You claim this app is for people who want to be aware of their exposure to these cameras, but then the camera is a light gray 1px bubble on a dark gray map. That’s basically unseeable to the human eye. Also the loading bar, for when it thinks there is only 75 cameras in an area and is hammering OSM to pull new ones, is comically discrete and truncated in the first third. This little quirk really shows how much it was AI driven and how much you didn’t look at it. Thanks for responding to your criticism of overuse of AI with an AI slop letter. Do one thing for yourself man! Nothing new here besides a “tacticool” theme and a bunch of AI slop. The onboarding fear mongers and claims data is kept for years. We don’t need fear mongering when the real system is bad enough. Additionally the timeline intro shows cameras in places where none exist. The timeline evenly projects a surveillance grid across the entire US (even Montana) because it’s unguided AI slop. Oh and you get a hard sell immediately on completing the on boarding. Just some guy in AZ trying to make a quick buck on people’s anger about surveillance. Stick to the DeFlock app and FlockHopper. Save your money to donate to the fight. **Developer response:** Thanks for taking the time to leave detailed feedback. We take every review seriously, especially critical ones, because they've helped shape the app since launch. A few clarifications:
 "Kept for years." That isn't AI-generated or fear-based messaging. Our retention information comes from publicly available statutes, ordinances, agency policies, court rulings, and public records. Many jurisdictions have no statutory retention limit at all. Every transparency grade is backed by a source-cited methodology available in the app under How We Score. If you find an error or have a source we've missed, we'll investigate it and correct it. The onboarding timeline. That's fair feedback. The opening animation is a stylized introduction, not a visualization of real camera locations, and we'll make that clearer in a future update. The live map itself contains only documented cameras sourced from OpenStreetMap, the DeFlock community, and verified community reports, it does not generate or project camera locations with AI. The paywall. Flocklight is free to use. The nationwide surveillance map, camera reporting, camera dossiers, agency directory, contract tracker, Know Your Rights guide, transparency grades, and legislative tracking are all available without a subscription. Pro unlocks advanced features and helps fund ongoing research, infrastructure, and development without relying on ads or selling user data. Finally, we have a lot of respect for projects like DeFlock and FlockHopper. They're doing important work, and we intentionally contribute back to the broader transparency ecosystem. Our goal with Flocklight isn't to replace them, it's to build the most comprehensive public accountability platform around ALPR surveillance by combining verified camera data with source-cited transparency research, FOIA tools, legislative tracking, leadership dossiers, and continuous development in one place. You can dismiss the offer and continue using the free version.
