The app immediately crashes after a few seconds of me opening it. Soon as I open it it’s beat my expectations,however it crashes as soon as I touch something. ### 1/5 — As bad as school itself *2026-01-12, version 5.0.4(802)* I’ve been using this app for around half my school year and I can say this is not it. First of all, the “Notes” are saved in horrible quality and you can’t zoom in. If you want to take a note in Camera Mode, cropping it is an insane struggle, and so is even looking at the Note when you’ve done it, as it lags horribly when you first try. The Flashcards and the search bar are literally the only features that work decently. Lastly, I don’t like the home menu, it’s too unappealing and you can just use the bottom menu to navigate. If you want a good studying experience, just don’t use this app. You can easily live without this, as you can save your notes in your Photos app, dates on the Calendar app, and if you need flashcards, just use another app. Thanks. ### 2/5 — Used to be fairly good *2025-11-26, version 5.0.2 (768)* With the newest update I’m finding that adjusting the order of my notecards is so far impossible. The images I insert no longer fit the “card”, and when you’re in study mode even less of that image shows up. I can’t get past the intro page where you allow access to camera because I can’t press “next” at the bottom of the screen. The only thing I don’t have linked is my calendar and that shouldn’t affect access to my camera. Filling in triangles on the page doesn’t seem to do anything of note. Writing dates in notes doesn’t seem to create anything in the calendar. This app could be a great tool for note taking, but it’s just not there yet. ### 1/5 — Worst app *2025-10-17, version 5.0.2 (768)* Lagged way too often, dosent scan, and is completely useless ### 1/5 — More then a few issues *2025-10-07, version 5.0.1 (747)* When I’m filling out my notes and I fill in the triangle to make the flash cards it places everything on the back of the card? Why? Make a clear way for the app to differentiate between what needs to go on the front of the flash cards and what goes on the back. I use different color of ink, but when I scan in my notes it changes the colors. For example I’ll have the title at the top in blue ink, or vice-versa. Green and black do not do this. I would prefer if my notes stayed the same color. Finally why are scans in the same folder not arranged by date and time or have any other organization function available? My more recent scan are before my older ones? If this app is supposed to be a “digital copy” of my notes, why is it not looking or being the same format as my notes? Also you may want to allow user to break down subjects further. Such as having a folder for trigonometry, and notes being able to be placed under sub categories of like Sin, Cos and Tan for instance? Over all app fills way too incomplete. ### 1/5 — Photo quality is horrible *2025-09-30, version 5.0.1 (747)* I really wanted to like this because of how quickly the app captures the photo and automatically aligns the crop. However, the quality of the image is horrible despite having the new iPhone 17 Pro and the PDF it exports it to crops the image to the middle of a blank page instead of making it its own PDF. You’re better off using Microsoft Lens if you want your notes to not be blurry and be able to convert it to a proper PDF. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — 😭😱😡 *2026-08-16, version 5.0.6 (807)* This app didn’t even let me scan, it just when out of the app the millisecond I tried to scan anything. ### 1/5 — The scanning option doesn’t work *2026-08-16, version 5.0.6 (807)* I wanted to digitalize my notes but when I tried to scan my notes, there was black strip on the side of my phone and it wouldn’t let me scan. I can see the intent behind it, but there are too many things wrong with it to justify using it as opposed to scanning everything with a different app. Most scans come out completely blurry, there’s no way to indicate different “groups” of pages within one notebook, and the automatic flashcards provide a blank card with a random sentence on the back. Overall, incredibly disappointing. As much as I love Five Star stationary products, I have to say this app is by far one of the worst study/notes apps out there. 0/10 recommend. It was almost a good idea. I should’ve known from the reviews it wouldn’t be. I wanted to use it to keep my work notes on my phone so I didn’t have to pack a notebook around, but you can hardly see the scan on a phone. Even with clear, neat writing it’s next to impossible to read. I used flash like it recommended and everything. Everything is blurry, it doesn’t do ocr, still have yet to create a usable or readable flash card. You cannot zoom in on the scans, the filters don’t work. My kid loves the notebooks to keep him organized for all his classes, but luckily we buy them for the physical use, and not for this experience. It’s just not there. When you scan the pages it’ll save to the folder in subject you want which you can edit in the app. There’s also an option to share it as a pdf to CANVAS. LIKE HELLO. ON YO OF THAT IT AUTOMATICALLY PULLLS UP THE ASSIGNMENT FOR THAT CLASSS AND IT TURNS IT IN RIGHT THERE OMGGGGGGGG. I have just one very minor suggestion: I am learning ASL (American sign language) this year and I’d like to make flash cards for that class but I can’t flip the camera or record the signs. I’d love to be able to use that tool. It’s not a need, it’s a want so do not feel pressured to add this just for one person. It’s still a very handy app and I’m thankful for it.
