You claim this app is for people who want to be aware of their exposure to these cameras, but then the camera is a light gray 1px bubble on a dark gray map. That’s basically unseeable to the human eye. Also the loading bar, for when it thinks there is only 75 cameras in an area and is hammering OSM to pull new ones, is comically discrete and truncated in the first third. This little quirk really shows how much it was AI driven and how much you didn’t look at it. Thanks for responding to your criticism of overuse of AI with an AI slop letter. Do one thing for yourself man! Nothing new here besides a “tacticool” theme and a bunch of AI slop. The onboarding fear mongers and claims data is kept for years. We don’t need fear mongering when the real system is bad enough. Additionally the timeline intro shows cameras in places where none exist. The timeline evenly projects a surveillance grid across the entire US (even Montana) because it’s unguided AI slop. Oh and you get a hard sell immediately on completing the on boarding. Just some guy in AZ trying to make a quick buck on people’s anger about surveillance. Stick to the DeFlock app and FlockHopper. Save your money to donate to the fight. **Developer response:** Thanks for taking the time to leave detailed feedback.  "Kept for years." That isn't AI-generated or fear-based messaging. Our retention information comes from publicly available statutes, ordinances, agency policies, court rulings, and public records. Many jurisdictions have no statutory retention limit at all. Every transparency grade is backed by a source-cited methodology available in the app under How We Score. The opening animation is a stylized introduction, not a visualization of real camera locations, and we'll make that clearer in a future update. The live map itself contains only documented cameras sourced from OpenStreetMap, the DeFlock community, and verified community reports, it does not generate or project camera locations with AI. Your own position on the map could render as two separate pieces, with part of the marker drifting away from the dot while the map camera moved. It is now a single mark that stays locked to your coordinate. The closest-camera reticle had the same defect and is fixed too. Its spinning ring and lock pulse could slide off the camera they were locked onto. The position marker has also been redrawn so it stays legible over satellite imagery and is never mistaken for a camera pin, and it now reads out as "Your position" to VoiceOver. ### 1.1.3 — 2026-09-16 v1.1.3- NO MORE FREEZE. Two failures were costing operators the field. Both are dead. THE FREEZE: The background alert system was rebuilding its ring of watched cameras on every location update, and whenever there were few cameras near you it searched every camera in the country to do it. Driving produces up to three of those updates a second. The app locked up. That search now expands outward from your position, stops the moment it has enough, and is capped so an empty area costs almost nothing. THE ALERT STORM: Repeat protection was a plain timer with no idea whether you had actually left a camera's perimeter, so parking near one re-alerted every few minutes, forever. An alert now requires crossing into a perimeter from outside, with a buffer so GPS drift at the boundary cannot rattle it. Cameras left behind at speed re-arm on their own, and an alert held back by the spacing floor is delivered moments later rather than dropped. FASTER LOCK: Distance math in the tracking path no longer builds tens of thousands of throwaway objects per location update, so the closest-camera reticle settles faster on every drive. PRIVACY: Signing out or deleting your account now clears the analytics identity from the device instead of leaving it attached. Stay sharp out there. ### 1.1.2 — 2026-08-27 v1.1.2- NEAREST CONTACT. You asked to know which one is closest. Now the map tells you before you ask. Closest camera, marked: The nearest camera to you is now locked with an amber target reticle that follows you as you move. A strip above the map controls names it, tells you how far it is, which way to look for it, and what it is there to do. Tap it for the full dossier, or hit SHOW to fly straight to it. Range on everything: Distances now read in feet when you are inside a tenth of a mile, instead of collapsing to 0.0 MI while you stand directly under the lens. Every readout says what it is measuring from, your actual position or the center of the map, so an estimate is never presented as a fix. The 2-mile perimeter list shows range, type, and operator for each camera, tags the closest one, and opens any of them on tap. Purpose, up front: Tapping a camera now leads with what the device is for: exactly what it captures, who runs it, and how long that footage is kept. The bearing readout is now labeled as the lens direction, so it is never mistaken for the way to walk. Contributions that would not send: Operators reported verdicts, field notes, and photo-backed reports failing with CHECK YOUR CONNECTION on full signal. It was never the network. Every contribution path now restores your operator link before sending, and the errors tell the truth: link expired, actually offline, or refused by the server. Verdicts and notes send themselves the moment the link is restored, so a draft is never lost. Operator attribution corrected: A flaw in how community-reported cameras stored their owner meant they could be credited to the wrong agency, and filtering the map by operator never matched them at all. Both are fixed. A community camera now shows the operator the reporter actually named, or states plainly that the operator is unidentified. This app will not put a name on a camera we cannot stand behind. Built for every operator: Text now follows your size setting in iOS Settings, on every screen. Map pins read aloud their type, cross street, operator, confirmation status, and lens direction, so the core of the app works by voice. iPad layouts hold to a readable width instead of stretching to fill glass. When the signal drops: The app now says so. One honest NO SIGNAL strip that also tells you what still works without a connection. Plus a performance sweep: the scan sweep and cold boot no longer redraw themselves sixty times a second. Know the range. Know the reason. Operations Floor, fixed: The keyboard no longer covers the composer. It rises with your message box, the transmission log shrinks to keep the latest traffic visible, and everything moves on the keyboard's own animation so there is no jumping while you type.
