## What is FL Fishing Regs?

Florida saltwater and freshwater fishing regulations that work where you actually fish - out of signal, on the water, with wet hands.

Look up any species and see what the rule is: minimum and maximum sizes, slot limits, bag limits, seasons and gear requirements. Where state and federal waters differ, both are shown and labelled, so you know which one applies to where you are.

FRESHWATER TOO
Switch between Florida Saltwater and Florida Freshwater from the title. The freshwater side carries the statewide bag and length limits for black bass, panfish, crappie, striped bass, peacock bass, shad and eel, the special limits on named lakes and rivers, and the rules for the Fish Management Areas - each water on its own page, so at the boat ramp you can see what differs there. 44 freshwater species with FWC's own identification notes and original full-colour illustrations. Photo ID knows the basses, sunfishes, crappie and catfishes.

EVERYTHING WORKS OFFLINE
The regulations and more than 230 species illustrations are built into the app. No signal, no problem - nothing is fetched while you are reading.

STAYS CURRENT BY ITSELF
The app quietly checks for regulation updates and applies them in the background. When something changes, it tells you exactly which species and what changed, rather than leaving you to spot it.

FIND THE FISH
Search by name, or browse by category - snappers, groupers, jacks, sharks, drums and the rest. Every species carries a full-colour illustration you can tap to fill the screen and pinch to zoom.

KNOW WHAT YOU CAUGHT
Identification notes for every species: how to tell it apart, what it is easily confused with, where it is found, typical and record sizes, and how it eats.

PHOTO ID
Not sure what you caught? Take or choose a photo and the app suggests the most likely species, then shows your photo beside the illustration and the identification notes so you confirm it yourself before opening the regulation. Look-alikes are always shown together with how to tell them apart. It runs entirely on your phone - no signal needed, and your photos are never uploaded.

WHERE THE DATA COMES FROM
Regulations are extracted from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's published rules at myfwc.com and reviewed before each release. The app always shows the date of the data it is holding, so you can judge for yourself how current it is.

Always verify with FWC before fishing. Regulations change, and no app is a substitute for the official rules.

Free, supported by a single banner ad. Photo ID includes three free identifications each day; FL SW Regs Unlimited, a one-time purchase, removes the ad and the limit. The regulations themselves are free for everyone, always. No account, no sign-up, and no location tracking.

The best app you’ll ever see for florida fishing. New to saltwater fishing? This app has everything you need to know to get you up to speed on fish identifying and regulations that apply. Went first time confident i was doing everything right in the tangled up mess otherwise known as fishing regulations..

Note to developers. Please check the perfect 5 star rating score.. there is a reason for that.. it doesn’t need to be redesigned.. please finish your redesign project by leaving it alone. (I think this is the only perfect 5 star rated app i have ever seen..)

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 3.7.0 — 2026-10-11

New: Florida freshwater regulations. Switch between Florida Saltwater and Florida Freshwater from the title. Statewide limits for bass, panfish, crappie, striped bass, peacock bass, shad and eel; the special limits on named lakes and rivers and every Fish Management Area, each on its own page; 44 freshwater species with FWC's identification notes; Photo ID for the basses, sunfishes, crappie and catfishes. The app is now FL Fishing Regs.

### 3.6.1 — 2026-10-05

New: My License. Keep a copy of your fishing license in the app - add a photo, a screenshot or the PDF and it opens with no signal, right next to the regulations. The copy stays on your phone and is never uploaded.

### 3.6.0 — 2026-09-25

Now in Spanish. The whole app - regulations, the FWC text, identification notes and fish names - in English or Spanish, following your phone's language or your choice in the menu.

Fixed: the search keyboard can now be dismissed.

### 3.5.0 — 2026-09-02

National-park rules: Biscayne and Everglades National Parks apply their own limits inside park waters, and affected species now show them as their own section.

Photo ID now includes three free identifications each day. FL SW Regs Unlimited, a one-time purchase, unlocks unlimited identifications and removes the banner ad. Regulations stay free for everyone.

Regulations refreshed to FWC's 30 August 2026 pages.

### 3.4.1 — 2026-08-29

Corrected bag limits for blue crab, stone crab and Gulf tilefish. These are stated by FWC in gallons or pounds, and the app was showing them as catch and release; they now read as FWC states them (blue crab: 10 gallons whole per person per day).

A fresh look: new typography, illustration plates and a light and dark theme.

Pictures for eleven more species in the Photo ID and species pages.

Regulations refreshed to FWC's 29 August 2026 pages.
