### 4/5 — Very helpful and could be better

*2025-12-16, version 3.1*

This app really proved to be helpful for me in my seminary courses. The fact that I could specify word type and combine certain lessons together was awesome.

A few suggestions to make it better:
1. For nouns, take the article out of the card. Most seminary professors require you memorize the gender of the noun so having that on the answer side will allow the user to quiz themselves on that portion of it as well

2. The photo/pneumonic device function is good but it should be limited to the answer side

3. The app should allow me to “flag” certain words that are uniquely challenging for me so that I can craft a set based out of those in particular.

### 4/5 — PLEASE ADD A BACK BUTTON

*2025-12-10, version 3.1*

Hey guys, great app. I love practicing the core 320 words with ya’ll. Absolutely worth the investment. But please add a back button in the flash card sequence, so I can repeat difficult to pronounce words. Grateful!

### 4/5 — A few modifications to the app would be great

*2024-10-14, version 3.1*

So far I really like the app - it’s comprehensive and thorough. The mnemonics are hit or miss, but still helpful.

Some suggestions to the developer:

1. Would be great to be able to flip the card again once you flip it the first time. I want to be able to see the greek word to review again

2. Ability to go backwards after you have passed the current word would also be good.

3. Once you leave the app for a long time, the app does not save where you were last. This is inconvenient as I can’t pick up where I left off.

So far these just some inconveniences/potential for improvement I’ve found. Otherwise the App is helping me learn the greek words.

### 4/5 — Great features and overall good.

*2024-05-19, version 3.1*

This app appears to work great so far from my experience. I must admit I was a bit disappointed that the app was $5.99 and then 10 minutes into using the app I found out it was barely usable without also paying $2.99 for the pro version. It’s not that much money ofc, but it still felt a bit dishonest…

### 3/5 — Lags

*2023-06-06, version 3.1*

Great, but there a bugs when adjusting the range. There are so many options that it lags and you have to close the app.

### 3/5 — Good not Great

*2022-03-27, version 3.1*

The main bonus with this app is that it’s an app and available anywhere you take your phone. I use it exclusively to memorize vocabulary words from Bill Mounce’s 4th edition New Testament Greek. I find it mildly annoying that the definition on the app don’t always mirror the definitions found on the back of his flash cards or in the book. Sometimes word definitions are added or omitted, which is frustrating when you are trying to memorize precise definitions for a test. The other issue I found is that the words aren’t always pronounced accurately. For instance, when the app says Pneuma, which is the greek word for spirit, it does not pronounce the P. Mounce clearly states there are no silent letters in Greek. This makes me question other pronunciations, so I cant proceed with as much confidence as I should when using the app. So I use it, but only when the flash cards are not available.

### 3/5 — Good app missing some features

*2021-11-06, version 3.1*

Great app, but there a couple things that I really would like to see a couple of features: (1) the ability to break up larger sets of words into smaller adjustable subsets for memory work. I like to memorise new words in groups of 10 (my brain is too old to start with the 20 or 30 word sets that are generated by the typical chapter) and (2) the ability to flip back to see the Greek word once I have flipped to see the English gloss. Currently you can’t flip back and forth and before selecting correct/incorrect. I’m a new user, so if I have somehow missed this functionality please correct me. The ability to control set size (other than when using the word frequency panel to filter down, which I find kludgey) would be huge for me.

### 4/5 — Useful app, needs a fix.

*2021-09-26, version 3.1*

This app has been quite useful for me, definitely worth the buy. The only problem I hope the author will address is that certain flash cards will not turn over from Greek to English when I hit “flip”. I hope you will fix this.

### 3/5 — Good for learning Greek, App could be better

*2021-09-17, version 3.1*

This app has helped me a lot so far in my Greek class, however I feel like the quality of the app aesthetically and interface-wise could be better considering it’s an app you have to purchase. Looks a little thrown together. Interface is a little clunky and confusing.

A few features that I think would be great:

- A button to flip between the Greek word and English word after you have pressed flip. Right now the only options are to press next, correct, or wrong.

- Save previous settings. Not that big of a deal, but I like to take out the images, examples, and auto-play recordings when learning the words. Wish it would remember my settings so didn’t have to change those every single time.

### 2/5 — A couple important glitches

*2021-08-06, version 3.1*

Glitch 1: When you press the play button on a flash card it will always skip back and pronounce the first word in the deck. Please make it pronounce the card that I was just looking at.

