## What is FlightDial?

FlightDial turns your wrist into a radar screen. Real aircraft, live from community ADS-B data, drawn on an analog dial at their true bearing and distance from you.
The dial turns with your compass, so a plane at 10 o’clock on screen is at 10 o’clock in the sky. One crossing the centre is about to pass overhead, and FlightDial taps you when it will.

### 1.0.4 — 2026-08-25

FlightDial now speaks German, and a new setting in Settings switches between imperial (ft, kt, NM) and metric (m, km/h, km) units. 
Also fixed: a dial still waiting for a location fix now says so, instead of looking like an empty sky.

A pinned plane now shows what it is. The label reads aircraft type over route over altitude - A320, VIE-HAM, FL340 - and sits below the plane instead of on top of it, so every line stays readable at a glance.

Tap a plane and its label now shows the route it is flying - VIE-HAM, not just a callsign. Routes come from adsbdb.com and cover most airline traffic; military and general aviation flights keep their callsign.

• Aircraft are now colored by airline, so you can pick out who's overhead at a glance.
• More reliable live traffic: if one community data source is quiet, FlightDial now falls back to another automatically.
