Used to be good. Haven’t flown in a couple years so haven’t used it much until lately. I see there hasn’t been an update in a while. Flight maps don’t work anymore. ### 4/5 — Not as great as it used to be. *2023-05-26* For some reason, with one of my phone updates, the map no longer tracks flights. When I open the app it seems like it sometimes flashes a few times while it’s updating. I like looking to see where the plane is when my daughter comes to visit. Great for managing your travel but the crashing is annoying. I find it strange though that the app cannot shift to landscape when I rotate my phone or iPad. Also, while the app works fine it is strange that there had been no update for 2 years. Has map view but i cannot figure out how to enlarge and other info not available But for me nothing better and almost perfect ### 5/5 — Great app for frequent travelers or mom-and-pop flyers *2019-07-09, version 3.6.2* Get the Elite version. For a few extra bucks the additional perks are worth it. My only petty gripe is that there is no way to sort upcoming flights chronologically different than completed flights. They are all together in one list, so the next upcoming flight can be listed behind all the future booked flights. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Map Tracking Feature Doesn’t Work. *2023-02-02, version 4.0.17* For the last year or so, I’ve been experiencing a problem with the Map Feature that tracks a flight from Airport Departure to Airport Arrival. I’ve complained to the FlightView App’s Customer Service to no avail. I even complained to their parent company OAG, also to no avail. I very disappointed since I paid for the Elite version and because I use this App frequently as I pick up and drop off people at Airports regularly. When Map Featured worked, this App was great and a very useful tool. Can someone from FlightView fix this for me?? I have an iPhone 12 ProMax with iOS 16.3. ### 1/5 — Map function has not worked in months *2022-12-01, version 4.0.17* When is the developer going to correct the map issue? For months now the map function of this app has not worked at all. Up until then it was a decent app and I used it constantly but I’m only giving it a one star rating because the developer obviously is not concerned enough about keeping the app in working order ### 1/5 — Maps is not working *2022-07-14, version 4.0.17* This used to be a very solid app, but it's not the case right now. Maps feature is not working, also there appears to be server issues so flight status is not being updated on a regular basis, live tracking etc. Feels like the developer has moved into something else, this app need a major refresh including its appearance to modernize it. Note I am paying for Elite, but it doesn't feel that way ### 1/5 — USED to be great! *2022-06-01, version 4.0.17* Key word “USED.” This app used to be able to pull flight info/itinerary from emails. No longer…somehow they broke this capability. Rather than waste time inputting flights/data, I might just as well just use the airline’s app! And now the maps don’t work either?? There’s no point to this app, unless it gets fixed. Removed Family Sharing without notice *2018-01-31, version 3.6.1* Im an airline pilot and decided to purchase the elite app partly because it had family sharing supported at the time of purchase. All of a sudden recently family sharing has been removed and others on my account can’t use this. I no longer own the same app features that I agreed to purchase. And i cannot even Zoomin in the map view. Map is all crap without names than why do they offer real time tracking. No any difference between free version and elite. You have to manually add your itineraries - rather download kayak, you just email them a copy of you flight confirmation and they do it all for you. Automatically. And it's much cheaper. I like seeing all my flights and it syncs to my calendar which is huge. My old app was prettier but Expedia bought and killed it. This one is the only one I’ve found that does everything I need. ### 5/5 — My go-to flight app *2020-02-12, version 3.6.2* I’ve been using FlightView since it came out. I’m a flight attendant and love being able to put all my trips in and get real time notifications. I’ve actually been notified by FlightView that my flight was cancelled before the company notified me. Great info all in one app. Fave feature: seeing the status of the inbound flight that you're waiting for. 2nd fave feature: letting the app update your loved ones of your status automatically (by sharing the login) ### 5/5 — Very Nice - 3 Green *2020-01-05, version 3.6.2* Data entry is easy and easily reviewed so future trip listings are limitless. They veiw from bottom to top which at first glance seems odd but it enables continuous listings to be easily scrolled through and reviewed with notes over time as desired, while the most recent is always on top. Further the actual flights within any trip do view top to bottom so the results are orderly and seamless scrolling through. I also use an empty trip for separater headings (no flights) for further referencing ease. In using several apps simultaneously, I’ve found this one to be usually the quickest to be current. If I could choose a tone for alerts I would just to distinguish it from random alerts. All together my favorite . ### 5/5 — Consolidate Flight Info *2019-10-14, version 3.6.2* I’ve been using the app for a few years now. I often fly to a common destination with colleagues from many locations. Makes it easy to keep track of everyone’s schedules. I love the “previous flight” feature. I can track a plane more than a day previous to anticipate coming schedule delays. The updates for gates and baggage claim areas update quickly and accurately, sometimes even sooner than an airline app. The weather forecasts for connecting and destination airports is valuable. The tracking maps also show current weather systems that may affect routes.
