### 3/5 — It’s good when it works

*2026-07-10*

It’s good when it works. Lately the problems have reduced so I’m happy with that. I feel it’s too much to charge a fee for both lunch orders and recess. If you place a recess and lunch order on the same day, at the same time, then only one fee should be charged, as it all adds up, especially when you order most days of the week.

On top of the order fees, there’s also fees for using credit cards etc. it just makes it costly.

**Developer response:** Hi there,
Thanks for your feedback, and we’re glad to hear that you’ve noticed improvements in reliability.

We understand your concern about fees adding up, particularly for families placing orders regularly. Recess service and lunch service orders are treated as separate orders, so an Order Fee applies to each service, even when they’re placed at the same time.

We know no one likes having to pay fees. The fees we charge help cover the cost of providing and maintaining the service, including investing in its reliability and security, and providing customer service and support when you need it.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts.

### 3/5 — Fees

*2026-06-09, version 4.2.5*

I always top up the account with a minimum of $50 as it says the fee will be waved for deposits of $50 or over. I continually get charged the fee and it is disappointing. Especially as the school only accepts payment via your app and not cash at all

### 3/5 — Good app but very high fees

*2026-06-08, version 4.2.4*

Fees are charged per order and per period and per kid, which results in an unreasonably high fees.

### 2/5 — Unreliable when I really need it!

*2026-06-05, version 4.2.4*

Relied on Flexischools to order my boys lunches but half the time the system is always down!

### 4/5 — Easy to the App for a Quick Kids Lunch

*2026-06-04, version 4.2.4*

The app is easy to use and I am able to organise my kid’s lunch quickly when a trip to the shops was forgotten and there’s nothing in the house.

### 3/5 — Uniform

*2026-06-01, version 4.2.4*

I have not had an issue with the lunch orders, however, tried to order uniformes through the app. Order placed on 12/01. Order prepared on 28/01. We have not received the order until mid/end March. App does not give updates about the order and/or contact details of the company preparing it so we could understand what was going on.

### 3/5 — Not a fan of automatic up marketing

*2026-06-01, version 4.2.4*

The apps ok, but up marketing automatically to your order without a choice is frustrating .. for eg, if I order my son a pie I have to buy a sauce satchel even though he doesn’t use it.

### 3/5 — Once you know how to use it it’s great

*2026-05-27, version 4.2.4*

The app it’s self is cuddly to set up but once you’re set up ate quite easy to navigate around as a user.
The downside is that there are fees everywhere.
A fee to add money to your account
A fee to place an order online
A fee to buy in person at school.
With 2 kids and 1 hot lunch a week I’m easily paying $2-3 per week in fees. Each 10 week term that’s $25, so about $100 a year in fees.
The school will sometimes also have parents pay for additional activities through Flexischools so the fees can really add up.

### 3/5 — Convenient

*2026-05-27, version 4.2.4*

The app is great for convenience but school lunch choices are limited. It also doesn’t allow for pre-ordering for the full week (when needed) so you incur a surcharge for each order.

### 2/5 — Beware When Leaving School

*2026-05-26, version 4.2.4*

A great app for ordering for school. We however discovered that our account does not automatically close when leaving the school. We received an email from Flexischools threatening monthly ‘Inactive Account Fees’ unless we logged back in and deactivated our account. It was in the bottom of an ‘Inactive Account’ email which felt easy to miss.

### 2/5 — Constantly crashes

*2026-04-30, version 4.1.76*

Have to delete and reload frequently. Conflicts with the other parent’s account (despite it saying both can have an account). Confusing menu layout.

### 2/5 — Sooo many buggybugs

*2026-04-23, version 4.1.76*

I'm excuse me so many bugyobugs

### 3/5 — Weekly spend limits

*2026-04-03, version 4.1.75*

Would be really good to have a weekly spend limit as well as a daily spend limit especially in this cost of living crisis as I suggested via email a couple of weeks ago. Anyone else want this as well?

### 3/5 — Design and usability

*2026-02-10, version 4.1.72*

Much better than previous versions but falls over in some areas. For example you have an FLX card page which doesn’t work at all.

### 3/5 — Functional but has quirks

*2025-11-28, version 4.1.71*

We have used for a year and here’s some things I would have loved to provide to them but they do not have a feedback option in their app so hopefully the developers will see here.

1. A couple of times the app topped up my wallet for the amount of the order without putting the order through and my kids had no lunch. This has happened to friends and school says it happens a lot. This was from the checkout screen.

