Floateers turns the map into a grid of tiles — and every ride, run, walk or paddle collects the ones you cross. Watch your map fill up, plan routes through fresh tiles, and go get them. THE TILES • Red — tiles you have collected, from your outings and imports • Blue — tiles you plan to visit, claimed by the routes you sketch • Green — the frontier: uncollected tiles bordering yours, your natural next targets • Orange — tiles filled live during your current outing, with a buzz for every new one SEE Your collected and planned tiles on Google Maps, with every imported session's path and stats: distance, average and top speed, elevation, steepest gradient. Tap a session for its stats and a 10-second replay of the whole track at its real pace. PLAN Tap the map to sketch a route — it saves itself as you go and shows live how many new tiles it crosses. Drag points to refine it, and its tiles turn blue until you collect them. GO Record an outing and Floateers follows along, outlining your current tile and filling new ones orange as you cross them — including with the screen off and the phone in your pocket. Keep the map turned to your riding direction like a car nav, and when you stop, save the outing or discard it. Runs happily alongside the Floaty logger — and if you record in both, importing the Floaty session wins, so nothing is stored twice. IMPORT & EXPORT Import sessions from the Floaty app (GPX, JSON, CSV) or GPX/KML tracks from any other app — multiple files at once. Re-imports update instead of duplicating. Export any path as KML or GPX, share all sessions as one KML for Google My Maps or Earth, and move everything to a new phone with a single transfer file. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account, no analytics, no ads, no tracking. Your tiles, outings and plans stay on your phone — nothing is uploaded anywhere. Inspired by the Floaty app, whose session exports Floateers imports — but it works on its own with any GPX or KML track. With an account, media syncs to your other devices and floateers.cc - and when you share a ride, the link carries the photos and videos too: camera dots on the route, a gallery with a proper video player (sound, play/pause, scrubbing), and your chosen ride photo as the link preview. Give photos titles and captions, write a ride description, pick a cover photo - in the app or comfortably on floateers.cc; it all syncs. Sharing is instant now: the link is ready immediately and photos hop on in the background while you watch the progress right in the ride sheet. Long videos convert automatically to a size that syncs. You can share planned routes too - friends open the link and can take the route straight into their own plans. New device? Sign in once and your settings come along. Plus many fixes from two real group-ride field days. Free, no ads, no tracking. ### 1.1.0 — 2026-08-14 Photos on your rides. Take pictures during a ride like you always do — when you save, Floateers offers to attach everything you shot, and each photo lands as a small camera dot exactly where on the path you took it. Stop and shoot a few? One dot, with a little gallery behind it. There's a one-time catch-up in Settings that finds photos from all your past rides — including imported ones. Everything stays on your phone. Your map, everywhere. Create a free optional account (no password — we email you a sign-in link) and your rides, tiles and plans sync automatically between your phone and floateers.cc. Renames, crops and deletions follow along. No account? Everything keeps working on your phone alone, as always. Share a ride with anyone: the Share button turns a ride into a link showing the route, tiles and stats in any browser — no app needed. Links expire after 90 days, and you can stop one anytime. Plus: display names for upcoming club features, smoother Apple Watch crown zooming, and the usual polish. Free, no ads, no tracking. ### 1.0.1 — 2026-08-11 Floateers now has an Apple Watch companion! Start a recording on your phone and your wrist shows a live tile radar: the tiles around you filling in as you cross them, nearby roads and water, your track and your stats.