Glitch 2: When I select incorrect or correct please save this information in core data so I don’t have to go through the entire deck just to get to a card the cards I didn’t know.

Either way, thanks for making the app and God bless.

### 5/5 — Fast way to learn

*2021-07-06, version 2.6.1*

Being able to hear the pronouncement of the word and see it written down really has made this a great tool for me.

### 5/5 — Pastor Charles

*2021-06-09, version 2.6.1*

I just love the treasures of the infallible and inerrant word of our God. Furthermore, what a delight to have something to assist me in learning His chosen languages in the palm of my hands. Whether this app aids me in personal studies or in teaching the sufficient word of Truth, may He be glorified for the things he has done and supplied for our continual edification.

### 2/5 — Pay twice

*2021-01-28, version 2.6.1*

I already purchased this app but now I need to pay four dollars in order to continue using the flashcards? That’s a bit ridiculous.

### 3/5 — Problem with Pro Version

*2020-05-08, version 2.05*

I made the in app purchase of the pro version for my iPad and think it was well worth it. However, when I download the basic app on my iPhone I can’t upgrade to Pro version. The app states that in app purchases are unavailable and it won’t let me restore my purchase either. Hopefully this bug will get corrected. If it does I’d rate the app 5 stars.

### 5/5 — Very helpful

*2020-05-06, version 2.05*

I can’t believe this app is available. It is convenient and easy to use. Thanks.

### 5/5 — Sound!

*2019-10-15, version 2.05*

This is a great app! At first the sound wasn’t working for me because my mute was on. Danny responded quickly to my problem and helped me get it working on my phone. This app will be a great help in learning Greek! Thanks, Danny!

### 5/5 — Very Good app

*2019-03-13, version 2.02*

Started out with a serious crash problem, but the developer worked with me and fixed it very quickly. So, this is an updated review.

This is a really good app that allows you to do vocabulary from a number of modern texts. Definitely worth the upgrade to pro!

I have two suggestions for improvement: (a) I would love it if you can just swipe back-and-forth on the card when you’re learning it, and (b) I would like to see paradigms such as the definite article as an option for the flashcards.

### 5/5 — Great Mounce Companion

*2019-03-12, version 2.02*

Great to be able to follow along and select vocabulary that lines up with the BBG textbook. The developer has also been very helpful with troubleshooting.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No sound

*2020-02-27, version 2.05*

Absolutely hopeless. This app offers sound but the sound button never works. I have tried everything my phone and still this app will not speak the pronunciation. I would like a refund please.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t match Mounce definitions

*2019-08-27, version 2.05*

The English translations of the Greek words do not match Mounce’s Greek text. This app may only give one word where Mounce lists 3 or 4 possible translations. I regret spending $6 on this app...

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2019-02-10, version 2.0*

Mine crashes too. Is there a fix?

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2018-08-27, version 1.1.4*

Can I get my money back? The app doesn’t work in a way that allows you to effectively study, nor does it include things like the alphabet, no way to see the whole list of words, or advance without flipping the card, can’t look at the card again, or review part of the list, I could go on. I paid money hoping for something better than Quizlet and was severely disappointed.

### 1/5 — Ms

*2018-04-02, version 1.1.4*

The audio is not playing at all in my iPhone 7, please kindly assist!

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2015-10-22, version 1.0.4*

Current version does not work on my iPhone
I get only the first screen and nothing else

### 1/5 — I need a refund

*2015-10-20*

His app does not work for iPhone version 9.0.2

**Developer response:** I'm very sorry you are having trouble. If you could please email me to let me know the issues you are facing.

### 1/5 — DON'T BUY - DOES NOT WORK With IOS9

*2015-10-16, version 1.0.4*

This app is not compatible with IOS9. I wasted $5.99.

*2025-01-15, version 3.1*

I love that you can customize the cards, and you can see the vocabulary used in context in a real passage of scripture; it really helps solidify the word and concept. Bill Mounce is the best; my Greek class uses his textbook that goes with this app. I can’t recommend it enough

*2021-07-22, version 3.1*

Danny, Thank you so much for including a landscape option for iPad as you promised. Your last update has improved the learning experience exponentially. Having the audio Greek and picture prompts has refreshed my enthusiasm as a student. Greek is difficult enough but your app has certainly given me hope for success. Again, many thanks. Kris
