## What is FivePointFive?

FivePointFive: Breathwork for Athletes

What is FivePointFive
The world’s first breathwork app built for athletes—used by Elite Athletes and a fast-growing community of Everyday Athletes. We turn cutting-edge breathing science into short, coached sessions that strengthen performance and recovery, improve focus and stress resilience, and deepen restorative sleep.

Built on science. Made measurable.
Peer-reviewed research links structured breathwork with higher VO₂-max, improved HRV, lower resting heart rate, and better sleep quality. FivePointFive translates that science into sessions you can see working:

- Live heart-rate in class to watch your autonomic nervous shift in real time

- AI Performance Coach with post-session insights and coach tips

- Trends over time across HR, HRV, resting HR, and sleep

Train the full system: Mind • Body • Sleep

- Mind: Downshift stress fast, sharpen focus, and rebalance the nervous system—in as little as 90 seconds.

- Body: Build breathing mechanics and CO₂ tolerance to increase endurance, boost stamina, and speed recovery.

- Sleep: Lower nighttime cortisol and deepen restorative sleep so you wake recovered and ready to go.

### 5/5 — I had doubts but it’s awesome

*2026-08-26, version 1.5.50*

I’ve always had trouble “breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth” when running so decided to give this a try and I am amazed. After 6 weeks of doing the recommended program running is easier, my average HRV is up by 15+ points, and my average RHR is down several. I also use the sleep-related sessions to fall asleep faster and get back to sleep when I wake in the middle of the night. I really appreciate the practical focus on breathing separate from other issues or programs. Highly recommend it!

### 3/5 — Mostly good, with some major performance bugs

*2026-08-22, version 1.5.49*

Most of the workouts are good and seem to have helped with my running breath work. But since this app does not work with Garmin I have never been able to sync the hear rate feature (which is the metric used to measure progress) to it. It says it works with Garmin, but it have not ever once picked up my Fenix 8 or my hrm chest strap. I’d recommend finding free breath work on YouTube.

### 5/5 — Great addition to my routine

*2026-08-18, version 1.5.48*

Loving the guided sessions! Just started and can already tell the impact it has on my sleep o & recovery

### 5/5 — Workout are becoming more easier

*2026-08-15, version 1.5.48*

Have been using app and see that able to recover faster and breathing right during the workouts. In turn workouts are getting easier .. highly recommend to serious athletes looking to step up their game

### 2/5 — I won’t give my payment info for a trial, deleted

*2026-08-14, version 1.5.48*

Would have liked to try this for a week or two. I don’t sign up for subscriptions that take payment info upfront and then start automatically charging unless I cancel immediately. So I did not try it.

### 1/5 — Please give a longer free trial

*2026-08-14, version 1.5.48*

3 days is almost predatory before charging at least $50 for the program, especially where you often have to cancel 24 hours before to avoid the charge. I was excited to start but don’t want to risk only having 48 hours to get a feel for the program before deciding to commit or be on the hook for that charge. Please make it longer and I’d be happy to give it a shot.

### 3/5 — Very expensive and repetitive workouts

*2026-08-13, version 1.5.48*

I was inundated with ads for this app, but there was only a 3-day free trial and you can’t pay monthly for the subscription. So, paying almost $50 for a quarterly subscription seemed ridiculous. I ended up trying it on a whim after a run. 30 days was enough to see that this is not worth the money for me. The first 30 days was mostly repeating the same 3-4 workouts every day. By the end of the first week, I knew the script for each workout by heart. You definitely do not need anyone coaching you through these workouts and saying, “You got this, team!” It was the most expensive app I’ve ever purchased, and I learned my lesson.

### 5/5 — Data backed gain— HRV, Sleep improvements

*2026-08-09, version 1.5.48*

I’ve been using the app for nearly three months fairly regularly, and I’ve followed the programme while choosing sessions that suit me. Over that time, my Whoop data shows a 45% increase in HRV.
The sleep programmes have also made a noticeable difference. My sleep quality has improved, and I’m much less likely to wake during the night. Even my 7-year-old enjoys the breathing exercises and sometimes uses them to fall asleep.
Overall, I’d recommend it. The data backs it up, the sessions are short, and they’re easy to fit in anywhere.

### 2/5 — Too pricey for me

*2026-08-08, version 1.5.48*

I’d be very interested in using this for a month, maybe 6 weeks to see what it’s like. But the minimum subscription term is a quarter and it’s £40. That’s a pretty steep price for breathing classes, and the free trial is only 3 days so not even a full week.

I get the subscription era, to an extent. But consumers are being milked dry.

### 1/5 — Charged $96 before 3-day trial expired

*2026-08-07, version 1.5.48*

Very predatory trial scheme.
I had a very disappointing experience with this app and its trial process.

To even access the app, you’re required to sign up for a subscription ($45 every three months or $90 annually), which is presented with a three-day free trial. I set a reminder on my phone if I wanted to cancel before the trial ended, but was charged BEFORE THE THREE-DAY TRIAL WAS OVER. I also never received the reminder notification that the app indicated I would receive before the trial expired.

The set up was frustrating from the beginning. The app requires an email verification code to log in, but I never received the code with my primary email address. I ultimately had to use a Gmail account just to access the app.

Even after getting in, I was only able to use the app for one, five minute session. I couldn’t get it to connect with my Apple Watch despite multiple attempts. Before I even had a fair chance to evaluate whether the app worked as advertised (or worked for me, personally), I was charged for the annual subscription—$96.

I’m currently waiting for Apple to process a refund because I should not have been charged before the trial period ended, especially given the technical issues that prevented me from properly using the app. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend it.
