## What is Flight Breaks?

Flight Breaks is an intuitive and simple way for airline crews or pilots to seamlessly calculate rest periods on augmented international or long-haul flights. The app is designed for airline crews worldwide who need to divide up specific amounts of flight time for determining rest and work periods. 
 
Simply set the “Off Time” (take off time), then set the “Flight Time” (duration of flight) as shown on your flight plan, and the “On Time” (land time) is calculated.  Additionally, if the “On Time” changes significantly (longer or shorter) due to short cuts or favorable/unfavorable winds, you can change the “On Time” to match the flight computer. This will then in turn alter the flight time and breaks accordingly.
 
Various break options are available depending on how your airline or crew wants to divide up the breaks.  The parameters for when the first break starts and when the last break ends are easy to change.  There’s even an option for the amount of time in between breaks too!

Pretty good app. I was a fast breaks user but looks like that one has disappear. One feature I really liked was having an active countdown clock on the screen when on a break. Maybe that can be added?

Also there is no guidance anywhere for what some of the break codes are under the airplane icon.

Ever since iOS 26 came out the app keeps resetting itself after you plugged in on the information to get the times. If you go back to check them after five or 10 minutes, they’re wiped out and it resets to some random numbers.

The alarm does not make any noise unless the phone is unlocked and open to the app page. Also, does not interface with Apple Watch so alarm will not sound or vibrate on watch either.

Due to the shorter flights, it would be nice to be able to modify each break so to compile with 117.
Like the IRO gets 1:45, while the PM and PF 
Get 2hrs.

Good Start.  Basically an update of "Cruise Rest" which was the best crew rest app out there until it quit working with the later IOS. My issue with Flight Breaks is the Ratio sliders wont give you an even 4:30 or 5:00 for the Center Block option.  It sets the break at a couple minutes short or long of an even number (i.e. 4:58 or 5:02). If you do manage to set the break at 5:00 and close the app it changes all the end times back to the app's preferred times and thus the alarms change by several minutes.  I have seen alarm times change by as much as 6 minutes. 

Also, changes don't always stay changed. I entered the wrong flight times on the top of the app and then made corrections.  When reopening the app the times sometimes revert to the initial entry. So, you can't always trust the app.

A good start but is still needs some work.

New FAR 117 break.  

Typically used on shorter flights with 3 pilots to comply with FAR 117. 
When 3 equal breaks would be less than 2 hours, 3 Pilots-FAR 117 break will ensure PF does not get less than a 2 hour break.  PF- always gets 2 hours.  PM and IRO split remaining break time as long as PM gets at least 90 minutes.  PM will never get a break time under 90 minutes.  

Report time and taxi-in time (defaulted to 7 minutes) are inputs so as to accurately calculate FDP.  First half and second half of FDP visually shown across break schedule.  Assumes PF will take 3rd break so as to comply with FAR 117.
