't allow it, Fio asks first every time it needs to.

YOUR CONTENT IS YOURS
• Lock folders so they open only with Face ID
• Lock the entire app
• Sign in to sync across your devices, and keep writing even when you're offline

A ROOMIER PLACE TO WRITE
Open the full-size writing panel from Home. A single line or a long stream of thought both fit here. Choose where it goes, then start writing.

Capture your thoughts. Write down your life.
Hand the hard questions to Fio, and turn to a Sage when you want a new perspective.
Fiume helps you keep your thoughts going.

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.1 — 2026-10-25

Fiume 1.1 is a big update: faster capture, an AI that knows you better, and help with the hard questions.

FIO: HAND OFF THE HARD QUESTIONS
· Chat with Fio in the Fiume tab. It breaks problems down, works through them step by step, and writes up full reports
· It can read your memos and journal, and remembers what you tell it
· Connect Calendar, Reminders, Contacts, and Location, and set each one to Allow, Ask, or Don’t Allow
· Tasks keep running in the background, with progress on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island

VOICE NOTES: JUST SAY IT
· Speak first, then save it as a memo, add it to your journal, or hand it to Fio
· Start from the Action button, Controls, widgets, the app icon, Shortcuts, or Back Tap
· No more time limit on long recordings, and you can record on Apple Watch

JOURNAL: YOUR DAYS, MONTH BY MONTH
· Entries are grouped by month, with a row of dots showing which days you wrote and how you felt
· Journal Insights and weekly insights surface feelings and thoughts you may have missed
· When you finish an entry, Fio or a sage can respond

MEMOS: OPEN AND WRITE
· No title needed. AI writes one from what you wrote
· Clean Up a memo in one tap, and share it as a long image, 3:4, or 9:16

TALK WITH SAGES
· Not sure who to pick? Describe how you feel and AI will find a match
· Favorite, archive, and organize conversations into folders
· On iPad, sages appear as a card grid

MORE
· Sign in to sync across devices. Writing still works offline
· Tell the AI about your work, interests, and values in Personalization
· Fiume Pro: more AI chats, more transcription time, and more cloud storage
