## What is Flight1?

Skycatch Drone Mission Planner

Flight1 is a robust, multifunctional drone mission planning app from Skycatch. The autonomous flight app works with Skycatch Explore1, DJI P4, P4P, P4RTK and M210RTK drones. The app automates aerial mapping from takeoff to landing and allows you to customize your flight settings to ensure you capture the exact images you need. 

Flight1 app functionality includes:
Select your area of interest on the satellite maps or import custom base maps
Automatically generate a flight plan with optimal waypoints, speed, and overlap for the altitude and resolution you choose.
Control the direction/heading of the flight path depending on wind, terrain and other obstacles.
If you need to stop your flight for whatever reason (including a drone battery swap), you can resume right where you left off.
Mission plans are saved automatically for recurring data capture on your sites.

When used as part of the High Precision Package (HPP) for Mining from Skycatch, your geotagged drone images are processed in the cloud (or on site with Skycatch Edge1) and turned into orthomaps, point clouds, 3D mesh and DTMs.  Measure, overlay, markup, analyze and share your processed data using Skycatch Data Hub or any software that uses point clouds.

I use this app for making drone maps for my construction clients and it works great. I was using another app before and it kept randomly closing for no reason which was very frustrating. I can’t afford any mistakes when I go on site or it could cost me a client so I really depend on my flight app and I trust the skycatch one the most

Love the updates they've made in this new version of Skycatch flight app. Now you can always see your flight stats no matter how many times you change your mission configurations (used to only be able to see the first time in previous version). Interface is also more robust and even easier to use.

I use Skycatch for drone data processing so it makes sense to use their flight app but I would use this app with any processing software. I tested with several data sets and this app gives me the best results.

FYI: Only available for the Skycatch drone right now, but a HUGE improvement over the last app. I was in early access for the last one and this one. It looks great and is very straightforward and easy to use, planning a mission is a breeze. This new app also has more functionality: they added a lot of features they didn’t have before, like front and side overlap adjustments and the ability to import/export mission files. Support tells me DJI drone support is coming, can’t wait to fly with my P4P.

I’ve been a beta tester for Skycatch and several other drone companies so I’ve gotten to test this flight app out for a while and it has been the most reliable, at least for me. No freezing or crashes so far (both app and drone)! Just keep your firmware and app updated and you should be smooth sailing.

Didn’t take me very long to figure out how to plan a flight on the map, easier than others that I’ve tried. It has a lot of options for your flight, you can control the direction and the altitude. Looking forward to seeing more options in the future like sharing flight plans. 

Heads up! It only works for the Skycatch drone, can’t wait until they add DJI drones