2. If I had $28.50 in my wallet, and try to order lunches for $29.50, the checkout doesn’t recognise my wallet and tries to charge me $29.50+fees. I have to split my order so the cost is less than my wallet for my wallet to get used.

3. Would be great to be able to toggle between children from the order screen, rather than having to go back a screen or two.

4. The Tuckshop could have some more flexibility with allergy or meta labels. I think this is limited to 4x (?) and nuts and halal take up 2. Our Tuckshop has had a work around which is sub optimal but works, just would be great for them to be able to apply more labels.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Over charge

*2026-06-02, version 4.2.4*

They surcharcharhe os too much and they charge for every individual order in the same bill. Also charges for top up. Just for my kids school nomither way to do it. Can nit carry changes everyday. Somhave to use this app. Rubbish

### 1/5 — High fees for parents

*2026-05-29, version 4.2.4*

I miss our old school ordering app, the fees parents pay per child per order is a lot, plus then there’s fees to even top up your account as well!

### 1/5 — High fees

*2026-05-27, version 4.2.4*

Not impressed with the ongoing fees to make a simple lunch order

### 1/5 — Soooo buggy

*2026-05-07, version 4.1.76*

Of all the apps thrust upon parents this is the worst. Not only are there constant fees for ordering and topping up it’s just super buggy. Menus fail to load. When they do you often can’t add an item to the cart. Network timeouts a constant issue. NFRs nowhere to be found. Some days I seriously wonder if my kid will actually get anything…..

### 1/5 — Menu Glitch

*2026-03-17, version 4.1.74*

The app is extremely difficult to use. Every time I try to place an order, I have to open and close it multiple times before it finally works. I’ve already updated the app, but the issue hasn’t been fixed.

I’ve been dealing with this problem for about a year now, and it’s been very frustrating to place orders every single time. Whenever I tap on the menu, it often doesn’t respond or accept my selection.

Please fix these issues as soon as possible.

### 1/5 — Duplicate orders because of app glitches

*2026-02-13, version 4.1.72*

Charged 4 times because there app had an error during the payment process then duplicated the orders.

When I contact the app owners they tell me to contact the school, the school tells me it’s an issue with the app and they didn’t receive extra orders or money.

The app owners don’t even try to help and just fob me off instead of actually dealing with the issue.

Terrible service and a scam that we are forced to order through a dodgy app.

### 1/5 — WTH

*2026-02-04, version 4.1.72*

Why do I need to give money to this company to hold it in advance and auto top up, making it prone to fraud and impossible to properly track expenses? Add fees and confusing rules for ordering, I'm surprised they are in business but there may be little competition

### 1/5 — Don’t Trust!

*2025-11-26, version 4.1.71*

If they see you haven’t used your account, and there is money in your account, they charge you an “inactive amount fee”! $1.5/month for nothing. If you look at the recent reviews, majority are negative. I wonder how they got the 4.8 rating?

### 1/5 — Bad

*2025-09-02, version 4.1.65*

Its not useful because of the bad usefulness

### 1/5 — Cannot do a simple task

*2025-08-28, version 4.1.65*

Trying to activate a card does not work. Raising a support case goes into space and you never hear from the support team. I have a useless card in my child’s possession. I have no reference for my case either.

### 5/5 — Great!

### 5/5 — Really good so far

*2026-03-26, version 4.1.75*

Personally I think this app is really good for buying school food, As a student it’s so simple and I can pay for lunches and collect it the following recess or lunch. Strongly reccommend

### 5/5 — So easy

*2025-12-27, version 4.1.71*

Love this app. So convenient and user friendly

### 5/5 — This is the best add

*2025-08-01, version 4.1.64*

Haha

### 5/5 — Developer listened and improved app

*2025-06-05, version 4.1.59*

I absolutely hated this app when first asked to move over to it, but the developer listened to concerns and implemented improvements. Can’t fault that. As it stands, it’s working well for everything I could want it to and my issues with it have been resolved.

### 5/5 — Beautiful

*2024-07-15, version 4.0.80*

yes.

### 5/5 — Canteen

*2023-06-01*

First of all, thank you to those lovely people who volunteer their time to work at the canteen and for preparing my son’s lunches. I’ve had the app installed for few months and didn’t realise I could order lunches so I’m really pleased to be able to order for him. Only for this week he’ll have a lunch order every day bc he wants to try different kinds of food haha

But love the app. Easy and user friendly
