However, the UX is so bad. To send a note, one must go back and forth between portrait and landscape displays just to see the full message you typed and send it. And now seeing that there’s been no updates for 7 years gives me little hope for improvement. ### 1/5 — Very bad *2025-11-20, version 2.5.2* This is one of the worst apps I have ever had the displeasure of using. It is little different (if at all different) from just using the browser on your phone. The mobile based app ironically is terrible. I literally cannot write a message from my phone to our community. The app keeps restricting the view of the options for example, when I go to write a text message if I make any edits, I lose the view to preview schedule Send, etc I see this app has terrible reviews going back a while, and I really encouraged this company to improve its mobile app because it’s not fulfilling its mission by putting such a poor quality product in the App Store ### 1/5 — IOS doesn’t work! *2025-09-15, version 2.5.2* I hope somehow this app gets fix. It’s unusable on cell or iPad (especially). Please address these issues ### 1/5 — Horrible App … worse yet given its communication intent *2025-06-11, version 2.5.2* It’s hard to believe that an app which is supposed to supplant group text, and other forms of communication – including email could be so horribly horribly poor! You can login. You might be able to see a few things. But I guarantee as soon as you compose a note, or look something up it will end up on a screen where everything is off screen and you are frozen in place! Generally speaking, I can do one or two things then I have to shut down the app and try all over again. Ugh. such a good software idea. The program is amazing, but the app itself is faulty. Continuously logging you out, crashing, refusing to allow copy and paste, and hiding the “send” button when sending a text Flocknote just to name a few problems. You get what you pay for with Flocknote. The app doesn’t allow pasting of texts, buttons don’t work, random sporadic errors all over the place. The app, however, for iOS is not usable. Regardless what settings I try to change inside of my phone I am unable to send a text message make notes or do any other task inside the app because when you tap done on the keyboard all of the buttons in order to either send save or otherwise disappear off the screen. I have considered upgrading to a paid version, but as long as the app remains like this, that’s never gonna happen. Very unfortunate since I do appreciate what Flocknote staff are doing. ### 2/5 — This app does not work well with voiceover. I can’t log in on the website, and to say the app is an absolute headache would be too nice….. ### 1/5 — Horrible App *2024-08-28, version 2.5.2* We recently changed from using SportsYou to Flocknote per a non-negotiable mandate from our Archdiocese. All sports teams had to migrate over. Compared to the robust platform of SportsYou, this app is total trash, non intuitive and useless. It is not friendly across operating platforms and often glitches. We are now having to use three different platforms to get our athletes and parents information that was all previously communicated through one central platform in SportsYou. I would NEVER recommend this app, there’s too many limiting factors ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Horrible Mobile UX *2026-03-03, version 2.5.2* This app is nearly impossible to use. Copy and paste on iPhone requires significant prayer and intercession from Almighty God in order to send just one group text. ### 1/5 — Can't use the app *2026-01-22, version 2.5.2* I can access the website just fine. The mobile app is being deleted today because on 2 consecutive occasions now (over a month apart) it crashes as soon as I try to open my profile on the app. I thought it might be due for an update (both times) and none are available. If I happen to check my email, and I click on a link, it will take me to the web based and it works fine. But the app? Absolutely horrible. When I try to login, it acts like it is and then closes. It was doing this a week ago, and I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. It worked for a while, but is now doing the same thing. I notice there haven’t been any updates either. With one click we can reach out by text or email to our specific group. It even tracks who has opened the message for effective follow-up. In the email communications, I wish there was an option to allow for email replies to be shared with the whole group and create more of an email thread. Otherwise super-effective. ### 5/5 — Heaven Sent *2019-01-28, version 2.5.2* Flocknote has been a Heaven Sent to the Church. Easy and quick communication to the entire church body.. Problem = when I click the eCatholic group there is no way to get back “home”. Even if you close and reopen the app it still forces you to join the eCatholic group if you want to get back to your other groups. If you remove yourself from the group afterwards, it brings you back to the join eCatholic group signup page and your back at square one.
