I really like this app to learn French and Italian. I like that I can learn new words in context and at my own pace. It is helpful to do the tutorial before starting. I think it works best if you have a foundation in the language. I recommend it. It is also very affordable.

I taught various grade levels in my 23 year career.  As a Bilingual teacher, I could have used a program like FocusWord Flashcards with my students.  Just 10 to 15 minutes a day would have been beneficial to them! It allows them to learn at their own pace!  I have used this program and it is helping me learn a 3rd language. It has been said that learning a new language makes certain connections in the brain.  Sort of like an exercise that keeps it healthy.  Since I started using it, I’ve noticed that my piano playing has improved!  It has helped me visualize things and make connections that have actually surprised me!  I say, give it a try and see what it can do for you!
