### 5/5 — Excellent

*2012-10-28*

Excellent. Too bad no sound with it. Also with each word, a sentence should be written or linked to it, to give a context to help the recall process.

### 5/5 — Great learning app

*2012-10-09, version 1.3.1*

You get a real sense of achievement when you tick off a word. Great revision tool. Would be great to be able to download more words. Thanks to the developer!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2012-01-04, version 1.2.2*

Would be happy to pay for this app if had audio so you could listen to pronunciation.

### 5/5 — Terrific

*2011-08-10*

This is a great app. Since the program alerts you each day, your vocabulary increases each day! The article is included with each noun so that you learn both at the same time. Makes sense.
The complete list of words is offered in a dictionary format. Along with definition of a verb a chart of all the tenses appears. Try it - you'll be glad you did.
Ciao

### 5/5 — Great learning and revising tool

*2011-07-15, version 1.2.0*

Great free app to increase and revise your vocabulary. Worth reading instruction ( in settings ) to understand how best to use. I am still only a beginner in Italian but this works well for me - but I can see it work equally well for improvers too.

### 5/5 — Really simple & works brilliantly

*2011-02-26, version 1.1.0*

I find this app much better than the other vocabulary ones I've tried, I wish it was available in German too! My Italian vocabulary is much better since I've been using it.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 2/5 — Great potential

*2013-10-18*

Would be nice to be able to hear the words spoken by a native. Hope you can do that.

### 3/5 — I Like This App Very Much

*2012-12-01*

This is a great app for rote learning which, if one is serious about learning a new language, cannot be avoided when it comes to retaining vocabulary. I have three issues with it, however:

First, there is no sound to help learn how the word sounds.

Second, there are not enough examples of use of the words in context.

Third, getting examples from random tweets is NOT the way to rectify issue two. Most of them are condensed so their meanings are sketchy at the best of time. One has to be fluent in Italian to get their meaning which makes the whole learning thing pointless. Better to stick with a few more included examples with their translations.

### 4/5 — Pretty good

*2013-08-10*

Good app for the price. The flash cards are quite useful, especially for verbs in that they link to each Vern's conjugation. Nice touch that.

### 4/5 — Great App with some bugs

*2013-07-22*

This is a great app and it helps you to learn vocabulary and great for recall if you already know the language. However, for verbs it says that it has 237 verbs but only one verbs downloads so you cannot learn those. It would also be great to have definitions and exact conjugations of verbs to help with correct phrases. Please fix the bug with verbs. I do recommend this app since I used it while in Italy but not all words can be found unless you do the upgrade.

### 4/5 — More and better updates please

*2013-07-03*

Great app for memorizing vocabulary. Could use more frequent updates, however. Waiting months for an update and getting only four new words is ridiculous.

Also, some words do not include the definite article for some reason. Don't know why this is.

### 4/5 — Good app. Great if it had audio

*2011-04-12*

This is a great flashcard app with a ton of words. The only thing that would make this better is if you could hear pronunciations of the words. Considering it's free you should still get this though its really good

### 5/5 — Great simple FlashCard app

*2018-06-09, version 1.8.0*

Great app, nice and simple. Hopefully there’ll be an update with more words though!

### 5/5 — How about....?

*2015-11-14, version 1.6.0*

This is a super app and I do it every day and find I have quick recall of the words in my lessons and conversation group. How about either adding blanks for the student's own words or creating an app for one to add one's own words on the same system? Thanks juniper.ruth

### 5/5 — Big help

*2015-09-11*

This app is a big help for me. 5 stars.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2014-08-30*

I am learning Italian and this app helps me greatly improve my vocabulary. I highly recommend it. I wish they also have it in French.

## Most praised reviews (6 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Emh1908

*2014-02-24, version 1.4.1*

A great way to learn new vocab and to revise. The dictionary contains loads of useful everyday words and it's so easy to use. Brilliant! Would be good to have in some other languages.

### 5/5 — 5 Stars

*2014-01-29, version 1.4.1*

This is the best flashcard app that I have found. It's a delight to use, it's easy on the eye, and the creator is keen and responsive to feedback. It sounds clichéd, but I've learnt more vocabulary in the weeks I've been using it than in the years I've been trying to learn Italian. I hope the vocab list continues to grow, and thanks to the author.

### 5/5 — Simple User Interface, great selection of words

*2013-07-23*

I was looking for flashcards to build vocab, not just learn communicate while traveling. out of all the apps i downloaded, this is the one that gave me what i wanted.

Here's what I like about it:

the user interface is simple
there are a lot of words in each category
Not just binary (right v. wrong) but also a "need more work" option
The info on verbs includes complete conjugation
The example sentences aren't too simple

admittedly I don't take advantage of the learning schedule this app provides.

### 5/5 — Yhw italian

*2013-03-01, version 1.3.1*

A great app. It has helped very much.

### 5/5 — Excellent app

*2013-02-10*

Daily reminders to review are great. Really helps expand vocabulary and retention for intermediate learners. Reflective english/italian grouping helps identify and associate same word meaning in two languages better. Only recommendations: sound would be great to hear proper pronunciation, more frequent updates, verbs could be broken into smaller categories (300+ words in one learning category is a lot to process), problem words repeated more frequently for review. Verbs can be challenging and intimidating in Italian ; maybe a future app idea like this that just focuses on verbs and tenses? Otherwise great app! I use it every day.

### 5/5 — Really useful

*2013-01-27, version 1.3.1*

Exactly what is needed
