## What is Float Comply?

Float Comply helps riders of user-owned VESC based single motor balancing boards keep motor power and top speed within local limits while preserving full performance for private-property use.

Many countries treat single motor balancing boards as their own vehicle category, typically capped at 250 W of motor power and 15 to 25 kmh top speed. Out of the box, compatible VESC based controller firmware may normally start at full power and fail an unloaded-wheel speed check even if you never exceed the limit while riding.

Float Comply fixes that with three simple buttons:

• COMPLY writes a compliant profile to your board's flash memory. From then on, every power-on boots into compliance mode.

• UNLEASH temporarily restores your captured full-power profile in RAM only, until the next power-off. Use this on private property, a private track, or wherever your local rules permit. Turn the board off and the compliance defaults are loaded again automatically.

• UNINSTALL writes your captured full-power profile back to flash, leaving the board exactly the way Float Comply found it. Sell the board or stop using the app whenever you like.

WHY THIS MATTERS

Speed checks in many cities measure top speed unloaded. A board running full-power controller settings can fail that test even if the rider never exceeds the legal limit on the road. Float Comply makes the board start compliant by default.

WHAT'S BUNDLED

• A 250-country dataset of legal limits with source links, auto-detected from your IP and device locale, with a manual picker for travel.
• A .fltc backup / restore mechanism so you never lose your captured full-power profile when you change phones.
• A sanity check on first connect that refuses to capture an already-Comply'd board as "stock".
• Known-board tracking so the app warns you before connecting to someone else's nearby board.

FREE

Float Comply is free. Comply, Unleash, Uninstall, Backup, Restore, Settings, and the country picker are available without a purchase — your captured stock profile is yours forever.

COMPATIBILITY

Float Comply is designed for user-owned VESC based single motor balancing boards with Bluetooth access. It is not intended for e-skateboards, multi-motor VESC builds, or other VESC based vehicles. It does not include third-party firmware, package files, or hardware content.

DISCLAIMER

Float Comply changes controller motor-limit settings and, where supported, may change package tiltback settings to make Comply mode safer. Use it at your own risk. Wrong settings, firmware changes, package-layout changes, hardware faults, or future controller specification changes can interfere with safe board behaviour. Always test changes carefully with the wheel unloaded before riding.

Operating an unregistered self-balancing PEV on public roads may be illegal in your jurisdiction even at compliant power and speed levels — many countries also require type approval, registration, insurance, helmets, or limit ridership to specific paths. Float Comply does not authorise any particular use. Confirm with your local authority before riding, and ride responsibly.

• Unleash now shows step-by-step progress while restoring stock Float/Refloat runtime settings.
• Added local success sounds after Comply and Unleash.
• Board names and ignore state now stay tied to board identity, not shared BLE names.

### 0.1.6 — 2026-07-02

• Added clearer tap-to-fix fresh-backup prompts after board firmware or Float/Refloat package changes.
• Added VESC firmware 7.0 stock re-capture support after board firmware updates.
• Restore now explains when it must use a backup captured on an older board software version.

### 0.1.5 — 2026-06-29

• Added a Custom country option with adjustable speed and power limits.
• Added safer fresh-backup prompts after board firmware or Float/Refloat package changes.
• Restore now explains when it must use a backup captured on an older board software version.
• Very high stock limits now display as unlimited instead of huge distracting numbers.
• Battery/BMS controllers are hidden from the scan list.

### 0.1.4 — 2026-05-22

• Added live country-rule updates with bundled offline fallback data.
• Added separate speed and power targets for Comply mode.
• Power above the legal target is marked as non-compliant.
