## What is Flashcardly?

Vocabulary that sticks, from flashcards you'll actually want to open.

Flashcardly is the vocabulary coach that turns memorizing words into a game. Guided lessons, four playful practice modes, and smart spaced repetition help you learn a word once and keep it for good — across 17 languages, in light or dark mode.

HOW IT WORKS
• Guided lessons in bite-size parts — about 3–5 minutes each, perfect for a coffee break or a bus ride.
• Four practice game modes: Word Match, Audio Match, Sentence Builder, and Type It Out — plus Mixed Practice to keep it fresh.
• Spaced-repetition review (Leitner system) surfaces your "Words to Practice" exactly when you're about to forget them.
• Flip-and-rate flashcards let you check yourself honestly and feed the review that matters.
• Real audio and example sentences so words stick in context, not isolation.

YOUR DECKS, YOUR WAY
Study beautifully curated decks, or add your own words to build custom decks around exactly what you want to learn — a trip, a class, a show you're obsessed with.

17 LANGUAGES
English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Greek, Hungarian, Serbian, Turkish, Czech, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, and Hebrew.

It's also a rare flashcard app that takes Serbian, Greek, Czech, Hungarian, Hebrew, and Turkish seriously instead of treating them as afterthoughts.

STAY MOTIVATED
Earn XP, build streaks, level up, and unlock achievements. Progress you can see keeps you coming back — one small win at a time.

Free to start. Your first lesson takes about five minutes. See how much sticks by the end of the week.

### 3/5 — A bit frustrating

*2026-07-26*

From the demo:

I like that the app presents you with only 5 new words at a time. Learning is best done in small bites.

The matching game then tests you on those 5 words. Also good.

But then comes the sentence-builder. You’re supposed to use all sorts of words that you’ve never seen before.

That’s actually a bit frustrating.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback!

We are happy to say the sentence-builder already is a bonus only, skippable part in actual in-app lessons (after completing demo).

We will also be adjusting the demo and have it fixed within a couple of weeks.

Thanks again for your valuable insight, we appreciate it!

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.0.3 — 2026-08-11

A cleaner look — progress bars and buttons are easier to read at a glance.

We also fixed a blank card on your profile and tips that kept reappearing, and made your daily reminders more reliable.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-08-07

A smoother start: onboarding is quicker and takes fewer taps to get through.

Signing in is more reliable, and you'll get a clearer message if something does go wrong.

Plus general bug fixes and polish across the app.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-07-30

Important bug fixes & Sentence Builder now teaches before it tests.

• Every round opens with the sentence in front of you — read it, tap to hear it, then build it from memory. No more guessing at words you've never met.
• Early lessons now use sentences made from words you've actually learned, and the word tray stays a comfortable size.
• A fresher onboarding: cleaner icons, real flag tiles, brighter celebrations.
• Dark mode now looks right on every flashcard screen.

Plus fixes for things you reported: switching your learning language no longer sends your path back to lesson 1, and typing practice no longer asks you to spell out stray punctuation.

Thanks for every review — keep them coming.

### 1.0 — 2026-07-25
