Crashes every time. UX designed by a five year old. Constantly reaching out to customer support for help to end the trip to ensure I don’t get over charged. I spent half an hour just trying to end my trip with their latest version of the app and it didn’t nothing. I eventually had to get the call center to end it after it went over my booking period and they were about to charge me extra. This is not also the first time it happened. Very frustrating and avoid Flexicar if you can. ### 1/5 — White Screen *2025-05-04, version 1.0.489* Don’t update to the latest revision of the app. You will get a ‘blank’ white screen after the update and render the app useless. You will not be able to lock/unlock the car at all. You will have to call customer service up and provide your security details each time you want to lock/unlock the car. Depending on the receiver, you can spend anywhere from 3mins to 15mins with the cs representative. Plagued with issues and no support, ignored emails and no assistance either pre or post use of their service. It’s a great, convenient, cost effective product and good card but the app is pretty useless. The last two times I’ve used it I’ve wasted 15min each end of the booking getting a service agent to unlock/lock the vehicle and start/end the booking. The listed car share parking places on Google Map are out-of-date. I was misled there is a car sharing slot in my local and paid the annual fee to sign up, but immediately learned they have ceased operation here. ### 1/5 — The worst app ever *2025-03-15, version 1.0.477* I’ve been a regular Flexicar user for many years. When they released their redesigned app a few years ago they went completely downhill. It barely functions and makes booking a vehicle so hard (the timezone always gets mixed up), often I can’t lock/unlock the car using the app (and there’s no physical key), and it’s near impossible to end a booking via the app – I frequently have to call support (and wait on hold for 5 mins) to end the booking, by which time I have already been charged late fees that I have to contest via email and it can take many weeks. Just truly the worst user experience. Whoever designed the app knows absolutely nothing about good user experience. Shameful. ### 1/5 — Bad app, bad company, good support staff *2025-02-21, version 1.0.477* I recommend avoiding this app, it will bring more pain than its worth. Pain points include being overcharged, cars constantly missing fuel cards, getting hit with extra fees. For the app itself, it constantly crashes, doesn’t store information correctly, it forgets that you have bookings. It won’t connect with cars when you arrive or finish a journey. ### 1/5 — Horrible *2024-12-23, version 1.0.477* Very poor app, buggy, works when it wants, very poor service. The OTP never works. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Bug ridden and slow *2025-08-26, version 1.5.30* Update 26/08/2025: Latest app version 1.5.30 is still so bad despite the claims it fixes stuff. It’s 5:58pm and I go to select 7-8pm and 7pm apparently isn’t a permitted pickup time? Stupid. — This is a horrific app. It’s always full of bugs throughout the entire user journey from booking to unlocking or locking the car. You’ll be mid booking and parking the car, go to lock it in the app, and the app has decided it’s a great time to log you out. Sometimes it also presents a token expired, cannot be refreshed error. The only way to resolve this is to delete and reinstall the app. Figure it out. It’s surely harder to build such a flop app than one that works. ### 1/5 — Dear Flexicar you have a useless IT team *2025-08-01, version 1.5.15* This app is unusable. I’ve tried capturing my ID many times but it just sends me in a loop to redo it after telling me I was successful. As someone who works in tech this is unacceptable. ### 1/5 — Bad support, service and car readiness *2025-06-27, version 1.0.498* Booked an electric car, It was dirty, had 10% charge and was parked 4 blocks away from the correct parking address. Called support, they couldn’t change my booking to another car, charged me for this booking and I couldn’t end this useless ride, because “the car was too far away from the parking” ! Something that wasn’t my fault. I contacted support about ending the ride, they told me I can’t because it’s parked far away from the parking spot. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ### 1/5 — App didn’t work *2025-06-19, version 1.0.498* Couldn’t even log in the app just went around and around in circles on the third or fourth step of the start up process. Waited, disconnected from wifi, waited again, deleted the app re downloaded the app, waited again - circles and cirlces wouldn’t move. ### 1/5 — Waste of time *2025-06-14, version 1.0.498* Waste of time ### 1/5 — WARNING! *2025-06-03, version 1.0.498* App is slow, lags, doesn’t unlock quickly. Takes forever to do anything. Constantly logs me out. Never ever log me out for any reason, ever. THEN, I parked and LOCKED the car, and when I returned, a random gig dude on a food delivery bike had my car OPEN and UNLOCKED, in the middle of my booking. I had to wait for him to finish taking photos of the car before I could drive it. What if my stuff got stolen? Can any cleaner can open ANY car, even during bookings?? I will never trust this platform with my bag etc again. After all this bs, I returned the car ON TIME, and the app lagged and took FOREVER to “end my trip”, and then showed a “timed out on our end” error. I had to try again and they charged me a late fee. It was super easy and the app is way nicer imo. But since the last big change to the new app with so many issues, I found myself using GoGet more and more. Just came back to try and use Flexi again yesterday and it was okay. Even though I had to call Customer Support due to y account somehow was in Pending state despite being Flexi customer for the last 2 years, but after that everything went smoothly. Missing feature from the old app is the live car location, also now it is app-required for lock and unlock car, which in some case would be annoying when your phone die or no internet connection. Overall the new app looks better, need a bit more work on stability. Pricing is increased and a touch on the high side now. But the fleet is nice with modern car. ### 4/5 — Much better than launch *2023-08-12, version 1.0.173* Great service and the new app has got steadily better since launch. Imagine unlocking your car with the app, only to find yourself logged out when you need to lock it later! The subsequent login process is unnecessarily difficult. Booking times are also plagued with glitches. Considering the price hikes scheduled for May 2025, Flexicar/Hertz really needs to invest in fixing these fundamental issues and deliver a functional app experience. ### 3/5 — Useful, but not the prettiest app *2025-02-05, version 1.0.477* A bunch of bugs.
