## What is FlicQ Flashcards?

Review a card at the moment you are about to forget it. Not on a fixed schedule, not when an app decides it is time, but at the point where the repetition actually does something.

That timing comes from FSRS, the modern spaced-repetition algorithm. Rate a card Again, Hard, Good or Easy and FlicQ models how durable the memory is, then chooses the next interval for you. You see the interval on each button before you pick it.

BRING THE DECKS YOU ALREADY HAVE
• Import Anki .apkg files with their formatting intact — custom templates, styling, images, audio, cloze deletions, furigana and ruby text, and type-in-the-answer cards all render the way they were authored
• Browse thousands of free decks shared by the AnkiWeb community from inside the app, and download one in a couple of taps
• Import from CSV or TSV, or paste a list straight in

### 1.1 — 2026-09-24

Version 1.1 is a big one. FlicQ now schedules your cards the way Anki
does — and it can tell you when they're ready.

A SCHEDULER THAT MATCHES ANKI

FlicQ now uses FSRS-6, the same algorithm current Anki uses, so a card
you rate Again, Hard, Good or Easy gets the interval it would get there.
That brings real learning steps (1m and 10m by default, and yours to
change), relearning steps after a lapse, a study day that begins at 4am
rather than midnight, interval fuzz so cards don't clump on the same
day, and leech handling for cards you keep forgetting.

SESSIONS THAT BEHAVE

Study sessions are now built the way Anki builds them. Daily limits for
new cards and reviews are respected, including across subdecks. A card
you rate Again or Hard genuinely comes back later in the same session
instead of vanishing until tomorrow. The counts at the top of the study
screen track new, learning and review separately.

DECK OPTIONS

Per-deck control over learning and relearning steps, new cards and
reviews per day, target retention, maximum interval, leech threshold and
action, display order, sibling burying and FSRS parameters — with
"apply to subdecks" when you want a whole tree to share them.

CARD ACTIONS

Bury or suspend a single card or a whole note, flag it, mark it, set a
due date, forget it, or send it back into the new-card queue.

FOUR NEW CARD TYPES

• Basic (and reversed card) — one note, two cards, properly linked
• Basic (optional reversed card) — the second card only when you ask
• Basic (type in the answer) — type it out and see what you got wrong
• Image Occlusion — hide parts of a diagram and recall them one at a
  time, with an editor for rectangular, elliptical and freeform masks
  plus labels

Cloze notes now create one card per deletion, the way Anki does, instead
of blanking every deletion on a single card.

ANKI IMPORT AND EXPORT

Importing an .apkg now keeps your learning progress: every card's
interval, due date and review history comes across, so a deck you have
been studying for years arrives mid-flight instead of starting from
scratch. Today's Anki export format is supported, and FlicQ's own
exports carry scheduling back out, so a deck can make the round trip.

STUDY REMINDERS

A daily reminder at a time you choose, which only arrives when there is
genuinely something to study and stays quiet on days you have already
done your cards. There is an optional evening nudge when a streak is
about to break, and the number of due cards on the app icon.

ALSO IN THIS VERSION

Deleting a deck is now reliable even if you close the app while it is
working — previously a large deck could reappear.
